Clare and Iain are wonderful hosts! We felt like we were visiting old friends. Their dog, Reggie sure is a cutie! The rooms were very cozy and there was a wonderful sitting room with a fire. The food was amazing and the location is perfect. Only about 5 minutes from Elgol Harbour.

We had booked Coruisk House for its location, being close to Elgol Harbour. We usually don't book B&Bs as you often feel like you are living in someone else's house. Our stay here was nothing ordinary starting with the warm genuine welcome to the beautiful cosy rooms (Hygge in Danish) and the truly exceptional food and excellent carefully researched wine...

The place is old and creaky but this adds to the experience. It's not quite what I expected from the other reviews and the website. It's not luxurious as such. However, the evening meal was truly amazing and the breakfast was wholesome and tasty. It is isolated and not a good base to explore all of Skye, but it's isolation...

This is an unassuming looking B & B from the outside, down a long single track, winding road (watch out for sheep) and then you go inside to Clare & Lian's wonderful, amazing, magical world. There really are no words to describe the beauty and warmth of this B & B that Clare & Lian (and Reggie their black Lab)...

Coruisk House is the very definition of charm - from its warm and welcoming hostess, to its cosy and comfortable rooms, to its utterly delicious meals. Clare runs the place, Ian cooks, and between them they have created the best place to stay, and dine, on the Isle of Skye. It's where we head as soon as we arrive on...

From the outside as we approach Coruisk House was an unassuming place that you could easily not notice but the reception we received as soon as we walked through the door was pretty special. The House is cosy and relaxed and our room was lovely. The attention and love that has been put into the House is apparent and the...

It's a long drive and the setting for this restaurant is different in that it's effectively a house but the interior is warm and stylish and clearly a work in progress for the owners. The service was first class especially the friendly lady who is the local postmans wife! The food was incredible and that's what counts when eating out...

We were staying in Elgol and decided to visit this place for dinner, what a great decision. A warm welcome and led to a very spacious table. Not close to other diners and very well presented. Views from the front windows are breathtaking. The food is excellent. Prepared to a very high standard and portion size just right. Service throughout...

We wanted to be out in the country and the Coruisk House was the perfect place to be. We felt so welcome when Clare offered us a glass of prosecco on check-in. Both rooms are equally charming. What a treat to dine and stay here. The restaurant is worth the journey itself. For an intimate place, the food and presentation...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Coruisk House is the Restaurant with Rooms in Elgol. It is situated in the tiny but stunning fishing village of Elgol, two miles from the harbour. Elgol harbour overlooks Loch Scavaig towards the most spectacular view on the Isle of Skye - towards the Cuillin Ridge. Boat trips are available from Elgol Harbour between March to October for visits to Loch Coruisk and the islands of Soay, Rum and Canna (Iain and Clare will book the boat trips for their guests). Outside of these months, and weather dependent, boat trips are available by prior arrangement but guests should enquire well in advance of their visit. The area is renowned for spectacular scenery and is beloved of photographers and artists. There are many amazingly scenic walks that can be made from the house or just a short drive away. There are two rooms for guests at Coruisk House, each with views over towards the Sleat peninsula. Each room has a king size bed (one is a four poster), en-suite shower room and tea and coffee making facilities. The rooms are tastefully furnished, the beds have soft pillows and duck down duvets and the towels are fluffy! There is a cosy residents lounge with wood-burning stove and comfortable sofas to enjoy afternoon tea or a dram from a selection of fine single malts available. There is a television in the lounge. The restaurant (also with an open fire) serves lunch and dinner by prior reservation (24 hours advance reservation) from March until October using local produce (with a focus on seafood and highland game, although catering to specific dietary requirements with prior notice). Fresh shellfish is available having been landed daily (weather permitting) by the fishermen who leave Elgol Harbour early every morning throughout the year. Iain prepares delicious food with close attention to detail and will cater to guests specific requests if at all possible. Clare makes fresh bread daily for guests to enjoy. Afternoon tea is also available for all residents of Coruisk House. Iain and Clare greet all their guests with a warm welcome and make sure that their stay is relaxing and enjoyable in a truly stunning location. ... more   less
