Wayanad was in the bucket list for a long time and We finally decided to getaway during a weekend. We were two couple and a bachelor friend. Our search for hotel began about two weeks prior to the travel date. Each of us were searching through the internet for the ideal hotel. All of us zeroed in on Grassroots. The...

We are thankful for your feed back and every one of your comments have been taken on Board and attended to in all seriousness Being in the lap of nature there are a lot of insect sounds in the evening, especially the Cricket insect sounds. These are sounds of an old wayanad rapidly disappearing with the advent of modernisation and...

Prajwal is one of the best hosts I have come across. He gave us a tour of the adjacent tea estate too. We had been there in the month of june, which is just before the proper monsoon season. I feel the experience would be even better during monsoon. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

Mr. Prajwal and his team took good care of us. The ambiance of the resort is out of the world. Food quality and taste is indeed worth mentioning. Plantation Trek with Mr. Prajwal is a must. An awesome experience, overall !

I stayed there for two nights and it was a rejuvenating experience. The onset of monsoon and the view of mountains from the tent entrance sit-out was alluring. We had an amazing experience with the wonderful cooking/service staff and one can rely on this man Mr. Prajwal(manager) for his forthcoming tips and helpful inputs. Stayed @ Tent 5. Food is...

This resort is about half an hour's journey from Kalpetta bus stand. This is surrounded by scenic beauty all around. The manager Mr. Prajwal was very attentive to our needs and made sure our stay there was very comfortable. He also took us on a walk around the tea plantation which was very beautiful. The tents are well maintained. One...

The worst ever trip v had planned, the images and the resort doesn't match at all.. They have used the resort images of the Kabini Grassroots. The Wayanad resort doesn't have proper security it is situated far off from the road inside a small plantation land. The tent is having only 1 side half built brick wall, anybody can sneak...

Sorry that the guest had a poor experience and we will do everything to correct that impression There is nothing known as Kabini Grassroots It is a tented accommodation and to expect a tented accommodation to have walls is not fair. The guest could have gone through and read the web site and reviews properly. No where has it been stated...

We chose Grassroots since it appeared to be an offbeat destination. Reached Wayanad around lunch time and Prajwal was right at the entrance to receive us. There is decent parking space at the entrance where you can leave the car. The property is not very expansive - a small patch of coffee plantation amidst which 5 luxury tends have been...

Hats off to Prajiwal and team at Grassroots- simple, down to earth and service oriented. They have a great Chef who provides excellent vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Nice rooms which are sophisticated tents. Enjoy the sound of birds and insects. This Summer was definitely not the best time to be there in Wayanad. I am sure that the overwhelming nature...

It was a very good relaxing day for us. Tent house was really good, u feel like u r with nature, quiet and calm, far from 'man busy life'. The mountain range view, coffee plantation, sound of beetles and sipping coffee sitting in the small veranda, gives a soothing effect to your mind and soul. The food was delicious, great...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Grassroots is at the foothills of the Vythiri ranges with the majestic Chembra peak to the left and the Banasura/Kuruchermala to the right. The property straddles a tea estate and has a swift flowing river with a Pannia (a tribe found in Kerala & Tamil Nadu) colony at the edge of the river. Set on a three acre slope of coffee, areca nut and pepper, Grassroots overlooks the tea plantations planted during the colonial era. A quaint stream below forms a general area of activity for the scattered population of tribals and other residents. The Banasura range of mountains beyond completes the picture, making it truly magical. Accommodation is in Luxury Swiss tents, spacious and plush with every amenity that the discerning traveler would want. ... more   less
