Tried to get a room Friday 11/11/16 Being part of the Accor chain, I expect better. The reception was nothing short of rude. I walked out disgusted with the woman that served me, or more correctly didn't. Management needs to review their customer service training of staff.

What was a stately home for an Army Brigadier, Bowden Hall is now owned by Mercure. Awkward to get to as it is tucked away in the countryside accessible by a very narrow lane. It boasts very nice gardens but at this time of the year (October) not the best time to appreciate it. A lake was within a short...

We booked the good value BB&D deal on the Mecure website and spent two nights there, in order to spend a full day exploring Gloucester. Great welcome in reception, and generally found staff to be very attentive and friendly. It's a comfortable hotel in a stunning setting. The food at the dinner we had was very well prepared and the...

A weekend away booked via one of the websites specialising in hotel deals. A good hotel stay starts at reception with a quick and efficient check in. Our room was on the top floor at the back and was nice and quiet. the stairs could be difficult for the less mobile but as a listed building the planners would probably...

Lovely building with beautiful grounds Very stylish bar/lounge area and restaurant, breakfast and evening meal was very nice, but not enough food on the lunch time buffet and we ran out of food on both days. Large rooms with comfy beds but décor is very tiered and lets the rooms down. Bathrooms small and very dated. Staff very polite and...
