My wife & I have just arrived home from a really lovely stay at the Hatton Court hotel! From the moment we arrived (with our two dogs in tow) they could not have been more helpful! We have read such a mixture of reviews we were not sure what to expect but we were so impressed! Our room was lovely...

Recently, I took two friends for full afternoon tea. Save your money! I had rung up just before to request brown bread only but when the sandwiches arrived we were given white bread for half the sandwiches. There was no choice of tea flavours which I found unusual and after being given our tea, we didn't see the waitress again!...

We stayed overnight at Hatton Court on a dinner, bed and breakfast rate.....a bargain at £139. This was fourth time we have stayed, Hatton is one of our favourite cotwolds hotels as the atmosphere is so charming and relaxed. As usual we really enjoyed our stay and have to say the service is as good as ever. Dinner and breakfast...

A little piece of quiet, beautiful views, friendly staff. Perfect for a romantic time away. We have candle lit 3 course dinner which was amazing, great flavours. Service for evening meal was impeccable. Over night stay was quiet and relaxing. Would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. The only down side was the lovely old lady that use to serve...

My husband and I have just stayed in room 15 at the Hatton Court Hotel. It was terrible. It was very clean but the room is in urgent need of refurbishment. Personally I think it is not fit to stay in. The carpet is done, the wallpaper is hanging off the walls. The furniture is scratched and the bed is...

Good location. Nice setting. Room hovever disappointed with dated decor, en-suite in dire need of another one or two lights to be able to see. Bed was uncomfortable and made for a sleepless night even after a 300 mile drive. Restaurant food was bland and tasteless and Bistr area beside the main restaurant was overpriced. Breakfast was adequate the choice...

We have just returned from a two night break at this lovely hotel. We shared a late birthday celebration here for our friend and her husband. They found this hotel on the internet. Went there recently for a friends reunion. The menu was poor, the portions of food laughably miniscule. Two VERY small queen scallops and the black pudding accompaniment was two half inch, you read it correctly, half inch cubes! My steak was overcooked and again a small rib-eye.Dessert was a tiny, flavourless cheesecake with no crunchy base. coffee wasn't weak, it was HELPLESS!That...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
‘Contemporary country house with the Cotswolds warmest welcome’ Set high on an escarpment overlooking the Severn Vale this 45 bedroom country house hotel lies between the Cathedral City of Gloucester and Regency Cheltenham. Hatton Court provides the right balance between traditional hotel service and all the benefits you would expect from a contemporary hotel. The Tara Restaurant is renowned locally. It is an ideal place from which to explore the Cotswolds. Hatton Court is a reassuring size; not large and impersonal, nor too small. As a former splendid Cotswold home the feeling is of being eminently comfortable as opposed to grand. Nothing is hurried. The reception is very much a lounge, with leather sofas, magazines and an open fireplace for those chillier days. Next door the bar is more a place to relax, take tea, read and talk than to rush. The care taken to prepare the food, combined with a smiling service, is complemented by the thought that has gone into creating the Tara Restaurant. Fully refurbished in late 2009 the natural colours and soft lighting make a relaxing environment for friends and relations to enjoy each other’s company. Private dining facilities are available in the equally well appointed Cotswold Room. The peace of the surrounding countryside and comfortable bedrooms, some with whirlpool baths, make for a good night’s sleep ready for another day exploring the Cotswolds. ... more   less
