We stayed here as an add on to a pre planned trip to Costa Rica, what an amazing place, and what an amazing staff! Lizza, and Alejandro, were out absolute favorites! Everyone was so sweet, so accommodating, and so welcoming, I would highly recommend this inn, it is close to the airport, and if you have an extra day or a few extra days STAY HERE AND DO THE COFFEE TOUR! The coffe is amazing and you will learn something! Much love
We stayed here 5 years ago. We chose it again for a 4 days stay because it is small, family owned, quirky. Despite this, our first impression was not good, the receptionist did not offer a warm welcome and her only question was to ask what time we were leaving the next day!. First impression counts. It is still quirky, atmospheric. The service is friendly but erratic. The food is so so, some dishes excellent, desserts though are really good. Maybe this place is no longer cared for by its owners as it once was, we formed the impression that there was a general lack of update. With nearby competition, no place can stand still and rest on its laurels, no matter how much one claims to be an environmentalist.
The Finca is located ca 30 min from San Jose airport and 45 min from city centre, up in the hills. It‘s still a coffee plantation and whilst I missed the tour the estate ground gives visitors enough exotic feel. Beautiful trees and plants and samples of everything that grows in the region. There is a good size pool. The villas are oldy worldy, very clean, all works, but lacks a comfortable chair indoor and on the terrace with light to read. They could make the rooms more cosy. The restaurant is nice and I had a lovely dinner experience, I wish I remember the name of my waitress. Overall a nice place to take excursions from or fly out from as I did.
I'm glad we stayed at Finca Rosa before flying back home. Interesting and unique decor and great views of San Jose. As others have noted, the coffee tour is very worthwhile (and we bought a lot of coffee back -- a nice gift for friends). Nice staff, particularly Melissa at the front desk, who was super pleasant. Breakfast was very nice. Only negatives -- ants and other insects in our room -- I'm mindful of the surroundings but we didn't experience that in our other hotels in CR. And, although we generally enjoyed the restaurant, some dishes seemed fairly priced ($36 for a generous and tasty "catch of the day"), others not so much ($22 for a very small portion of gnocchi, not even warm when served).
Very happy with the service and the food! The rooms were all very different (our large family used three) and the location had a nice view over city of San Jose from a far! The service from all staff, esp Lizza and Charlie, was great! Our 7-year old son got to help out with breakfast service (carrying one round of napkins to the laundry basket) and earned his first tip!
After a long flight from London via Paris we arrived in San Jose at around 19.00hrs, we where promptly picked up and whisked off the Finca Rosa, about 30-40 mins away. We where greeted by the wonderful staff at check-in and taken too our room, well, what a loverly room, very large balcony, we could see the lights of the capital in the distance. We had booked in for 2 nights as our starting point to our first trip to Costa Rica. The room was very spacious and very clean, great bed as well. As you would expect the coffee in the room was amazing, actually the best I tasted on our 2 week trip (just wish I had purchased some to take home, my biggest mistake). The bar and restaurant where really good, and very well priced. All I can say is what a great place to stay, when I go back to CR I will make this my first point of call once again. Finca Rosa team, keep up the great work, a fantastic resort, thanks for looking after us so well.…
The finest hotel I've ever stayed at. Friendly staff. Fabulous rooms with comfy beds and fantastic views. Great food. Brilliant coffee tours. Just outside San Jose but peaceful and beautiful too. I can't wait to go again.
My husband and I enjoyed this beautiful Inn. I highly recommend. The staff is wonderful. Clean accommodations. Food is excellent. Shirley also David our servers did a fantastic job. The chef made Amazing food. Everything we ate for all our meals were superb. They all made you feel like family. The coffee tour is very good. I highly recommend it! Ulysses was a great tour guide. We were lucky to met the owners who put their heart and soul into this paradise. We give a big 5 star to this tropical hideaway.
I stayed at Finca Rosa Blanca Inn with my mother for 2 days, and we absolutely fell in love with it. From the beautiful walking trails to the extremely helpful staff it was an unforgettable, one of a kind experience. A golf cart carried our luggage from the Reception office to our gorgeous little villa, El Cielo. This suite is spacious with a comfortable King bed, a variety of pillows and a view looking out to forested hills. The highlight of this room is the private outdoor jacuzzi overlooking the jungle. We slept very well here. The coffee farm tour was outstanding, our tour guide Ulysses was super knowledgeable about coffee, the farm itself and the flora and fauna of Costa Rica. We had a lot of fun. We got to meet the owner, Glenn, who is a kind soul who is dedicated to the art of producing high-quality organic coffee. The restaurant, El Tigre Vestido serves delicious food with excellent service. I was impressed with their inventive menu made with local produce and traditional Costa Rican ingredients. Access to Finca Rosa Blanca is easy. The grounds are very quiet and peaceful. The gardens are beautifully landscaped, all nature lovers will be in heaven here. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you Finca Rosa Blanca!…
