I recently visited Cambodia on a solo trip and booked Koulen Central for 4 nights for £40 a night, this hotel and everything it has to offer far exceeded all expectations. I was taken aback by the reception area and also lobby space on the 2nd floor where my room was with its elegant tiles, luxury furniture and hanging light fittings. My room was spacious and clean, the extra large bed was plenty for just me that’s for sure. My room came with robes and slippers which I certainly didn’t get at the other 2 hotels on my trip. The hotel is quite central but there’s no noise disturbances and the hotel has security who are very diligent so if a tuk tuk or someone is lingering for too long they are directed away appropriately. I booked a sunrise Angkor wat tour before arriving and as it’s a 4am pick up the hotel sort breakfast to-go bags for anyone who would like them which is a bonus. The rooftop has 3 pools of different sizes and a good number of sun loungers. There is no reserving of beds with towels and you could get food and drink service by the pool from 11.30am, it’s so peaceful up there, I loved it! I would 100% choose to stay here if I visited Siem Reap again and cannot recommend it enough.

Koulen Central Hotel is a newly opened luxury property with lots of shiny white/gray marble and dark red mahogany-toned wood. Equally important is the staff, well trained, gracious and welcoming.
After spending 30 nights at Koulen Central I came to appreciate the tremendous effort to please guests. Special requests are handled with a smile. The front desk and doormen are always ready with a greeting when you leave or return. The breakfast wait staff offers you cooked-to-order items not on the long buffet tables. Omelets and noodles also are prepared to order.
The rooms are spacious enough with a wardrobe and long table for work or supplies. The forest mural is a great touch, tastefully bringing the outdoors to your room. The balcony rooms are a worthy upgrade with lots of natural light. The swimming pools and loungers on the top floor are well designed for guests. The spa is free to guests and the men’s facility features a sauna, steam room and whirlpool with lockers.
The skybar on the fifth floor has an open air bar and restaurant. The party I had with about a dozen friends was handled with attentive staff. Almost all the menu items were tried and I was really surprised hotel food could be so fresh and expertly prepared.
This property was a victim of the pandemic, finished but unopened until a year ago. So it is new, but not full of glitches or problems common to new construction. The mall on the first and second floors is empty at this time, waiting for a general revival to tourism and thus employment in this city.
What makes this hotel very special is the staff, which like the kitchen personnel, were obviously hired with care and expertise. In my month in residence, I cannot remember a single miscue from anyone. They are truly hard-working and dedicated people to anticipate your needs and make sure you are pleased. The finest physical hotel facility can be overshadowed by an indifferent staff. This hotel combines a modern tasteful property with service delivered by a staff which executes true hospitality.

This is my second stays, first stay was in couple months ago and this time on water festival 2024. As a Cambodian who used to work in hotel while studying, I am so satisfied with the customer service . Staffs are very nice from check in , during the stay . I’m writing this while I’m still staying here haha. The price is worth it because the hotel is huge with full facilities (I love how they have hot tube, cold tube , sauna and steam which are cleaned frequently. Staffs at the gym are very nice especially Chorvan and another lady. Always smiley and respectful.
The breakfast is superb , as I bring friends from Australia to visit cambodia I love how they have great selections from western to the local ones (pork with rice, noodle , and Cambodian noodle (num pajok) as my friends got to try all of that without me having to bring them to different places haha.
Location is super central as its name . Walkable to anywhere especially Pubstreet.
Whoever reads this, trust me, your money will be worth it.

The good: Very big and modern room, good breakfast buffet, good location very central in town, partially very good service.
The bad: The standard hotel room was facing a small and dark inner court and public hallway, so no privacy or day light. While the hotel can't change the room it could at least inform about that during the booking. Also it can be very loud from the hallway. Shower had no door so flooded the bathroom every time when taking a shower. Internet not safe as not password protected, Housekeeping missed a few things like emptying the trash, cleaning the mirror and the likes. Also when I asked for the shower gel to get refilled they brought me a toothbrush instead. The very good breakfast was to start at 6am but when I wanted to get my breakfast before my morning flight the breakfast was only ready at 645h, in the meantime the staff completely ignored me.
So while the hotel is nice and new, for the price and the four stars there's still lots to improve.

Very large hotel that is quite sparse. Room large as had a junior suite, probably too big. Room was nice had a balcony however there are no views only the traffic and street view. Room: shower Luke warm water only. Last day had hot water. For such a big room the TV was very small. Complimentary water each day, however on arrival we assumed the 2 water bottles in the room were Complimentary however not so. The Complimentary water comes in bottles and our room was not stocked properly so ended up with a high charge for water. Was not impressed. Pool area nice but can only accommodate up to 15 - 17 people. 2 pools. 1 has a swim up bar which was not open and the water level only thigh high. More like a kids pool so no real benefit. They are quick to run out of pool towels and when they do they then supply hand towels instead. Suggest they order in more pool towels. Swimming pools are not deep. Breakfast: coffee cold every day we were there (3) otherwise an average spread. All staff friendly but the place lacks atmosphere. Would not book again.

Absolutely glamorous hotel located in a prime central location in Siem Reap. This hotel is 5 star by Australian standards. It feels luxurious as soon as you walk into the foyer. Located only a few blocks away from pub street and the night markets its position really couldn’t be any better. The hotel is big and very spacious. We had the pleasure of 4 nights at the hotel. The rooftop pools and bar were fantastic. A very relaxing area with plenty of sun beds. Breakfast was really good with a great variety of foods. One thing they could improve on is the breakfast juices. They serve Pumpkin juice (which I and many others confused for orange juice), Roselle juice, water and soy milk. Orange, apple or tropical juice would be nice. Our family room was absolutely massive with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a weird sitting area and a huge outdoor balcony which was bigger than most of the hotel rooms we had on our trip. The only problem was it had 2 indoor dining chairs out on the deck that were positioned about 3 metres apart and nothing else. No table or sun beds, etc. Our daughter is coeliac and when we mentioned this at breakfast, Sok Chesda, the operations manager came to our table and introduced himself and he introduced the chef who was going to prepare gluten free pancakes especially for her. They take gluten free very seriously. From that point on Sok Chesda made an effort to make sure we were comfortable and happy with the hotels services. We used the hotels luxurious van for airport transfers and the price worked out exactly the same as the Grab quotes. I wouldn’t hesitate in returning to this hotel and will recommend it to my friends.

My room was massive, there was a lot of room and it felt very comfortable. Room service come every day to clean but you also have the option not to have room service.
There has been a lot of care put into the hotel, from the decor to the delicate music they play in the corridors but the best part of my stay was how helpful and friendly the staff are here.
At breakfast, I was greeted by many friendly staff notably Vattey who made omelettes and noodle soup fresh to order. I also tried out the restaurant, whilst it’s more expensive than some outside restaurants I was happy with the quality of food.
Kolab was another member of staff in reception who was very helpful and polite with any queries that I had about the hotel or Siem Reap city.
The facilities were great too, notably the gym and sauna/steam room as well as the pool which were great places to relax when I wasn’t feeling like sightseeing.
Overall, great experience! Only thing which would be great if there were more dairy free and veggie options at the breakfast for people who may have allergies and dietary restrictions :)

Very friendly and helpful staff. We got cocktails from Chhut. Lovely swimming pool. Lovely relaxed. If you're in the area, really go. The cocktails are very affordable and Chhut makes sure you don't want for anything. Good start to our holiday.

Great neighborhood with lots of facilities and restaurants nearby. Staff went out of their way to help with requests. Clean and amenities included. Convenient location, very comfortable accommodations, communicative staff which were very helpful during our stay. The beds are very comfortable and there are ample pillows. It is in a great location and walking distance to shops, tourist destinations, restaurants and they can provide transportation with electric car.
