Lovely place, good beer, good fire, good service, but the food is rubbish, small portions making it expensive, looked as if they threw the food onto the plate. Couldn't say I was full at the end of the two courses. It used to be good, say my friends. Something has changed!!!!!!!

What makes the perfect country pub? Roaring fires in winter? Check x2. Wonderfully kept local beers? Check. Friendly staff? Check. Delicious and varied food? Check x everything on the specials board. Set on the brow of a hill in the edge of nowhere (not even the middle of nowhere), this is a proper old pub. It has rooms in an...

Really friendly place to either eat or meet friends for a drink, I don't think anything could improve the atmosphere.. The staff appeared to all be really hard working and helpful adding to the experience. I strongly recommend visiting to see if you also agree.

Stayed for one night. Reception was warm and welcoming. Room spacious and comfortable. Evening meal with log fire burning was lovely. Very festive. Food was really nice and had time to chill afterwards. Would be a great place to visit in summer.

really friendly place, the dog was more than welcome & food was great, Saturday lunch was very busy with lots going on, but never felt out of place. might be worth booking if you intend to eat in the evening.

I'd love to give this place 4 stars. The ambience is spot on, it's cozy, warm & all you'd expect from a quintessential Cotswolds pub. The menu, though, is far better than that- with an extensive specials list. Miss 17's pork loin was excellent & my monkfish was also great, although had been advertised as with parma ham- of which...

Had Sunday roast, generous portions of tasty joint of beef with all trimmings. Friendly efficient service and a good price too. Lovely atmosphere in quaint older part of the pub, very dog friendly, all in all very enjoyable!

My partner and I were looking somewhere to stay that was off the beaten track and in a little village. The Crown Inn really hit the spot! The staff were exceptionally friendly and went over and above, the food was second-to-none and the local ales were fab. The inn was lovely - several open fires, single glazed windows and wonky...

A wonderful Cotswold pub, difficult to find without Sat-Nav, with delicious menu and very helpful staff. The female bar manager was particularly good. We loved the extensive menu although the food took a long time to emerge from the kitchen - it was a busy Sunday lunchtime so to be expected. When it came, it was very tasty, unusual flavour...
