Lia Beach is a lovely two huts resort run by heart of a friendly French-Indonesian couple. The bungalow are special, bamboo made, spacious and really clean. The beach is a perfect tropical beach of soft white sand. The atmosphere is really cozy and Marion and Epo are so welcoming and they care of the guests. Just in front of the resort there is the best reef of Togean, reef N6, you cannot miss it. I’m really thankful for had the possibility to spend some days in Lia Beach.

wow, where to start. Epo and Marion really put their heart in that resort and as guests you feel that this place is something special from the minute you get there. The bungalow was very clean and carefully arranged, and the food was always very fresh and tasty. mega jummy was the fact that the breakfast differed from day to day, and also the lunch/ dinner was creatively changed. In Lia Beach you feel no stress, there everything seems easy and days are filled with snorkeling either next to the beach or in the reefs nearby, hamoking on the white beach or play beach volley, learn how to do organic products or simply play cards in the shadow. Very unique is the jump into the "swimmingpool", a large sandy area in the middle of the ocean where you can jump from an old wooden bungalow right into turquiseblue water. Be aware to calculate enough time to get out of the Togeans from this point, best might be to plan the trip out in 2 days so you are not in a hurry and can adapt to weatherchange or lack of gasoline.

Wow, dear Anna & Philipp, where to start too, to thank you for this very nice review, written right after your left the Togeans and before you even got back home? We're really touched and grateful for your lovely words and your rapidity writing this review. I really love the "mega yummy" nod to that other review we discussed!!!! We truly enjoyed your presence here, your super good mood, easyness and the funny jokes you were making all the time. How great it is to be surrounded by playful guests, as well as curious and so friendly. Thank you very much for taking our DIY personal care products workshop, something we launched this summer and that we're happy people are interested in. Very nice moment shared with you guys. We were also very pleased to see how the connection with the 2 other guests was naturally made. Sometimes people just match together and the experience is so satisfying for us. So all in all, having you around was just pure pleasure: thank you so much for staying with us and for bringing your touch to Lia Beach. We hope to see you again: don't forget you have to take the second part of the hammocking course, to take you to the master's level ;) Sending love and hugs your way, Marion & Epo

Lia Beach is that dreamy, iddylic place that you always try to picture in your mind but you can't actually see and you're not even sure it exists,  that you hope you will someday and somehow visit.... and if you are lucky to get there you realize that you've finally reached it, you've finally reached paradise. Now it's time to disconnect and just take it in, peace, calmness, stilness, no distractions... If 'Tranquility is a beach state of mind'  than Lia Beach is a tranquility state of mind. Marion and Epo, I think about Lia Beach all the time, serenity is not easily achievable, it's hard work and I am so lucky for being able to have a taste of it while on my Indonesia trip and for that I thank you with all my heart. Marion and Epo are amazing people and they made me feel as part of their family, they were so helpful and sweet, I remember my sunburn and the aloe vera from Epo's mum  that saved me...and the food....the food is so good...o and I was the first single female traveller to get there hehe.  I can honestly go forever and ever in talking about my time at Lia Beach and in the same time there are no words to describe the experience and I can't recommend it enough and I know it can be so difficult to get there but it's so worthed it. I initially booked for 9 nights and ended up changing flights and bookings and my intinerary just to stay a bit longer and it still wasn't enough..and now, 1 year later, I find myself not wanting any other beach holiday if it's not at Lia Beach and hope to be able to get there soon. Marion and Epo and all the team, thank you!

Oh my god Rebecca, this is one of the best reviews ever!!!!! You can't imagine how happy we are reading your words, and how touching they are to us. The fact that you cherished your stay with us so much, to such an extent that you think about it all the time and don't want any other beach holiday if not at Lia Beach! Wow, these are precious words and feelings and we can't thank you enough for writing a review with such a deep meaning and such amazing qualifying terms!!! You are a gem, it was so great to have you with us for 12 nights and to share such meaningful moments with you. Deep conversations, fun games, and just your overall company was so pleasant and so natural, the kind of relationships you create when you feel on the same page with someone. That kind of encounters is like magical, you know, when people just connect together. We had that with you. And knowing you're still thinking about Lia Beach a year later shows the feeling was mutual. How deeply satisfying and rewarding! Connecting with our guests on such a level is the main reason why we do what we do. It's all about sharing: giving and recieving in a kindly way. We're truly grateful for having you at our place, and for you sharing your experience with other travelers. We miss you Rebecca, and we really hope to see you again :) Thank YOU from the bottom of our hearts. Marion & Epo

We were blown away by our experience at Lia Beach! We can't thank Marion enough, beginning with helping to organize our boat trips -- she really went above and beyond to help us get to and from the island. In that sense, she helped our whole holiday go smoothly! About the resort itself: the bamboo "cathedral" bungalow is gorgeously crafted, and very comfortable, with a big deck and western-style flush toilet and shower. You share the white-sand beach with just one other bungalow; the privacy and seclusion are the ultimate luxury. Note that it is a quite wild island, so there will be insects. As for activities, boat trips to different reefs are easy to organize, and we loved the coral and turquoise blue water at Reef 6 so much that we went 3 times :) Aside from snorkeling trips, there isn't very much to "do," so do not come with a big list of activities or excursions. The beauty of this place is to relax -- read, talk, sleep in a hammock, walk and swim around, snorkel, take in the night time stars, and eat! Mealtimes were especially lovely, with delicious Indonesian and European fare, all made from Marion and the local cooks' sumptuous recipes. We had fresh fish every day and the food was the best we had in Indonesia. A special thank you to Marion, Epo and the staff for making my birthday so memorable, with homemade "chocolat fondant" cake with candles! It was unforgettable and we only wish we could go back.

It was an amazing experience at Lia Beach. You basically have a bay all for your self and the million fishes swimming around you. The food is the best not only in Togeans, but the whole Sulawesi and even Indonesia (Bali psss ;-) The owners Marion and Epo and the whole staff always go beyond their mind to make your stay the amazing experience you always dreamt about. Luckily it is not an easy place to reach (almost no tourists around even in high season), but Marion is also the best in helping arranging your transportation so that you don't get lost in translation. Just come to Togeans and just stay here, a dream will come true!!!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this serene paradise. Marion and Epo are fantastic hosts who made us feel at home from the very first minute. We stayed in Bahia Tomini as well, but we liked the food in Lia Beach even better: every meal was delicious, ranging from a chocolate cake brownie with breakfast to even pommes rissolées as side dish in the evening; a very welcome variation in food after a month of traveling around sulawesi! In contrast with Bahia Tomini, Lia Beach felt way more secluded and serene giving us the perfect Robinson Crusoe feeling. Marion and Epo: we wish you all the best!

Marion and Epo are building a wonderful Eco Responsible Paradise in this remote Togean Area. The bay is amazing, with the cristal clear blue lagoon reef a short boat ride away, the magic white sandy beach cleaned evedy day by the staf (and fell free to join and help !) with a recycling program ! Great food, sourced as locally as possible, if not direcly fished by Epo. We were very happy to be proposed to release a Napoleon fish he just captured and buy other fishes to local fisherman instead for lunch : Napoleon is under fishing presure, and also one of the only fishes eating the reef-killing Crown Starfish. Great respect of the surrounding nature. We were also granted a unique village visit, not the kind hundred people have visited before you, but with its own jewels, starting by their villagers and their willingness to be taking their homework to sustainable world, from organic farming to rubish reduction and collection. Hope is there ! Beyon this, we had an unplanned urgent way back for private reason : Marion and Epo have been amazing, finding and negociating a chartered boat, organizing our air ticket and ground transport, making logistics a non-problem in this remote area and under a stressfull personnal situation. Marion, Epo, you are our angels... not so surprising to find you in this Paradise :) Take kare, we'll be back soon !

There's not much to add to my last review ("paradise really exists") and the fact that we came back within such a short time, stayed for 10 nights and brought friends with us should say more than enough :-) About the house reef (special information for Johannah S.): snorkeling includes some knowledge about marine life and nature. When snorkeling within the lagoon, don't expect a coral reef there but a lot of critters, anemones including all kind of clown fish, quite a lot of big lobsters (hiding in stones) and baby sharks (black tip). On high tide you can make it over the lagoon edge to snorkel at a very interesting house reef. We met some rays, a school of 7 real huge bumphead parrotfish (90cm), morays, a turtle and a lot of reef fishes there. For us the very best part of Lia Beach is that there are only 2 bungalows which turns it into our perfect hideaway. Terima kasih banyak Marion & Epo

Lia Beach resort has two amazing designed bungalows. Everything is designed to balance the comfort and the environment sustainability. The beach is gorgeous and the snorkelling offshore is just fine. The food is tasty and never disappoint. There is no aircon in the rooms but you will not need it because the bungalows are designed to be naturally cooled, also there is no wifi and no phone signal. The sunsets are lovely from the sunset point . The trip to the nearby reef 6 (best conserved in the Togean area) is a must do: the crystal clear waters of the lagoon are surreal. I spent 3 days here and have no time to boredom. The only thing I miss is the lack of walking tracks, the jungle start just behind the resort but there is no paths so it is easy to get lost. I think the management could involve local people to do short treks in the jungle to add more varietyof activities in the resort. The resort is still in development, more lush gardens and new bungalows are planned if the economy let it. If you planned to come here you must book in advance because the waiting list is large specially in high season. The minimal stay is 3 days and the fares a not suited for a budget traveller but if you can spare some money it is totally worth it. Coming here can be challenging so check my tips in the Kepulauan Togean Nasional Park section. I recommend this place for solitude lovers, nature enthusiastic people, environmental minded people and crowd haters. So bring your books, your music and your best friends and enjoy life.
