Pacaya Lodge & Spa is a luxury resort for travelers who expect a unique experience and memorable service. Each of our twenty-six rooms offers a stunning view over the jungle canopy to the crater lake below, with Granada and Lake Nicaragua visible on the horizon. Our lodge and casitas feature furniture, art and decor created by local artisans, blending an authentic Nicaraguan feel with the lodge’s warm, contemporary design. Located about halfway between the cities of Granada and Masaya, Pacaya Lodge and Spa is in the heart of Nicaragua’s picturesque pueblos blancos, villages known for their quality, authentic art and handicrafts. Pacaya is a perfect hopping-off point to explore neighboring market villages, to hike nearby volcanoes, to spend the day at the beach, or enjoy an evening in Granada. Come unwind in the hammock on your private balcony. Float in the infinity pool overlooking the crater lake. Indulge in a signature spa treatment or wander the trails through the reserve to the calls of howler monkeys and exotic birds. Enjoy open-air fine dining with ingredients sourced from local purveyors and our own organic garden. Trek down to the lake to sunbathe, swim and paddle in the clear, thermal waters of Laguna de Apoyo. Come enjoy a boutique experience surrounded by nature and the handiwork of local artists and artisans. We look forward to welcoming you.

Detailed Reviews
The customer service was above and beyond. Judith was so kind to allow us rebook the 2nd night of our stay to go to Ometepe. Our last night, we arrived late to check in, the restaurant was closed at 8pm but Marvin Silva managed so well that Mr. Cheff Francisco prepared us a delicious, well presented dish at last minute, and THAT MADE our day delightful!!!.
We recommend this place 100% because it feels like home when you are taken care by warm people.

A turn off of the main highway (along with my adventurous best friend) into what feels like a rural pueblo, inclining up towards the blue sky. After about 10 minutes we turn onto a very narrow driveway which lands at the rustic yet luxurious Pacaya Lodge & Spa. Immediately I felt genuine care! Judy (was so very helpful (even before our arrival), Jonathan (my guy!), Chef Francisco (Guapote fish!), Rene (our friendly faithful Driver… Happy Birthday #62!), Raul (great service), Lisette (you are living sunshine) and the entire Team. I am absolutely grateful for my time in Nicaragua. This is the true definition of the “road less traveled”.

A hidden gem! This place is unbelievable! The views are gorgeous as well as the atmosphere. The air is super clean and you can see birds as well as hear the wildlife. The resort was clean and the rooms were amazing! The room had a comfortable bed screen to get that fresh air and amazing scenery of the Apayo Lagon. The shower had hot water as well as the all the amenities to settle in. The restaurant had good food as well drinks. If I would have more time I would have stayed here. If you want peace and quiet to unwind from grind this is the resort to do it. You can relax look at the water and just enjoy! I would definitely recommend this resort!

This is a gem of a hotel situated high on top of the hill offering spectacular views of the lagoon. Our room was like a tree top cabin with an incredible view. Very clean and quiet. What made this Hotel outstanding is the staff. Judy, Lisette, and rest of the staff were so friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make out say as comfortable as possible. Judy in particular was so helpful! She helped us navigate booking the ferry to Ometepe as well as with hotel reservations for the next leg of our trip. The massage at the spa was also terrific. $75 for 60 min deep tissue massage. I highly recommended Pacaya Lodge and Spa.

This is an incomparable lodge with breathtaking views of the jungle and pristine volcanic lagoon. The staff is exceedingly friendly and helpful- from Judy who will help you organize your day tours and all other details to Erick who will make sure you get there comfortably. Raul prepares delicious meals and friendly Jonathan and Lizbeth present them to you with care. Howler monkeys and striped squirrels and countless birds greet you every morning and evening from your balcony. Highly recommended place to experience all that makes Nicaragua special.

+1
Pacaya is open again for weekends and I eagerly booked a long weekend stay there. My first time at Pacaya was a few months before Covid hit and then I had to patiently wait for them to reopen but now they are so I can’t recommend this amazing hotel enough. The views are outstanding and we saw 2 monkeys eating one afternoon from our private balcony. (If you don’t see them, you can always hear them haha).
The pool and restaurant are great and it was also nice to order from the room and truly relax and take in the view of the Lagoon and at night, the city lights of Granada. If you are looking for some quiet from the city (or your life) this is the place to do it. You leave feeling refreshed and like you experienced nature in a special way. I believe they also have day passes so if you can’t do a whole weekend maybe try to get there for a day!

Perfection, Nicaragua is magical, and still underdiscovered, and Pacaya lodge and spa is a real find
I had the pleasure of visiting this beautiful lodge with a friend. It is convenient to Managua, yet FAR removed. My room felt like a luxurious little treehouse, with views of the lagoon that you can just soak in for hours from your porch hammock.
The people who bring the service are phenomenal. The manager Judy assisted with EVERY step of the trip. Judy is a gem.
She is supported by a 5 star team. Jonathan, Lisette, Raul, David, Chef Francisco, the tour guide Gustavo, and our driver Rene are great people, and are so kind and great hospitality professionals.
Go, enjoy the natural splendor, the animals, the delicious food, massages, and let Judy help plan your stay.

Pacaya Lodge is an amazing place to stay at to get some rest and relaxation! This place is a hidden gem with amazing views of Laguna de Apoyo and Lake Nicaragua in the background. The rooms are very clean with gorgeous views in every direction.
I recommend the spa to get a nice massage, and the food at the restaurant was delicious too. Lisette was very generous and helped us with every request. We would stay here again, and highly recommend this place!

We spent an amazing two days at Pacaya Lodge and it was the best experience. The staff, customer service, food & drinks were 5 star and priced really well. The beds were comfortable and room had a beautiful view. We say monkeys in the trees and heard nothing but sounds of nature. The pool had relaxing music as well. It was a wonderful experience!

Great views. The room was first class. Great balcony. 1000% would go back. Would recommend better signage to find it as it is a hidden gem esp if you drive from Catarina.

Hello and thank you for your interest in Pacaya Lodge and Spa.
La Laguna de Apoyo is located about 10 or 15 minutes drive or a 45 minute walk. That is the closet location for water sports and dining close to the water. We usually take our guests to The Laguna Beach Club, they offer Pacaya Guests a discount on entry ($4) and they have great lounge chairs to relax up on the hill of the property. Most guests do not lay out in the sandy, rocky areas, the comfort is closest to the restaurant and bar.
I hope this helps! We would love to have you. Philip HIldreth
Good afternoon Tony -
I have a special discount rate of $135/night for our double queen room - for the month of May and $150/night for the king suite.
Please give us a call at 505-7877-5900 to make a reservation.
Thank you, Philip
Good Morning!
Pacaya Lodge and Spa is about 25 minutes from Granada. The Hotel runs a complimentary shuttle from Granada to Pacaya daily at 1:00pm and again at 3:00pm. We are happy to accommodate transportation outside those time periods for a cost of $10 per person each way.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Philip Hildreth
