We had to go to the Marie to get directions due to very poor signs. The owner and his wife were very welcoming. In a lovely spot on the banks of the river. The pool was very pleasant and the owner was happy to bring us a beer. Sadly they did not provide evening meals but did book a restaurant for...

When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the owner Jerome and were quickly settled into our rooms overlooking the river with individual patios. The rooms were spacious and meticulously clean and had air conditioning. There was a small fridge which contained water and a soft drink. Whilst we didn't use the pool it was well maintained by the owner...

This is an inexplicable place- a 1980s-ish Palladian style motel miles from a main road and at a dead end- but it is strangely beguiling, as others have said. Monsieur and Madame Le Cam preside over their establishment with relaxed charm, even though in late August it appeared to have almost no guests. We did not try the pool but...

This hotels would be immediately familiar to anyone who has stayed in a New Zealand or Australian motel. Independent units looking onto the river with a substantial dinning room and pool complex. It's very quiet and rural and a great place to stop for the night. The owners have been there for 5 years and have good English and made...

Another great hotel on our cycle trip from St Malo to the Mediterranean. On arrival the owner greeted us and showed us where we could safely store our bikes. After having a cold beer by the pool we were shown to our rooms which were comfortable and each had it's own private terrace looking down toward the river The hotel...

A lovely escape off the main routes, quiet and calm. Fantastic to find air conditioning in the room too. Good quality bedding. Bathroom a little dark, but functional. Having a small terrace overlooking the pool was lovely, and the pool itself was lovely and warm. The hosts were very pleasant and available as needed. Shame that we had to drive...

Stayed for one night on a cycle tour, we had a friendly welcome at this hotel which is a collection of single storey rooms, arranged like wings from a central eating area all facing a rather beautiful river and extensive lawns. It's modern and well done, perhaps more like renting a chalet than staying in a hotel - maybe a...

The hotel is a series of chalets set around the main building which houses reception, the restaurant and bar. We had a warm welcome from our engaging hosts, and felt immediately at peace with the absence of noise of any kind. We especially liked the green space onto which the chalets have instant access and it's backdrop of the tree...

Delightful hotel in stunning location on banks of River Vienne. Spacious, clean rooms (all at ground level) opening onto private patio area and open lawns running down to the river. Extremely helpful and friendly owners. Delicious evening meals (upon prior request). Outdoor pool open in season. Lovely quiet area interrupted only by the sound of birdsong and cicadas. Highly recommend.
