A wuonderful stay in charming Alajar. Superb accommodation with our own terrace with views over the valley. Our hosts Lucy and Angel were always welcoming and helpful - excellent home cooking when we were not trying one of the local bars or restaurants of which there was such a choice. Most memorable was a Jamon and Sherry session with Angel....

I made a stop for two nights in La Posada as a part of my tour in Andalucia and the experience was great!! You can either enjoy a peaceful night and do many activities during daytime! Its a magnific place for hiking, the staff show me routes to do. There is also a small village close to La posada where...

A wonderful stay with superb hosts in their beautiful hotel - the rooms and pool are lovely and location is rural and picturesque. There are plenty of mountain activities in which to partake if required - walking, climbing, kayaking, canyoning, biking or you can relax in the large garden by the pool. Lucy and Angel provide superb meals or can...

Excellent base for walking holiday, good food, friendly and comfortable. The owners Lucy and Angel provide every assistance to make your stay a special one, great maps and photo guides provided to ease your walks. Most of our fellow guests had been there before and now I understand why, I suspect we'll be back ourselves.

We did the Sierra Circuit walk which we thoroughly enjoyed - blue skies, autumn leaves, snorting pigs eating acorns, vultures wheeling overhead. Unfortunately the other hotels were disappointing after La Posada! We would definitely return but use La Posada as our base for walking from - hire a car so that we could do walks further afield. La Posada is...

We were impressed with the helpfulness of Lucy and Angel who, prior to our arrival in Spain gave us detailed directions from Seville and were happy to book us in for dinner at the hotel for two of the three nights of our stay. Whilst resident, they gave us plenty of information and advice about the locality and walks. Our...

Just returned from my third stay at La Posada de San Marcos. The hotel is very comfortable and the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere makes it the ideal location for exploring the Sierra de Aracena. Lucy & Angel, the owners, made me feel like I was staying in their house rather than a hotel. From providing detailed walks and local information...

Such an enjoyable few days in an attractive village staying in a superb tranquil Posada. The food was traditionally Spanish, extremely delicious and the breakfasts were particularly enjoyable. The whole experience is greatly to be recommended, the pool was most enjoyable and there are some interesting walks around this area. The owners, Lucy & Angel, have created a wonderful place...

Enjoy a wonderful stay in a special part of the Natural Park Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche at Las Posadas in Alájar providing low impact, environmentally friendly accommodation within a natural park along with invaluable help and advice from your hosts Lucy and Ángel. At La Posada de San Marcos the only sound you will hear is the breeze in the cork oak trees, the babbling of the stream, birdsong and crickets. The view towards the oak clad hill behind us or towards the village and the Peña beyond provide the perfect backdrop from your room terrace or the gardens. The perfect opportunity to experience an environmentally friendly, energy efficient hotel with a superior level of accommodation and disabled access. Relax in our garden and if it gets too warm plunge into our 12 metre pool to cool off or take some exercise.Or alternatively you can stay at our sister hotel La Posada de Alájar, a renovated inn dating from the 18th Century where you are surrounded by the history of its walls and chestnut beamed ceilings.
