We had an amazing experience, definitely recommend. The food was really good, they had a lot of variety, unlimited drinks and if you have a sweet tooth you will love the desserts. The service was excellent, everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Really enjoyed this place, can't wait to return.
Captain Jose and his team (Maurice & Joseph) were amazing. They checked on us and answered all of our questions. Food was great! They even gave us tips on new items on the menu. Wonderful service and I hope to come back soon!
Just be a ware that you need to spend 1:30h more less to do check in. For me that is not a good start, specialty if we all have a reservation, so administration nows when we arrive.. I'm not sure it may be a check in only for costarricans, so you may be save from this and will be tried better.
Very nice resort. There is an adults only pool that was great - always had part of it in shade so good news for the easily sunburned. Rooms large, we had an ocean view. Staff very friendly, Rosemary the hostess at the Calypso restaurant was especially nice. Front desk always helpful. Food just ok, would have been good to have signs saying whether or not there was meat in the dish. Italian place was really good. Drinks were yummy. Only one place where you could get & drop off towels, which was a bit of a pain. Day trips very expensive (all in US dollars) and not worth the cost. Most of the guests seemed to be Costa Rican/spoke Spanish but at no point did we feel we were treated any differently. Nice store/shop off the lobby. Overall a very nice resort and a good experience.
Resort and pools were clean and well maintained. Drinks were average and typical. Food was sub-par and meat dishes were scarce. Specialty restaurants were nothing special. This resort appears to cater primarily to locals who are likely responsible for the over-rated reviews. Excursions and the guides that came with them were highlights. This was our first visit to Costa Rica and we’d return, but not to this resort. We are confident that there are better resorts even if a bit more expensive. Not a debacle, but rather disappointing.
Worst check in process I've ever seen, slow , not friendly staff, are not not comfortable to remain in line for an hole hour and very hot, not even close to 4 star hotels. El peor proceso de check-in que he experimentado, demasiado lento, personal poco calificado y área no apropiada con un calor insoportable para permanecer de pie una hora.
Went to this resort in 2020 February and returned in February 2023. Huge difference employees do not speak English. Buffet is horrible and caters to the locals. Was 35 and a/c only went to 24 which was lowest it would go. 2 hour bus ride from Liberia roads are horrible with traffic. Excursions are a rip off and over priced. Locals come on weekends so if you want a beach chair need to be up by 8 to get a chair if not earlier. Rooms in premium are outdated and no face clothes or lotion offered. Make sure you upgrade to premium !
WAIT! DO NOT BOOK your vacation in this hotel!!! I had the worst experience of my life when I arrived and checked in to this horrible hotel. After having booked on the EXPEDIA website, which I also trusted and had already made several reservations, I let myself believe that I was booking a high quality hotel with great all-inclusive service. However, it was not what I got when I arrived. First, the weather in the region did not help at all. It was 35 degrees Celcius and the only thing I was looking forward to was an air conditioned check in and a cold drink. When I arrived I was impressed as they separate people into two different places, one in a theater/gym where the actors were rehearsing for a show and the other in the original hotel reception. I believe that those who book the worst rooms go to the worst "theatre" like us and those who pay more go to the original reception which is more comfortable, but both do not have air conditioning. Yes, you will have to stand up for several minutes without air conditioning. Even though it is an "all inclusive" hotel, we were offered restaurants that we had to book, which did not have available dates. We had to choose only 2 of the 3 restaurants with opening hours that we didn't like, because the one we wanted didn't have an available date. After we finished checking in, we had to wait 1.5 hours for our room, so we went to lunch in the restaurant, which also didn't have air conditioning and smelled like sewage because one of the bathrooms was interdicted. The food was bad as it lacked diversity and the beer was warm. The waiter even brought a WARM BEER WITH ICE. I didn't understand that. I asked what beers they had and he replied that they only had Pilsen from Costa Rica. That is it, the hotel only serves the worst beer in Costa Rica and still warm. This they also do with wine and with other drinks. So be careful when you book an "all inclusive" hotel thinking that you are going to have a wonderful vacation, because it can be horrible like that day in my life. So, I went to the hotel reception and said I wasn't going to stay because I was feeling sick because of the heat and because the hotel wasn't up to my expectations. I asked them to make a refund, but they refused as well as the Expedia website that did not give a damn about this whole situation. So I suggest you guys stay FAR AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL and also don't book anything on the EXPEDIA website as they won't help you when you need it.…
I had a horrible experience, and all 11 other people we went with did as well. Where do I start. The front desk employees are awful and do not want to help guests. They promised us a $30 upgrade for free even though we were willing to pay for it, when we returned to upgrade, they had no idea what we were talking about and refused to help in anyway shape or form. They sprayed chemicals all other my mother in-law's shoes while cleaning the pool, staining them and then the front desk refused to help even though the employee who ruined the shoe acknowledged his mistake and told us the front desk would help. All reservations for dinner were booked out for a week even though the restaurants were half empty. Denis at the front desk needs a lesson on customer service, when complaining to him nicely, he said no managers were ever available and wrote down an email address to complain to that was not correct. He even covered up his name tag when I asked his name. All in all, I would not recommend this place to anyone. It's a joke that they even have customers, guests or any business. I only wish I could rate this lower that a 1.…
We booked two family suites for 5 adults and 2 children, facing the pool. The rooms were quite comfortable, although a bit dated. After a very long day touring, there was a lot of loud music by the pool with heavy bass reverberating through our room until after midnight. Unable to get them to turn the music or bass down, I asked for another suite further away. The customer service staff went out of their way to help us find a very satisfactory solution. The one thing I love most about Costa Rica are the Ticos (the Costa Rican people) who will go out of their way to be helpful. Thank you so much Maria. You made our stay memorable and positive. When we booked our tours, the agent found better pricing and solutions that enabled us to have private tours (for 7). We had an outstanding tour guide (Daniel) and driver (Cally) that made the long day a wonderful experience. We've another week and more tours, and are looking forward to more cherished memories we can share with our children and grandchildren.…
