This is a peaceful and beautiful resort well away from civilisation. I stayed with my mum for 2 nights in this beautiful resort where we got upgraded to a better room in the monsoon suite! They honestly treated us like absolute queens writing a hand written note to welcome us and writing welcome on our bed with twigs. The Manager of this hotel came to introduce himself to us, and continued to wave and greet us every time he saw us! The service was incredible! They were all so polite and happy.
The food was insane too! We got given a “healthy shot” with breakfast in addition to the huge choice in food! All types of food were available to choose from. However one thing to watch out on is that there are no other shops or restaurants in the local area so you have to get dinner and/or lunch which ends up quite expensive. Well worth the price though.
Because the resort was so spread apart, they have a car driving around, at your request, to take you to the different areas of the resort. This is such an experience as you can sit on the top, as pictured! However be careful if you have a bad back or something like that because you’re bounced all over the gaff 😂.
Overall, this is a really really lovely hotel; well worth visiting. The location is very out of the way but peaceful and beautiful, and the hotel is lovely with amazing staff members that all deserve a mention. It is somewhat expensive compared to the rest of Bali, but it’s well worth it. I’d recommend staying here! :)

Dear shania_thompson, thanks a lot. We are very happy to know you enjoyed your recent visit at The Menjangan and took home some amazing memories. Our location is certainly stunning and creates plenty of experiences to take home and share with family and friends. Sometimes all we need is a little escape form the daily hassle of life and in our tranquil and peaceful location this is truly possible. Quite a drive up, but worth it and a must-do. All staff as well was truly delighted to read your feedback and their day just started a way better than usual with your kind words; especially in the difficult times the world is going through right now. Having said that, we all hope that you and your family are well and healthy during this global crisis. Stay healthy and we look forward to welcome you back soon for another escape to paradise. They said this was the first resort in West Bali National Park before the new resort coming in. We can see their best effort to mingle with the nature.

There are 3 separare places, the Monsoon Lodge (has 16 rooms on deluxe, 4 rooms for Suite), the Bali Tower (where the receptionist were located) and 7 unit Beach Villas and Pantai Restoran.
The suite room in Monsoon lodge were spacious, and the nice swimming pool are so close from the door. At night, you can hear the sound of night creature accompanying your sleep. It feels so refreshing for city person like me.

Before the pandemic, there is a Bistro/restaurant on the the Bali Tower. But now, the restaurant only available on the beach. You need to call the shuttle to go from Monsoon to the beach and it took like 5-8 minutes.
Expect a lot of mosquitos in the resto during the night although the provide citronella spray for mosquito repellent. Even they provide anti insect spray.

Since the location is far from everywhere, you were encourage to have lunch and dinner in the restaurant.
It is a good experience for me and family, a unique atmosphere and ambience, quite in the most natural surroundings. But, I'm not that lucky to see the menjangan during our 2 night stays there.
A recommended place to stay with your loved one.

Dear Harianto K, thanks a lot. All of the team at The Menjangan are very happy to read your review about your recent stay with us. It certainly made their day too and they were excited to know that you had a wonderful time with us. Our location being so remote and inside the national park is a great advantage and contributes to amazing experiences to make as well as just some relaxing as well as peaceful time; a great city escape as you said. The pandemic also had an impact on us and our restaurant operations focusses on the beach venue with Pantai Restaurant; yet we can assure you that once the pandemic is over our Tower will be open again for meals. Right now you were hopefully able to enjoy some mesmerizing sunset from the 5th floor. We hope to welcome you back soon for more memorable moments with your family at The Menjangan. We stayed at The Menjangan for a long weekend in April 2022 with our four children and a friend of ours. We rented three beach villas. All in all we had an excellent stay. This small yet exclusive hotel is nestled in the lush tropical forest of the West Bali National Park (the scenic ride from the airport is approximately 4 hours) and what I loved about it the most was that it preserves perfectly the natural beauty of the vegetation and the overall environment without attempting to alter it artificially or dominate it in any way. We loved staying at the beach villas ... very comfortable beds, spacious and very clean and tastefully, yet simply, decorated....stunning sunrise views from our beds! The tower in the park was being used as a reception and was temporarily closed as a restaurant due to covid. We ate at the beach restaurant (lovely location right by the sea) and found the food excellent and the choice good. Breakfast was particularly enjoyable with a very good choice of pastries, eggs, Indonesian food and homemade joghurts, fruit juices etc. The kids loved the double decker safari bus which shuttled us around the park. The highlight of our stay was the half day snorkelling trip to the Menjangang island where we saw a rich variety of sealife extending from stonefish, trigger fish, clown fish, sea snake, eagle ray, hard and soft coral. Our snorkelling guide was wonderful, very friendly and competent. Service at the hotel was overall excellent and we felt extremely well taken care of. My daughters and I enjoyed our sunset horse ride through the forest and the short beach stretch. The park is home to monkeys and deer which are commonly sighted and we were thrilled to witness a monkey diving into the sea right in front of us and swimming underwater for a long stretch. The mangroves are stunning. All in all, I thoroughly recommend this gem of a hotel which offers a unique experience of perfect harmony with nature, coupled with excellent service and high quality comfort.

If you are looking for serenity in Bali's and a hideaway from the island's crowded places, The Menjangan may be a great destination to choose. This resort is inside the West Bali National Park, so you can be assured that the area would be secluded and you can have the place for yourself. Though you need to note that since the resort is inside the park, you will need some time to go from one place to another. The check in process was smooth, the staff explained every details of the resort clearly. We booked 3 rooms for our family in the Monsoon Lodge, quite big rooms which were still well kept. The public swimming pool is just in front of our room (including the warm pool which was the favorite). The staff were all friendly and very helpful. We had breakfast by the beach area, which was superb with a stunning view of one of Java's mountains in the background. We spent the days mostly with snorkeling and kayaking nearby the resort. You could see a lot of beautiful fishes. Also since we were in the national park, you could spot some deers and the famous Bali's starling bird around the resort. If you are a nature lover and would like to experience serenity, this resort is highly recommended. Overall we had a very memorable stay!

I had booked for a 1 night stay at the Monsoon Lodge. Picked up from Kuta by the resort driver Pak Gede and the drive took about 4 hours through the hillside to the resort. I enjoyed the journey and the service provided by the resort staff. Also managed to observe the Bali Starling just outside my lodge. Food is good so is the room facilities. I am glad for the early morning wake-up call provided by the reception. Kudos to the resort for reducing plastic waste by using metal straws and refillable drinking water for guests.

Beach front villa is huge and clean. We can hear sound of sea waves at midnight. Some monkeys walk across the villa in the morning but they didn't disturb us. Felling so peaceful here. Bali Tower has a wonderful view, especially taking picture from the 5th floor. Hotel provides such a safari car for guest transportation from the room to restaurant or jetty. You will find white sand and clear water in the sea.

We saw monkeys and deer multiple times a day, just all around us. We also spotted the rare Bali starlings, a large lizard, bats and butterflies. If you like nature, you’ll love this place. You are so removed from the rest of the world that it’s a bit of a shock when you have to re-emerge.
You won’t want for anything though as the staff have thought of everything. The food is great And they have a pretty good wine selection for Bali. It is a joy to sit and eat on the little jetty restaurant over the sea, watching the boats head out to Menjangan Island, with the hills of Java in the distance.

We stayed in a Monsoon room in the forest which was great and right on the very nice pool. We loved the place so much that we came back a few days later, this time to a beach villa. Both are great but the beach villa is really special- you can lie in bed with a view of the sea and we regularly had deer waking past or just lying on the beach in front of the villa. Thoroughly recommend this place.

Our stay with The Menjangan was above all expectations! The location is very peaceful and perfect for those who love nature and animals. In comparison to Ubud, you can truly enjoy beautiful nature without the experience being overly-touristy. We frequently spottet deers and monkeys bathing right in front of our beach villa. The highlight, however, was the amazing staff. Everyone was incredibly kind, friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was absolutely delicious and high quality, the rooms were always clean and the facilities were comfortable. We also booked a snorkeling tour with the guide Eka, who gave us a fantastic experience under water. The corals are very beautiful and full of life by the Menjangan Island. We'd also like to recommend Menjangan's pick-up and drop-off service. Our kind driver offered us to stop by various destinations such as waterfalls, temples, sightseeing points etc. along the way, and we received refreshments for the long trip. To sum up, the Menjangan is an absolute paradise hidden in the west of Bali!

It was unthinkable to stay at one of the best resorts in the western part of the island of Bali. We selected to stay here because of the location, and we made the perfect decision!

It's incredibly lovely and peaceful, out in the heart of nature.
Also a good place for escape from a bustling city life , the Bay were beautiful and the starry sky incredible

We were lucky to have a side by side room during the check in and all staff are hospitable . Room are huge with a big size bed
The mattresses were quite comfortable, and the room was warm, with a magnificent view of the rainforest
The water pressure in the shower was superb and there was plenty of warm water.

We had a lovely dinner in their restaurant in the night.
We enjoy the fact that they exclusively use best local food and ingredients.
They also serve delicious Pizza .

Will return in the near future

Yes, you can. Within the premises, there's a jetty at the bay co-used with Plataran resort. When you arrange a day trip to Menjangan island, the jetty is where you depart and come back. I also undesrstand that the tour operators outside can also pick you up from the same jetty.
