If you have nice weather, this place is a Gem. The surroundings are very interesting and offers a lot of stories and history. The lodging is somewhat basic but definitely better than regiment-style military lodging.

I am just going to give this place an average review. You are paying a considerable amount of $$$ to stay in what is basically a college dorm room with a shower. It is a type of tourist attraction but I honestly don't think it was worth the money, $240US. Nice view of the Fjord but fairly steep and somewhat...

Men and my wife spent a night at this Hotel in connection with the the annual "Castle ball". Oscarsborg is a place to visit during the summer, any other time it is to cold and wet. But the hotel is ok, not a Superior class but ok for a few nights and excelent for exploring Oscarsborg. Good service at the...

Wonderful iceland, and very romantic. But do not stay at the hotel. Its overpriced and old. The rooms looks nothing like it did at booking.com. The restaurant at the fort where closed, and the one at the hotel served only burgers and crappy food. Its NOT worth the price, at all! Stay clear from the hotel, but do visit Oscarsborgs...

OK you need to understand that this fortress was a working military base until about 1997 so the blocks where you stay are the original barrack rooms where the troops used to stay. Although they are comfortable and big, they need to sort the TV reception and the Wifi as both were non-existent when we stayed there (in the rooms)....

Located in the old fortress of Oscarsberg this hotel and conference facility ar basic but with a great atmosphere. Food in the restaurant is good and plentiful, rooms are basic (as in basic), many of which with a splendid view to the fjord of Oslo.

Awesome choice to hold a business meeting! Food was excellent, so was the meeting facilities. Bedrooms, were very basic to say the least (more army barrack room style), beds where a little on the hard side!

If you are looking for a conference venue, Oscarsborg island is the perfect choice. A perfect surrounding, an interesting history, good seafood and privacy. The rooms are OK with simple practical interior.

The rooms are beyond old, outdated, uncomfortable and with narrow twin beds. The service is strictly amateur hour. Terrible service is putting it mildly. The food, don't get me started on the food - they ran out of food for the sunday breakfast?!! The island is good for a visit but DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! Management need professional...

So you won't stay here if you expect anything more than a military barracks standard. Because that is what it is, but it is barracks for corporals and sergents so it is not the worst of it's kind. But he rooms I guess was buing in the 70ies are definately worth it for the rest of the experience. The dinners...
