We changed 4 island on Togean and this was the best. We were in Lestari the only tourist, staff were superhelpful, bungalows clean and comfotrable, all resort clean (staff worked every minute to clean the grass from leaves, cottages, fishing...working a lot). Perfect location at opposite of Bajo village, but during night quiet. No rats and mice as in other resorts!! You have there many things you can do, it is very close to Pualu Papan village and also another village on Melenge island. Staff gave us the dogs to come with us, so we simply followed them! We did not met the owner, only boy staff and they were super friendly! Thanky you, Tereza + Martin from the Czech Republic!!

If you expect to be welcomed in a Togian resort, choose another one...the owner is even enough impolite to not tell you hello, good day or just hi when you arrive or meet him during your stay. He doesn't know what smiling means. His manager is also not really sympathetic. The young staff save the situation by their kindness. The middle room category is just acceptable. The mosquito net has many holes to let the insects coming in. If you have food, do not let in the room on the table otherwise, rats will start to eat during the night...even your watch rubber waistband may be eaten like it happened to me. The owner and the management did not apologise at all. The beach sand is nice but the water is full of plastic bags. More over the Lestari cottages is in front of Pulau Papan village with its noisy music at night and the numerous boats going there and there. Go faraway from this place if you are looking for quietness, respect of the environment and just an expected right hospitality.

This place is simply terrible, I can not understand that some people write good reviews, theres nothing good here, they ard not friendly at all, they are just looking for your money... The place is dirty, the food is rubbish and the owner is a criminal that should be in jail... He has a net full of Napoleon fish in the lagoon to offer to his Indonesian friends,he throughs the plastic rubbish in the middle of the sea, he spies the girls when they are in the shower !!!!! One of the staff told us about this and we discovered a whole in the wall of the bathroom... And if this is not enough be carefull because they cheat you with the prices and always put you more beers in the bill than you have really taken, that's why they like to make bonfires and play guitar in the night.. It's also very noisy because you are very near the village there are a lot if noisy boats passing all the time and you hear the Meskit very loud, at 4:30 am. The reef around us destroyed... NOTHING GOOD, SIC.

This resort was fantastic. it was surrounded by the ocean on two sides and is set opposite the Bajou village. it offers great snorkeling and fishing and i was never bored. The staff were great and very helpful and were always happy to light a bonfire on the beach at night and play some guitar to keep the guests entertained. I was even pleasantly suprised to be woken at 2am by Andy to catch a glimpse of a tarsier which they had spotted near the resort after i had told him i wanted to see one the day before. the rooms were comfy and clean and came with a couple of hammocks on the veranda to relax in and read a book. The food was good and they had live crayfish available for a good price which they would prepare and cook if you felt like something a bit special. I came intending to stay for 2 nights but ended up staying for four cause i enjoyed it so much. This part of Malenge island is definately a must see on ant trip to the Togians.

An excellent family-run resort set in a pristine location of Malenge island. Surrounded by white sandy beach, beautiful fringe coral, tranquil turquoise cove and background of evergreen forest. If you are looking for a tranquil, serene and peaceful resort, this place is highly recommended. Whether you are into snorkeling, diving, sunning by the beach or bird watching this is the place to be. You will also be greeted and welcome by a very friendly and hospitable Bugis family as soon as you arrived at the jetty. This is paradise waiting for you, especially so after a long boat journey.

The entrance of Malenge is located in a green bay, surrounded by mangroves and clear blue seawater. The cottages are located on the corner of the island. The staff is very friendly and helpfulll, the food is very nice and there are cottages in different price ranges. We had a cottage from the highest price range which was very clean and nice with a separate bathroom with running water and a shower. The location is nice since you have a nice view on the village of the bajau people. A walk through the forrest and over a large bridge brings you to this typical village. You can buy some cookies or drinks in one of the 2 small shops there and you are free to visit the village. You will be surrounded of friendly children trying to communicatie with you in English, if they are not in school. The place is very quiet and the staff is doing everything to offer you a pleasant stay. They even play the gitar in the evening. There is a sandbeach with nice corrals and a lot of fish in the water.

We stayed there for 3 nights and had really a good time. You don't do a lot there but you just chill and be in your hammock. The bungalows are nice and every has two hammocks - the beds are a little bit hard but it's ok. In general the guys there keep the whole place in great order - everything will be cleaned often, etc. The food is midrange and could be better but maybe we were too spoilt from Una Una Sanctum. You can do really good snorkeling from the beach or you can join the boat trip to three different places - that's really worth it. All in all we had a very pleasant and relaxing time there, met cool people and could have stayed longer but the boat connections.....

My wife and I stayed here last week for four nights, the first three in the top of the range hut, the last in a room next to the main hub of the resort. The location is wonderful set on a beach looking out over a stilted Bajo village. The huts were comfortable and there were plenty of hammock relaxing opportunities. The pace of life was utterly peaceful. We took a couple of trips, one a short but tricky trek to a fantastic bat cave and a boat to reef number 5, snorkelling heaven. I would strongly recommend both trips plus a walk over to the Bajo village. The staff were universally friendly, helpful and cheerful but that does seem to be the norm for this wonderful country. We booked our stay by bumping into Roly at the jellyfish lake and verbally asking him to keep us a room. Sure enough when we got off the public ferry the next evening he was cheerfully waiting with a boat to take us the last 20 minutes to Lestari, BUT while we were there the place was pretty much full all the time and they were having to turn potential guests away who had not booked. My advice would be to try and book in some way before you arrive. Most of the other guests were 20-something year old Europeans and the atmosphere around the meal tables was easygoing, relaxed and conversational. You get 3 good meals a day, and if you like fish then you will be very happy. Well cooked and as fresh as any fish I've ever had. If you are not a fish fan then you will struggle. I have only 2 gripes and they are very personal to me. At night there wasn't a breath of wind which for me made sleeping very difficult. It is literally 15 miles south of the equator so is hot and steamy. Also I was bitten by bugs of various kinds unremittingly throughout my stay which made me one large itchy man. I would point out that my wife remained virtually unbitten, and looking around the meal tables there was little evidence of others having my problem. Overall though I have very fond memories of this place.
