If I can give this place a 6 out of 5 stars I would have done so. The staff are so friendly and helpful. I was in contact with Gulmira way before my trip to Jyrgalan to order my treks. She was so helpful with all the information from how I can take the bus from Bishkek to Karakol then Jyrgalan. Then James, my English guide is wonderful. We did 4 days together trekking Keskenkija loop in the heat. He also made me sandwich with cheese and sausage which is not part of the package. Everyone at the guesthouse is wonderful with big beautiful smile. I had a room to myself and everything is kept super clean. Breakfast is provided and it’s plenty of food. Lunch and dinner are also delicious. I would highly recommend this place to stay and to get information for your hikes. I would definitely come back.…

I was quiet surprised once I found hotel with European standards but with local price range. The village is in the valley surrounded with mountains. The hikes could be organized in all directions. The hosts are most welcoming and approaching in all Kyrgyzstan based on three weeks traveling in this country. Actually it is quite surprising how many services are offered upon request. Beside meals are horse riding ,bow shooting, sauna and etc. By the way it is possible to stay in yurt or try horse milk. It is among services offered. If I could come back I would stay longer at this place. Owners Gulmira and Emil are doing great job to keep this place at the highest standard. For those who don't like to trek solo, guided hiking organized.

I had a great time as a guest of Gulmira and Emil. A lovely, comfortable guesthouse with ample and delicious food in one of the most stunning possible locations. I was there in March and spent a week skiing in the area. I can’t wait to return in summer to hike some of the routes in the surrounding mountains. Thank you!

We have just recently visited this lovely place. Very nice hotel located in very beautiful valley. Owners Gulmira and Emil are very pretty people which are giving a warming host. Hotel provides all necessary things to feel comfortable. I have not reached all destinations available from this place and will definitely come back to visit all left beautiful places. This hotel is unforgettable, my family is already missing this hotel, hospitable owners Gulmira and Emil as well as with their's lovely dogs, evening talks with flavored coffee Malongo. This is the best experience of this year for my family. Will come back shortly.

The best place to go when you're up for an adventure. Gulmira helped me with everything from the accommodation, the transportation from Bishkek to Jyrgalan and back and of course the trek. She also arranged everything that we needed for the Keskenkija trek so we just arrived with our clothes and we didn't worry about other stuff. The head office for Destination Jyrgalan is in the guesthouse so it is easy to arrange whatever trek or hike you would want. The place is also one of the most beautiful places to visit.

Alakol-Jyrgalan Guesthouse is an absolute gem. The town itself is a remote mountain town comprising mostly of small-holdings set in a gorgeous mountain valley from where you can start numerous world-class hikes. The guesthouse is surprisingly comfortable. The rooms are clean, modern and comfortable. On the groundfloor is a nice communal area which is great for meeting other trekkers and swapping notes about your adventures over a cold beer/cider. Alakol-Jyrgalan is run by a really knowledgeable and friendly host who is happy to give you information about the area. They offer guided treks, horse-riders and mountain-bikes for hire but they don't push you to buy anything from them. They are simply there to help which was refreshing and appreciated. We'd recommend anyone who enjoys a hike to visit Jyrgalan and stay at the Alakol-Guesthouse.…

Emil and Gulmira are welcoming hosts with a wealth of knowledge about the area. They helped me plan three days of hiking and horseback riding in the valley, and even accompanied me on a hike the last day of my trip, which was an unexpected treat. Although some of the longer treks are not accessible in May due to snow at higher elevations, it's a wonderful time to experience the valley in relative solitude. The accommodations are very comfortable, and I had delicious, varied meals that were all vegetarian (at my request). I highly recommend the Alakol guest house in Jyrgalan as a destination for outdoor adventures.

We had a wonderful stay at the guesthouse and a perfect 3-day trek to the Boz Uchuk Lakes. Communication with the hosts is a breeze and they did everything possible to make our stay an enjoyable one. Jyrgalan is spectacular- a small village surrounded by green hills, wildflowers and snow capped peaks. I can’t recommend this area for trekking more highly! Gulmira and her family are welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly people. The rooms are very comfortable, food is delicious and it is the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Jyrgalan valley. As well as the trek, we also did a 1/2 day horse ride to a beautiful mountain lake. You will definitely love your stay here.

A cosy guest house run by very friendly owners Emil and Gulmira. It is situated at the heart of the valley of Jyrgalan in the small miners' town. The house is very comfortable, we stayed in a company of friends in double and triple rooms equipped with good WC and shower facilities. The ski-room and a good sauna is also available. The place was perfect for our purpose - ski-touring. Just outside the house we put our skis with skins and started to explore the valley which was generously covered by snow.
