I spent 1 night (2 days) with a group of friends 2 weeks ago. All over the island, particularly the beach, is extremely filthy. Garbage consisting of dirts, plastic bottles and bags are washed ashore. The room is not well cleaned. The flushed water from toilet bowl bounced back into the bathroom. The water is yellowish. The food was probably reheated left-over. The air-conditioner inside the bedroom was just not functioning well. It blew warm air.
It is a tiny little island with an amazing and friendly staff. The food is fabulous, the view is gorgeous. It is a perfect place for couples who want to do nothing or families with young children. The water is clear and the scenery is breathtaking. The best part of the experience is the proximity to Jakarta, only 30 minutes. I would not recommend Pulau Ayer for those who are looking for action as the island does not offer snorkelling, scuba diving or other adventurous activities. As I mentioned previously this place is perfect for unwinding and, chilling and relaxing.
I went to Ayer island . And the island is very beautiful with amazing touches on it done by the resort. The disappointing point was the room itself, not clean at all with bedsheets having stanes on them. The toilet smells like urine even before using it. It was disappointing experience cause we were planning to stay the night over it . the moment I saw the room we just packed our stuff and and asked them to ship us back. However, the island is super pretty. Definitely must go destination but no sleepover for me please.
I booked for 2 pax room and marketing lady said I need to pay boat for my 2.5 yo daughter, cost me 2.9 mio only for 1 night overstay. She told me to stand by at Marina at 7.30 for boat at 8 am because she said boat at 9 is booked by group. Turns out our name even not listed, and i need to show the receipt (although the guy didn't really see it), and until 8.30 the boat didn't departed. When I ask, they said only 1 boat going at 9, I was like WTF?! My daughter was getting up in the morning only to stood up at marina for almost 2 hours (we arrived at 7). Then when i contacted the marketing woman, she is making excuses there is another group coming so arrangement changed (I didn't see any group coming so the excuse was weird). Anyway she promised me to give a room to rest at the island, and when I arrived the reception guy didn't know anything about it until I shown our chat so he said they will prepare the room and call my name. When the room is ready, I went to the reception and I was surprised they asked me to pay the boat for my daughter! I said, I have paid for it, should I call the marketing woman? Then he was just "okay that's fine" When I asked the marketing woman, why their communication was so bad?! They should have sent the receipt what the guest had paying for so they don't need to ask over and over again! Other than this, the staffs here trying to be polite and greet you. But unfortunately second day was ruined when I have checked out and waiting for my daughter playing at the park, the pool guy asking what is my room number? I was like "why are you asking, I have checked out and given my room key". I think he is thinking that we stole the pool towel, in which my husband had returned earlier in the morning. It's a shame, when you're paying 2.9 mio for a night you are expecting to get professional treatment and not treated like a thief all the time. …
Had a family gathering over a weekend in July 2018. Overall the trip was good and we had a pleasant stay due to friendly and excellent service offered. It took me less than half an hour to get the necessities from the room service. Food is also great. However, the tap water is rather salty and somewhat greasy, but safe for shower. I would recommend people visiting the island.
I came to this island on a family trip during low season, and this island is very nice on low season because there are spots to enjoy doing nothing. This place is the best if there is not much people. You can enjoy the nature and sea views in a relatively quite environment. The names of the cottages and buildings are inspired from the name of places in Papua, Indonesia.
I stopped in during low season so not much to do on the island. Not sure but it looks like they have shows and live music and beach things to do. The beaches were closed due to ???? The rough waves or water quality or no staff????? It is a very quaint place to go if you want to relax on the beach or pool. The food portions were over whelming. Staff was very nice. It is a very small island and very close to the marina of Jakarta, 25 minute boat ride. I would think if you are further out you may get a better place. I would have to say the cottages over the water and restaurant were very nice it was a nice little inexpensive get away
distance from rooms to restaurant, lounge and shop is quite far. water for shower or at sink is brackish. water for shower at room sometimes very small, even not flow. but their staff are very helpful and friendly. the rooms also clean and tidy.
We had a day trip in this resort for an outing. The island was small, it took about 30 minutes to go around it by foot. The resort was well kept; neat and clean. The facilities provided were standard. However, there were three apparent drawbacks: 1. The foods were mediocre at best. 2. There were lizards walking around the island that might make us a little uneasy. 3. We could not swim around the island because there were sea urchins. We did not stay overnight in the island but we had a chance to take a look at one of the cottages. It was decent enough. I cannot recommend you for staying overnight since we did not do it. What I can suggest you is to have a day trip with your family and or friends.
Stayed there for 1 nite with couple, really nice place to runaway, nice food, nice and cozy room, nice facilities with friendly staffs. Price is too high compare to its facilities. Good restaurant with nice and fresh seafood provided
