Detailed Reviews
I felt the strong need to write this review as staying at plum eco house was one of the highlights of my Vietnam trip.
Set comfortably outside of sapa town in Ta van, the homestay is quiet and peaceful and surrounded by beautiful scenery. We shared a family dinner and had the best food I ate in Vietnam- Rose is a great cook 😊
Rose and Rex organised a 15k hike for us with one of the local guides who showed us the rice Patties, neighbouring villages, a waterfall, and her home where we had lunch.
A beautiful welcoming family, thanks so much rose and Rex.

The Plum Eco House is located a little outside of Sa Pa. If you don't mind paying around €10 for a taxi from Sa Pa (it wasn't a problem for us, as there were four of us), this is a great way to avoid the tourist hustle and bustle of Sa Pa.
The owners, Rose and Rex, are incredibly friendly and fulfill all the wishes that guests could have. There is a fireplace in the lounge and you can sit there very comfortably. From our wood-paneled room you have a fantastic view of the mountains. The room has heating and there is even an electric blanket. The shower works perfectly.
Everything is very individual and designed with a lot of wood.
Rose and Rex also run a restaurant that guests from outside also come to. There is an incredibly extensive menu and everything is delicious. The prices are very reasonable, even by Vietnamese standards.
Conclusion: We can thoroughly recommend the Plum Eco House.

This place is heaven on earth! A lovely family homestay ran by an amazing couple Rex and Rose and their young son! We were welcomed from the second we got out the taxi , they carried our bags and made us feel at home straight away. We stayed in a private room with a Mountain View, the room was immaculate, so cosy and comfortable and the view was out of this world. Rex and Rose helped us with booking a trek and renting motorbikes and everything else we needed. Breakfast included was great and the restaurant and menu cooked by Rose was some of the best food we have eaten in Vietnam, hands down! Loads of selection for meat eaters vegetarians and vegans! Wifi strong and both speak excellent English!
We originally booked for 3 days but ended up extending to 5 days because we just couldn’t bring ourselves to leave! Thank you so much Rex and Rose, you really made our trip special, we will definitely be back again!

Stayed here for two nights and we had a lovely stay.
We booked the chalet and it had a cozy, rustic design and was very spacious. Due to the time of year we came (early December) it was rather chilly and we were worried it would be cold in the evenings. But between the heating pad on the mattress and the thick blanket, we were nice and warm while sleeping. The bathroom was clean and tidy and the shower had hot water (just give it 10-15 mins to warm up).
They also have a restaurant, which has a wide selection of food and beverages. Everything we ate tasted delicious- especially the eggplant vegetable dish. The food was fairly priced, especially considering how generous the portions were.
Rose and Rex are the owners and they are such kind and thoughtful people. They went above and beyond by helping arrange our taxi there/back (and checking in to make sure we made our bus after our taxi was late), gave us travel suggestions for the rest of our Vietnam trip, and even surprised us for our honeymoon. While the weather wasn't the best when we visited, our stay at the Plum Eco House was well worth the visit! Plus, they have the most adorable puppies.

We chose our accommodation based on the reviews and were not disappointed. The owners were very nice, very helpful and were really very pleasant hosts. The food deserves special mention and was highly recommended. Everything was delicious, we ate there every day, both in the morning, at lunchtime and in the evening, and we can only recommend it. The only thing worth mentioning is the thin walls in the rooms. We thought our heated bed was great and very comfortable.

Beautiful homestay with lovely hosts. Rooms are very clean with a beautiful view of the mountains. It's a little bit away from Sapa, but you have wonderful landscape in-between rice fields. The hosts are very kind and help you with every request you have. Also ask for hiking trips. We had a very good and recommended stay here!

We had a blissful stay at this highly regarded lodging. You couldn’t ask for a better location in the picturesque Ta Van Valley away from the frenzy and bright lights of Sapa.
Rose and Rex (the proprietors) are two of the most genuine and adorable people you could hope to meet. They have developed a homely, quirky and comfortable residence with cosy rooms, intricate soft furnishings, and elegant bathrooms.
Rose more than lives up to her reputation as a legendary cook. We enjoyed all our food but her spicy eggplant and the family banquet she prepared for us were real highlights of our trip. As a result, we had practically all our meals there. The portions and prices were far too generous for the prices charged. In addition to satisfying our stomachs, Rose took care of many other aspects of our trip (pick up and drop off at Sapa, day trek and lunch with a fantastic local guide Mimi - highly recommended) and even accommodated us in a room for an extra half day after check out without charge so we could relax and freshen up before our night bus. She was full of helpful tips and advice which helped us to make the most of our time in Sapa.
The staff (and Bailey her dog) were all very sweet, fun and welcoming. Even though we were only there for 3 days, by the end we felt like part of the family and were sad to leave. We would love to return one day.
