We originally booked to stay at TRS Coral with 3 adults in a Loft Suite, however the hotel changed their policy after we had booked to allow 2 adults max in a Loft Suite. We were offered the choice of moving to a loft in the Family Selection (and the ability to use all the adult facilities as we were all aged 18+) or booking an additional room at a huge cost (it was over Christmas). We opted for the FS Loft in Block 12. The room was great with a separated bedroom, two bathrooms and two balconies. However, the Family Selection block was not a good choice for us as adults - it was extremely noisy 24 hours a day. The Nest restaurant in the FS section was handy for breakfast and was extremely convenient one rainy night when we didn't want to brave going to the Coral or Grand Palladium restaurants in the torrential rain. The Coral is easy walking distance from the FS section but the GPCM restaurants, coffee shop, Chic etc. are accessible either by taking a shuttle boat (great fun!) or a golf cart. Its walkable but there are no pavements/sidewalks and its poorly lit at night. The grounds are very different to the usual resorts but beautiful. The meandering rivers are a great feature. The restaurants are good at TRS Coral (loved Helios) but we were less than impressed by the GPCM restaurants. They were very noisy and food was poor quality in comparison to Coral/The Nest. Husband and I were both ill for many days after eating at the Steakhouse at GPCM and once we had recovered, we stuck to eating at the TRS Coral. On the plus side, we both lost weight and were grateful to have had a room with two bathrooms. The doctor was helpful (and expensive) but i didn't appreciate being taken to the ATM by golf cart to get cash for her when i really needed to stay in my room, near the bathroom and pay with a credit card. Overall, it was an ok trip but we probably wouldn't return having been so ill there. The member of staff who we remember fondly was Tina at the Beach Pool who looked after us so well.

We stayed in the hotel in December of 2020. We loved the hotel, and even more so, the family selection we stayed in. We loved that we could get coffee, wine, fruits, snacks any time of the day. it has its own breakfast place that offers variety of food. We loved the territory of the hotel - it's huge and provides tons of trees and greenery. We loved our walk from the beach and family selection to the main area. Main are is built like a small town with stores and restaurants. it's really pretty and useful. The coffee shop is fantastic with delicious cappuccinos and deserts. The golf carts and gondolas are running every 10-15 minutes to get you there if you don't want to walk. But most importantly, i want to praise the people who were helping us in the family selection building! they went above and beyond to assist us. Karla, Julio, Anni, Alberto - thank you!!! Sorry i post it a few months late, but i still wanted to make sure you get the recognition from the management!!! Enjoy the place!!

This was our third time staying at this property (once pre-COVID, two post). Everyone at the Nest (Diego, Mauricio, Roque, Josue) got to know us well and was super attentive to us. We had been at the resort for a week in June, and when we walked back in for breakfast on our first day of our August trip Diego saw me and said "double espresso and an orange juice!" And he was right! Every morning, as soon as they saw us, the entire wait staff at the Nest was ready for us. The kids club staff (Wendy, Freeda, Erika, Susana, Nicole) all remembered my daughter as well, and she was super comfortable with all of them. I am a single parent, so when I travel with my daughter these things make or break my trip. I would go back to the property just for this. The family hosts (Nataly, Yahaira) made sure we had a special experience, and even put together a birthday party for my daughter, as she had had a birthday in between our two stays this summer. She loved it! Hurricane Grace hit the area while we were there. The staff worked very hard to keep everything in operation, and we were still able to enjoy our time during the bad weather. The next day everything was back to operating normally, as though nothing had happened. The staff worked very hard under difficult circumstances to make that possible. Having been to the resort two years apart, one thing that preserved the experience was the continuity of the staff. Several of the people who work there now were there two years ago. They're people I remember, who made our trips positive experiences, then and now. They're working extra hard under the weight of COVID, so please be kind to them if/when you visit. Looking forward to going back soon.

Pros: - BEAUTIFUL resort. The rooms (we stayed in a loft) are large, clean and updated. Beds were comfortable. - Lots to do!The spa and gym are great, there are tons of daily activities at the pool. We didn't make it to the Kids Clubs, and aren't sure if they were open. - Buffet food was great (see below), but my bar is low. - They provide beach toys, inflatables, beach bag - Ask for it! - Beach - really close, nice sand. There were lots of chairs and umbrellas. They come around asking for drinks, but no food. Cons: - Check-in - we took the Lomas van and waited over an hour at the airport (we had enough people to fill two vans). Check-in at the hotel took an additional hour. - Butler Service - We do Family Selection (or a similar version) at our resort as we have young kids; They give you a WhatsApp butler service. They were extremely unresponsive. See photo. - Golf Carts - the resort is HUGE and with kids and wedding events, we needed golf carts as transportation. We sometimes waited for more than 30 mins in the blazing heat. - Food - The people in my party were very disappointed with the food. The room service (marketed as 24/7) always took over 2 hours or never came. - App - the App is not up to date. They tell you about all the restaurants and times upon arriving, but it isn't written anywhere and difficult to figure out. Beach - Lots of kelp at certain times of the day. You can't get food at the beach either. Service - People are really nice, but quite unresponsive.
