As others have said, the staff and service are the reason for staying here. The grounds and buildings and rooms are immaculate and the food is nice, but the staff make everything so much better. This was such a relaxing place to stay for a week. The beach is quieter than Hermosa, which was fine by us. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. We do suggest having a car if you want to explore other parts or CR. I would also suggest taking advantage of Kevin and his tour company (information at the front desk) to get a feel for the ecosystems of CR. Special thanks to Andreja in the restaurant.
We could not have been happier staying here. Our room was clean, the pool was beautiful, the food in the restaurant was delicious, but the best part was the wonderful staff, especially Roberto in the restaurant/bar and Albero at the reception desk…they went above and beyond!
The most relaxing resort ever. Beautiful landscaping. Refreshing pool. Spectacular view of the ocean. The breeze and sun everyday can't be beat. The food and drinks were fabulous. The staff go above and beyond to give exceptional trusted service. Our waitress Issa was amazing, adorable and made the experience so memorable. Jeremy took care of us and was so friendly each day. We will definitely be back. I highly recommend this resort.
I never write reviews but I simply had to for this hotel. My friend and I had a last minute one night stay here due to a flight cancellation. We came in frustrated and exhausted from our tribulations at the airport but we’re immediately greeted with smiles and incredible service that turned our moods right around. Angie at the front desk should be called ANGEL instead. She was so kind and immediately got us drinks and a snack. She gave us an area to hold our bags and change to hang out at the beach / pool until our room was ready. She truly went above and beyond to ensure our time here was amazing. Angie truly gives the word hospitality a whole new meaning. The pool is pristine with plenty of sunny and shady areas to accommodate all types of pool goers. Peaceful and relaxing. The beach area has more comfortable loungers and hammocks sit in and enjoy the view. The food and service are awesome as well! The rooms are incredibly clean and inviting. Wonderful showers and bathrooms with so much space. The bed is comfortable, and the sitting room with a view over the garden is such a wonderful touch. In summary, if you are visiting Costa Rica, this is the place you want to experience it from. It has all the components of a wonderful relaxing beach vacation with the perfect touches you can only get in Costa Rica- monkeys and iguanas lounging by the pool with you! I cannot recommend this place more!…
The highlight with our stay was the quality of food. The head chef, Randall, is one of the best chefs I have come across and we have travelled all over the world. We never had a bad meal and my wife is sensitive to gluten and he was extremely accommodating and he delivered very well with the meals we had at the resort. If the food wasn’t good, this would be a big issue at this resort if you do not have a vehicle and taking Uber or taxi can be very expensive if you always have to leave the resort to dine out. We stayed 6 nights and only dined out for supper 1 night off the property. The quality of the food was top notch. Another highlight at the resort was the front desk staff. Angie and Alberto who I often dealt with was very attentive and helpful. The rooms were also very clean with a comfortable bed. The hammocks on the beach was also a highlight. This is a very quiet resort and was a great place for some downtime. My recommendation is to keep your staff and treat them well as they really make this resort come to life.…
The hotel is old and dated, but priced accordingly. No complaints there. The restaurant tried to give themselves a $500 tip, which I was glad to catch on checkout review. This is probably because we complained that our “surf and turf” dinner which was supposed to be fillet mignon and shrimp, was TILAPIA with 2 little shrimps and a meatball-sized cube of steak. Fish was never part of the surf and turf, and if they ran out of shrimp or something they could have said something and maybe offered to pair a quality fish or lobster if we opted to stay with the most expensive option on their menu. The cerviche was also ver sub par. They used Conker Eel, which I had never eaten before, and now I know why. There are hundreds of delicious mahi-mahi, tuna, amberjack, etc at the local fish market but they found a giant, tough, chewy conker eel to serve up to their guests instead. Saved a colon I’m sure. The hotel is on the beach but the beach here is not nice. Massive baitfish schools getting hammered all day by predator fish, sharks and sea birds. Didn’t swim in what I consider dangerous and unsanitary water. Hermosa beach about 15 min away is much much nicer.…
Very relaxing place with great staff that give you special attention and make accommodations as needed. Any help is quickly turned around this place, it almost felt like we were on private vacation property, great food… beautiful!!!
We had a short stay at the hotel. Joseph at reception is very helpful and warm host. The location is excellent. Many thanks for hospitality and for accomadating our small requests. My family quite liked breakfast and lunch.
The hotel is located near the beach in which jungle vegetation abounds, accompanied by the animal world that it entails. It is not necessary to leave the hotel to be able to enjoy a beautiful jungle landscape, next to a beautiful beach. From the moment we arrived at the hotel on the first day (9/Nov/2022) to the last (16/Nov/2022/), we were treated with immeasurable affection. I traveled to Costa Rica with my parents, two elderly people with medical conditions that seemed to be a great inconvenience for doing any activity. The first inconvenience came when I realized that the family room, which was the one I had chosen myself, was too far from the restaurant for my parents to go and return alone, since my mother does not see well and my father is often misled. The room was very spacious with lovely garden views, but the problem was the distance to the restaurant for two people with certain mobility problems. We spent the first night in that room, which by the way I have to say, the silence and calm prevailed throughout the night. During breakfast, I commented my concerns about the distance from the room to the restaurant to a very nice waitress called "Yanis". She then told the hotel manager (Isaack) who very kindly immediately looked for all possible solutions for me to choose other rooms that would interest me the most for my concerns. They put us so close to the restaurant that I could have my evening tea in the restaurant looking at the door of our new room. From then on, my parents and I felt like the most pampered and cared for people in the world. They were aware of everything we needed. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The hotel had everything I was looking for. Jungle, sea, animals, peace, tranquility, charm, but best of all, the people who work there, because they are special and make you feel special. Thank you for helping me so much with my parents. You made what seemed difficult, easier. Thank you for that affectionate treatment towards two unknown elderly people. Thank you for an unforgettable vacation for my parents and me.…
We visited this resort as part of a group. The staff was uniformly friendly and expert. The restaurant was excellent. The pool was very pleasant. We had one problem with the room, and someone was dispatched to fix it right away. The setting of this resort is very beautiful, and it fronts on the water. The beach size is small, but if you want something bigger, there are plenty of beaches in both directions on the highway. We understand that the resort is under new management, and they seem to be working hard to make everything super nice.
