What a lovely surprise when we arrived at Finca Rosa Blanca (White Rose Farm). It is a joy to the eye as soon as you arrive. Low rise buildings with white washed walls that blend in with the forest around it. Spectacular views towards San Jose as the land falls away. Lovely restaurant and bar area with an excellent menu....

Dear John I'm glad that you had such a lovely surprise when you arrived at Finca Rosa Blanca. That does literally translate to white rose farm, but as you probably noticed we do not have any white roses on our grounds, as we named the hotel after a beautiful poem from José Marti the talented Cuban poet, who wrote (my...

We spent our last night in Costa Rica here and it's a beautiful little hotel with a nice pool and a fantastic coffee plantation tour. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and this tour should not be missed! We really enjoyed learning about their organic coffee farming process and walking through the beautiful plantation. The rooms were beautifully decorated with...

Dear Khristina We are very glad that you enjoyed your time at Finca Rosa Blanca, and had enough time to do some of the tours we offer, and in particular the highlight tour which is touring the coffee farm with Ulises our guide. Being great art lovers, as well as coffee drinkers, the whole hotel grounds, rooms, and restaurant are...

After three weeks 'on the road' arriving here at the end of our holiday we were sorry we had not allowed longer here just to 'chill out'. Our quiet stone cabin in the gardens had its own balcony, kitchenette and was close to the solar heated pool. After arriving in pouring rain we were welcomed into the dining room with...

Dear SussexGadfly We always appreciate when our guests write reviews and it is really nice to hear how tranquil and "chilled out" you felt while at Finca Rosa Blanca. Some people are confused when they read about our guests referring to the fireplaces in the hotel and in our restaurant, because as you know during the day we enjoy temperatures...

We stayed at this hotel primarily due to its close proximity to the airport on our way out of Costa Rica. The hotel is quite difficult to find and not well sign posted in the middle of a barrio in Santa Barbara. We were warmly welcomed at reception and checked in quickly with a refreshing welcome juice. Our room was...

Dear citybreakaddict Thanks for writing in and sharing your detailed notes on your stay and experiences in our small inn. I know we are a little bit off the beaten path, we are up a small road in the middle of the premier coffee growing region of Costa Rica, and although we do have signs on the main roads Costa...

We drove here straight after a long flight from the UK and a long delay in immigration, so arrived feeling tired and grubby. However, we immediately felt much better when we saw our beautiful spacious and luxurious room. We loved the locally sourced toiletries and the huge shower and jacuzzi with a view. The food in the restaurant was amazing...

Dear Catrionamhammer, Thanks for sharing your experience with us. We know how difficult the trip from Europe can be, in fact my wife Terry and I, have a daughter who lives in London and often visit their (and always have a wonderful time!) We went straight to the Finca Rosa Blanca after flying into San Jose (around a 30 mins taxi journey). And, it was like entering a different world! The hotel is set within it's own lush grounds, adjacent to it's coffee plantation. A very traditional and characterful Costa Rican hotel, which used to be the owner's home. All the staff are...

A SHORT drive is keeping you away from what could be a very memorable weekend! This eco friendly self sustained hotel is an amazing place to simply spend the night at. Once you go pass Pablo over in the front desk (great attitude) I strongly recommend you take the coffee tour with Ulises (tour guide) he will make your money...

Lovely hotel quite close to the airport but still secluded and quiet. Excellent restaurant and bar area and delightful helpful staff. Fabulous breakfast. Dear ScotlandEartha.. Thank you so much for sending in your review, I know it takes time. And please forgive us for the humidity, we are a somewhat humid area during the rainy season, (when you were here).
