I went here on October 2016. The beach is beautiful and the staff very nice! The snorkeling in the front of Sera it's beautiful, I saw baby shark (the first time), it's cool! In the evening, the manager of Sera (Nuir), he call all the guests to see a plankton. Very nice time here!
Among six resorts on Malenge Island, the water of Sera Cottages is the clearest. Since last week (second week of July 2018), the resort has always been full. If you arrive there and have the situation, check three other resorts within 200 meters around the Sandy Bay, If they are full too, which is likely, ask the boat man to take you to my bay--only 2-minute boat or 5-minutes walk passing a cliff from Sera. Our simple guest hut (only one) is vacant most of the time. The Sera staff will know if you ask them to take you to Dr. Ating.
Nuir - manager - takes care of everything and helps you to feel like in paradise. He and other staff are very helpful and friendly. We stayed there 4 nights and it was too short. We had bungalow in second row, with western bathroom. Bungalow was ok, with lots of wholes through which warms can enter (once a bat flew in for a while). We killed few carcoroches. There is mosquito net and old fan but it works only when electricity is avaliable. Bungalows are rather basic but spacious enough. Huge terrace with 2 hamcocks is great! The only disadvanges is that the bungalow wasn't cleaned at all while we were staying there, even no rubbish taken away. Reefs are amazing, trip to Bajao Village was great, snoorkling is fantastic. Food was delicious and portions are enough even for me and I like to eat :) There is no wifi or even call signal so you can relax and chillout all the time being disconnected from the world. It is good to have any games or cards to play in the group together in evenings - we all people were spending evenings together befor sleep. Amosphere of this place is amazing! Nowhere to go or spend money, the only disadvantage is that beer costs twice as much. I strongly recommend staying there. I will come back for sure because in fact you spend less money there than staying on mainland.…
Nuir and his team/family make everything for a pleasant stay. The rooms are very basic but clean and all of them have a sea view as well as a little terrace with two hammocks. In the house reef you can see baby sharks, mantas and lots of fish and Nuir is a passionate snorkeling guide -lovely. Also the trips to the nearby reefs are great and quite cheap in relation to other resorts on the Togeans. The food is freshly cooked and very nice - also suitable for vegetarians. The price/value is great and the atmosphere at Sera Beach unforgettable.
We stayed overthrew 6 days, and this place is definitely our highlight from our trip in Sulawesi ! The accommodation is pretty simple, but the place is amazing. The staff is awesome ! They woke up one, morning and brang us to see dolphin. And the food ! Wouah you will eat fish every day and what a fresh fish !!!
The place itself is really nice : white sand beach with clear water. It looks like paradise. You can snorkel just in front of the hotel and see sharks, ray, bumphead and lots of nice fishes. The atmosphere is great there. Everybody eats together, plays together cards, volleyball or anything. The staff is also very good, very warm and welcoming, they make you feel really comfortable there ! Their reputation is well deserved. The only small thing which is not so nice : you need to pay for toilet paper (10K/roll) !!!
We enjoyed our stay at Sera Beach. The Area is wonderful, the food is nice and we really enjoyed playing beach volleyball in such a remote and beautiful location. During our whole trip around the Togians we didn't see such a nice beach, which is perfect for just relaxing in the narrow water. So far, it's the best accommodation on the Togians and you should visit this nice place!
Sera Beach Cottage offer nice bungalows by an amazing beach and crystal-clear sea. That's paradise. I just stay 1 night and well, it seems my booking from Edy had not been forwarded to the staff. So I think it's better if you book much in advance because guests are actually bringing the reservation book from Amapana with them for the coming weeks! Anyway, staff members are trying their best to please everybody. The only issue I found there is the tourists. French tourists with high expectations thinking everything is due to them - and I'm French myself so I was feeling a bit ashamed and changed island very quickly. Sad! By the way, owner is planing to build another 13 bungalows by next season so better avoid the place next year.
We reservated a bungalow in this place already 3 weeks ahead and were really looking forward to it. When we arrived we already saw from the boat that it wont be as good as we expected it! There is a big concrete wall all along the beach so there is almost no possibility to lie on the beach. When we left the boat no one came up to us since we asked around! They were really unfriendly and told us that they dont have place and didnt care at all when I told them we reserved. We were really lucky that we found a bungalow in Sandy Bay, the bay next to it. And actually happy because it was much nicer there!
+ good food prepared in a fire kitchen. If you do not want to eat fish every day, ask manager for eggs. Sometimes octopus is available as well. You can discuss your culinary preferences but you should expect sea food. + good snorkeling in the beach. Clown fish right in the middle of the beach. We saw 2 reef sharks and blue spot ray. Large parot fish, lobster. They have some snorkeling gear available. + during new moon you can see glowing plankton on the beach and in the water. + on a calm day when there are no waves the crew may take you to see dolphins. + excellent and cheap snorkeling tours to jellyfish lake and reef #5 (lion fish can be spotted there) + bungalows have big terrace with 2 hammocks and some are right on the beach. + they give you towels but you need to ask. + Restaurant offers beer but I don't know if they have coke. - there are cockroaches - toilet paper is for a fee - there was a big mess up with our return boat. For some reason 2 boats came and wanted to force an additional fee. We barely made the transfer in Wakai. - bungalows are very basic. Bed, moskito net, and two shelfs. Fan that works 3h a day when the electricity is on BRING: FLASHLIGHT Sunscreen Moskito repellent Snorkeling gear Toilet paper Soap also for laundry …
