What a gem this was to find! Off the beaten track but worth the journey. The hosts are wonderful and the meal was superb. Walking around the property and the along the nearby roads was delightful in perfect fall weather. Our room was spacious and well decorated and clean. The dining room and adjacent bar room beautiful. Our only regret... More

We stayed for a week in a roulotte (one of those gypsie wagons). The beds were comfortable but small. Good shower, bathroom and kitchenette. Campfires and bbqs with the guests from the other two roulottes. A bit less connected to the hotel and gites guests. The owners are warm, friendly people. You can feel their drive in everything you see.... More

My wife and I booked the new-year’s eve arrangement for Abbaye du Palais: three nights with two three course dinners, one five course dinner (all wines during the dinners included); champagne brunch on January 1st. The rooms of Abbaye du Palais are very nicely furnished with antique furniture and the bathrooms are very comfortable and complete. Ancient iron bathtub and... More

Fabulous place and the owners couldn't do enough for us. We stayed 2 nights at the start of our cycling tour of Limousin and it was fantastic. There was a fabulous view from the lovely and grand bedroom, and the bathroom and shower was excellent. The food Martin cooked was absolutely wonderful and we couldn't recommend it enough to people.... More

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. Lovely old abbey run by an enthusiastic couple. We had a lovely courtyard room, very quiet and clean. Fabulous bath and power shower. Breakfast was good, boiled eggs, fresh croissants and baguette, coffee tea and so on. We also ate dinner here both nights, lovely meals cooked by a talented chef.... More

We stayed here for two nights as a base for exploring this region of Limousin. Very warm welcome. Great food and company. We stayed in the main building but there are also gites in the grounds. Would thoroughly recommend it.

We stayed here for one night as part of a driving holiday through France. This place is simply stunning in every respect. The owners and staff gave a very warm welcome. Our room was beautiful with fabulous floorboards and an excellent bathroom. The grounds are amazing, with the ruined tower and delightful chapel. I wish we could have spent more... More

An amazing place, with wonderful hospitality. the place has everything to get away from the city. I experienced great days of relaxation! I am a foody, the diners prepared by Martijn and served in front of the big fireplace.. I believe that says enough. The rooms are magnificent and the area is great for walks and activities to get peace-of-mind,... More

One single word to describe the experience of staying at Abbaye - a harmony. And it is absolutely in everything over there, but especially the owners who created a such an ambiance. Thank you for the wonderful stay and for the service of sending me my forgotten pillow. A special word about breakfast - heavenly good!!!
