8 of use travelled here with 4 parents 65+ and 2 kids 7 and 3. We stayed 8 nights at the resort and it was absolutely fantastic. Great help from the time you land at Male to getting to the resort. We had about 1.5 hours between connections and it was made super easy by the hotel staff waiting at Male. Accommodation: Check-in was a breeze. Staff super helpful. We stayed 4 nights at a beach studio and 4 nights at an aqua villa. Great rooms, very clean and very well maintained. The beach is literally 15-20 steps away from the studio. We wanted the aqua villa experience but in retrospect would have been completely happy with 8 days at the beach studio too. Primarily because its safer for the kids and they loved the proximity to the beach. We made the most of the aqua villa by jumping into the ocean when the water was calm. But we did encounter rough weather for 2 days during our stay at the aqua villas Food: Pros: I must say that the food at Zest was amazing. Good variety. And super helpful chefs happy to whip up something for you and your kids on demand! Special call out to Chef Manoj. Could not have had as good a time if not for your support for our meal requirements! Thank you so much. Folks dont be afraid to ask, the entire staff is very supportive. Another place where we spent bulk of our time was at the Breeze bar and the pool. Again, special call out to Suresh for keeping our drinks and food flowing all the time! Cons: We got the DI package. This I think is something that I recommend you skip. We were forced (which was weird) to take the same package for all 3 families - mine, my parents and my inlaws even though only 2 of the families drink alcohol. Apparently thats the policy if we make one reservation. In my opinion we would have saved about 1000 to 1500$ easily if we just took full board and had ordered ad hoc wherever we went. Smoked restaurant was the only one that we found useful for a dominantly vegetarian group out of the Chefs menu for the DI package. Again, skip DI, get full board and pay as you go. Another disappointment was that Flavors was not open due to preventive maintenance and we were forced to dine at Zest everyday. Some variety of location would have been good (even though the spread might have been the same) So if you booked thinking 2 locations will be open for buffet, which was one of my criteria, do check with the hotel. The pool bar and the pool there was much smaller. So dont factor that into your decision making when you pick this place. Activities: Aquaholics was great. Helpful staff and bucket loads of fun. We did a bunch of stuff including fun rides, scuba, jet skiing. Strongly recommend the Scuba dive. Anthony was a great instructor and I had a pretty magical dive. Bad weather hurt our snorkeling chances but no regrets there Kids enjoyed Kandiland and the baby sitting services there are pretty good. We managed to sneak in some me time thanks to this play area and activities there. Even my 3 year old had fun here Island: Very beautiful. Suitable for long walks, shell collecting :) and just hanging out by the beach. Nice blue waters surrounding the island and all up great place to soak up the sun for all ages (as you can see we've covered all demographics). Couple of nit picks - poor shuttle timings. I think they ought to do more about the frequency. I was able to walk from point to point but its a fairly large island and families with kids and parents will have some waiting to do. Overall though, we had fabulous time. Forgot there was COVID and left the world behind. If you want some wholesome fun with kids and family and find some me time as a couple you cant do much wrong by picking Kandima

Whatever you do, please do not listen to the negative reviews you are reading. I believe these people may need to take up meditation to find some inner peace. There was absolutely nothing to complain about, the staff are unbelievable at what they do, always on hand if you ever need anything. We did thorough research before we selected this hotel as I was feeling anxious about travelling during a pandemic and they put my mind at ease as soon as we got there. They’re handling the pandemic the best way they can by temperature checking, offering hand sanitiser to each and every guest before they enter the restaurants. We came as a family with our little boy (4) and he absolutely loved it. There are plenty of things for the whole family to do, highly recommend hiring a bike it’s a great way to explore the island - the buses come roughly every 10 mins which was amazing and they always stop out of courtesy to see you if you’d like a lift! The island is perfection, the waters are crystal clear, the beaches are super Sandy and cleaned every single day - the cleaners are cleaning rooms daily and handle everything with a smile. We honestly couldn’t of selected a better resort, the place is paradise on earth and we were in a little dream bubble for 12 nights. Dolphin boat trip was out of this world and the sunsets are oh so dreamy. Yoga was amazing & the instructor was great, I felt totally refreshed after the class. The food is fantastic and I’ve never personally tasted a curry so good in my life! They seem to employ very similar people as all staff members are kind, smiley and extremely helpful Thank you Kandima for being so kind to us and handling everything with such grace especially during a pandemic. We would like to personally like to thank Mizy at Flavour she was absolutely fantastic at her job and so so sweet! Moosa, thank you for everything, you topped our holiday off nicely with extra sprinkles on top :) Jillu at the bar, thanks for always asking what we would like to drink 10/10 service. Nabeeh was also fantastic and Inattey at Reception. We hope to see you all again in the near future! From Natalie, Ben & Quincey (vacated room 450 on 08/01) Take care all and stay safe!

We were staying in Kandima mid October for 12 days. Really great sport and yoga activities! Yoga and sport trainer Ajay is the real professional, which is doing his job with joy and really perfectly! Many thanks to Ajay from my wife Julia for 12 days of great yoga lessons!!! Highly recommend!

We just returned from Kandima after celebrating our amazing honeymoon. We would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to travel to the Maldives. The service was amazing, from the moment we entered Maldives. We were greeted by a Kandima employee who took us over to the Kandima desk, assigned us luggage tags and escorted us over to the domestic terminal at Maldives airport. He helped us check in to the domestic flight, gave us boarding passes and told us the next step of the journey. Once we had arrived at the next domestic airport, we were again greeted by a Kandima representative, who took our baggage and escorted us to the speedboat for the short hop over to the island. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the staff, escorted over to the reception area and were given ice tea as a welcome gift. The check-in process was quick and seamless. We were able to discuss everything that was needed for our week at Kandima. Staff are available via WhatsApp to cater for every need. The bus service was efficient and took us to all the areas that we needed to go. Flavour was closed at the time we were at Kandima, so breakfast was at Zest only. A special thank you to the chef who accommodated to my needs and served up a yummy breakfast. Rooms were amazing, and the floating breakfast experience is something definitely worth trying once. You have to book a massage at the spa, it was a completely relaxing experience against the sound of the ocean. Drinks served up at Breeze Bar and the Beach Club were amazing, and the service was second to none. Dinners at the a la cartes, Sea Dragon, Azure and Smoked were all fantastic and the food was of a very high quality. We recommend the complementary snorkelling at the house reef which is a brief speedboat ride away. The guides are very friendly and helpful and there is a plethora of sealife to see. The DJ and Groove Town Band were awesome and super talented. They really made our nights at Breeze Bar enjoyable. A few special mentions and thank you’s to a number of staff at Kandima. Firstly to Mizy who was front of house at Zest, who greeted us warmly every morning. To Abu and Nazim for their amazing service and warm personalities. To Shivraj for making amazing drinks and the jokes. To the gardening and maintenance staff for the great service and fresh coconuts. And finally to the resort manager for sorting out our issues promptly. We miss you all and can’t wait to be back!

If you're looking to go to the Maldives on a "once in a lifetime" holiday - I strongly suggest that you look elsewhere. We have spent an absolute fortune to come to this hotel and the service has been shocking in all departments. Room - The shower in our room goes from boiling hot to freezing cold - there is no in-between so having a shower has been a miserable experience. Having complained about this on no less than 5 occasions, this still hasn't been fixed. We also had issues with our air conditioning unit, albeit after two phone calls this was fixed. Staff - Perhaps the biggest let down is the level of service offered by the staff. This is supposed to be a 5-star hotel, but the service offered is 3-star at best. Although some try their best, you never get a personable service from anyone. We had to complain to management on one occasion when a bar tender was extremely rude, slamming the menu down, not acknowledging us etc. Then in the Dragon restaurant, we were rudely told we couldn't come in because we didn't have a reservation, even though there were plenty of free tables. We often have to chase the bar tenders up after waiting more than 20 minutes for our drinks, only to then see them serving other guests! Cleanliness - The cleanliness of bar and restaurant areas is a disgrace. For instance, in the breakfast area there are often dirty masks, tissues etc. just left on the floor. There was even a dirty mask left next to the "clean" plates this morning. In the bars, the staff very rarely walk around to collect dirty plates and empty glasses, so you have to constantly find someone to clean up. Again, dirty tissues etc. are left on tables and not cleaned up. All inclusive - We originally paid for Dine Around all inclusive - which was a major disappointment. There are like 5 cocktails to choose from and that's it. Lunch is only available until 2.30pm, and dinner isn't served until 7.30pm. As such, if you miss lunch, you've got a really long wait. As such, we upgraded to the Platinum all inclusive for an additional $150++ per day. This gives you access to heaps more, so it's worth doing. However, we tried to use our $60 daily resort credit in the spa, and was told we couldn't. It states clearly on the website and AI documentation that the spa is eligible for resort credit - so this is yet again another failure from the hotel! Beach - The island and beach etc. are superb. Buggy service - There is no personal buggy service on this island - which is bizarre. Instead, they have a shared buggy that drives around every 15 minutes. I have waited longer than this only to find the buggy is completely full. Who wants to go on holiday to wait around for transportation? Every 5-star resort that I have previously been to offers a personal buggy on request! All in all, we are very disappointed with our stay at the Kandima. So management - it's over to you now. Having spoken to a lot of other guests, the experience explained in this review are shared by many other people.
