Just returned from a family holiday in Port Stephens. An amazing and beautiful area. As a family of 10 people we were looking forward to this for a long time. I had my dog so was thrilled they had dog friendly cabins. My thrill ended when I saw where my cabin was (don’t stay in Studio A or B) at $250 a night the sound of cars, trucks all day and most of the night is all you can hear! No peace at all! I bought heavy duty ear plugs and they still didn’t work. My neighbours also said the noise of the road is horrendous. Tried to have an afternoon wine on the balcony and the bins for the entire park were across from our “cosy cabin” and the waft of prawns and garbage was intense. Wish I was given a heads up before booking this that dog cabins are road side and sleep and a pleasant stay I would not have :-(

This is a great little park to stay in. The location is central and good to go out adventuring the entire area. The facilities for kids are fantastic and they enjoyed playing on the equipment in the morning (which we could see from the cabin - which is fantastic) to coming back each evening to ride their bikes and jump on the jumping/bouncy thing. A special mention to Grace, as we did have a small issue initially, but she sorted it quickly, professionally and with a true customer focus. Other staff were also friendly and happy to help - e.g. the guy who turned on the waterslide for the kids and wiped down the slippery dip in the morning. We can recommend Bays, especially if travelling with kids.

Lovely cabin, great for dog owners. Minutes from Nelson Bay. If you book through Booking.com be aware you will be charged a pet cleaning fee of $50. It is not clear in the room booking, it’s in the fine print.
