I booked this hotel purely for the rooftop pool, I wanted somewhere to lay out in the sun.

This hotel looked exactly like the photos, the rooftop area and pool was great and got a lot of sun. The ground level pool was also quite big. The rooms had good facilities, a little bit smaller compared to some other hotels I stayed in the area.

The breakfast was great, the had menu items that they cooked fresh as well as the standard buffet items.

I would say this is probably more suited to couples or families, the hotel is right in the middle of the city part and within walking distance to pub street.

The only downside for me is that I preferred the hotel I stayed at closer to the river side, as there were more local restaurants and shops around and the the staff were extremely friendly at my previously reviewed hotel.

The Aviary is up there with one of the best hotels of my holiday , absolutely insane style with 2 pools and the most amazing staff - sooo good. (Rooftop pool and one on ground floor which out of the sun and kids tend to use , genius as rooftop was child free) We had like a suite on 3rd floor and was just outstanding. The place so cool with restaurants and bakery all in the building.

Location is short walk from pub street and Angkor itself, arranged a short 3 hour tour on Tuk Tuk for under 20 dollars, was so hot we just didn’t want a full day tour.

Absolutely worth every penny .. actually baffled as seemed quite empty , having breakfast on our own every morning.

We stayed in connecting rooms as a family of four, including two junior high school students. The rooms were very spacious and open, clean and stylish, and we were able to spend our stay extremely comfortably. The staff were smiling and attentive, so we were able to stay with peace of mind. We had forgotten to print the Angkor Wat admission pass we had purchased online, and we had trouble when we arrived at the site, but when we asked the staff, they were happy to print it for us. We are grateful. The location is perfect, with the Old Market and Pub Street within walking distance, and there is also a stylish area called Kandal Village nearby, so we enjoyed walking around the city a lot after returning from the Angkor Wat tour.

Room: Kingfisher Deluxe Room

Positive:
Location 5* - in centre of town within walking distance of restaurants and markets

Facilities 4* - great rooftop pool (no shade) and bar and shady ground floor pool;
Spa - we had an excellent massage;
Flock Cafe serving food, snacks, etc. - also available in rooftop bar - limited choice but good qualty. Japanese restaurant we didn't try.
Room was large, well fitted with big bathroom, 2 washbasins, great shower and big bath. Big safe and bonus of several free sockets that accepted uk, European and US plugs so need for adapters
Service - generally excellent from every member of staff.

Need for improvement
Breakfast limited choice. Made to order cold poached eggs - sent back. Staff seemed unable to keep up with demand when it got busy. Coffee machine caused queues.
Step up in bedroom to bed area risks a fall if one forgets the step at night in the dark. Also wonder about lack of handrails in shower and bath. There are also some risks of injury around the steps near the rooftop pool and the route to the gym is a workout in itself.

Would we stay there again?
Yes!

Recently stayed here at the Aviary for a 5 night stay in Siem Reap and I have to say it was OK.
First the good stuff, the rooms were spotlessly clean with everything you could want. We stayed in a Sarun Suite on the 3rd floor and we count have asked for more really. Room cleaned twice a day, comfortable bed, plenty of drinking water. All good.
The staff whether it be on reception, the restaurants, the pool the bar were always smiling, very helpful and always polite and friendly.
The location of the hotel is spot on for exploring pub street and the surrounding area as it is only a 5 minute walk away but far enough away to not be impacted or noisy. However not the hotels fault but the abandoned bank next door with its broken glass and rubbish makes for a eyesore.
The choice of 2 pools is great as the upper pool is in full sun and can be a little hot by mid afternoon, where as the lower pool is great to cool off in the afternoon.

Now for the not so good stuff. Breakfast is pretty poor if I am honest. We attempted it every morning and with the exception of the noodle soup and the omelette, virtually everything we ordered turned up cold whether that be the bacon, hash brown, tomato made no difference. Breakfast really needs some attention. The yoghurt is sat in a bow from the 6.30am start time not in ice to keep keep cool, same with the cold cut meats, really should be on ice and covered but isn't.
Again I can't say enough how friendly and nice the breakfast stay were, it was just the offering that needs attention in our opinion.
Overall a nice stay in a different hotel for us in Siem Reap. Worth Considering for the cost we paid,

Loved this hotel. The staff just couldn’t do enough for us - we really felt their care.
Our Kingfisher room was spacious and very clean. The location is terrific - a short walk to the old market and very close to the Pub Street area. We enjoyed a couple of meals at the Plumage restaurant. The Flock coffee shop was terrific - had all our favourite coffees - hot and iced as well as fresh fruit drinks and Bubble Tea. The staff in The Flock was genuinely happy to provide room service a few times when we returned after sightseeing and felt like a cold drink or snack. They offered - we were not expecting it when we said we were just going to take drinks etc to our room. The Glide bar was very nice but it was quite humid in the late afternoon as it is open air, nice breeze when we were there.
Nice pool and outdoor area. The breakfast was good but not a lot of offerings in the buffet - however we could order various cooked breakfast items.

Did we mention the staff??
They arranged show tickets for us, organized transportation to & from the venue. They really made us feel special.

Needless to say, we highly recommend this hotel. A solid 4 star!

I had the most AMAZING time at this beautiful hotel! Every single one of the staff was so attentive, helpful and genuinely happy and kind. The location is amazing and easily walkable to restaurants, grocery stores, the river path and Pub Street which is where we ate dinner each night!

The hotel is so beautiful and the rooftop pool (1 of 2) is the perfect place to relax after spending hot and humid days sightseeing. We ate the (complimentary) breakfast every morning and lunch at the pool a few of the days during our stay and all of the food was very good.

I actually think this hotel was better in person and I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and would recommend to anyone!

I did enjoy the beautiful hotel room, very comfortable bed and there was a sofa in the room. I asked to change rooms once I noticed the 5G tower directly opposite my balcony, and I was moved without too many questions. One day I was sick in bed and the lovely receptionist Sofie came to my assistance with ice for my head and words of comfort. The elevator was out of order for my stay, but the stairs are easy. The hotel provided breakfast, but since I had a sunrise tour, my breakfast was packed up for me to take on the tour. The upper pool is refreshing, although sometimes the music is set too loud. The lower pool was not populated the entire time I was there, perhaps because of the school next door which can be loud until about 5-6pm. The room was quiet and very stylish.

I have stayed at the Aviary Hotel twice, first in late November 23 and again in January 24. I intended to fly back to SR in late December but as the Aviary was full, I decided to postpone my trip until I could stay there. I stayed both times in a Sambok room which is very nice and has plenty of space, which I like. In both my business and personal travels over the years, I have stayed in many hotels in many cities ranging from high-end to budget. The Aviary is a fantastic 4* boutique hotel but what it offers above the rest is their magnificent staff. You don't remember the room, you remember the interactions with all the staff; at least I do.
The staff at the Aviary are fantastic – always a friendly greeting, their smile is always present and they are more than happy to talk with you about your day, where you wish to go and if is there anything that they can do to assist you. I know many smaller hotels do the same (not the big chains) but it is in the delivery; it is not forced and it comes across to be genuine; which I think it is. That in itself makes staying at the Aviary something to look forward to.
The auxiliary functions of the hotel are fine – breakfast is OK, the cafe/restaurant adjacent to the hotel serves up very nice food, again with the same pleasant attitude of the staff, and the hotel's location is good. Around the corner is what you can almost call a supermarket (downsized) and should you wish to venture to Pub Street, it is a 10-minute walk away.
I highly recommend this hotel in SR. I will return. I am a golfer so I go to SR to play golf. I have been there many times and seen the fantastic temples also many times - enough is enough if you know what I mean!

Hi, if you google image "the aviary suites" and find photo where there is a bath tub in a open space (basically between the living room and bed) thats the room I stayed. So next to bath tub is the shower with glass door. Opposite shower is the toilet with wood door. Sorry rather difficult to explain. But I believe the Tailorbird should be normal. As they upgraded mine from Kingfisher to Sarus Crane Suite. Hope it helps

Hi we too organised a private guide before we arrived, but the hotel staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help, I think your price would be a bit higher than if you prearranged but your experience would still be great
