There is something about this little town of Eshowe... the people, the characters, the natural location... it is just special. I came through as a musician, and was booked to play at the annual Great Zululand Music Festival. The Pablo Esco Bar (which is the hotel's bar and music venue) is a great place to socialise and drink delicious Zulu...

Stayed 3 nights, I can't say anything good except how pleased we were to leave. Everything is in need of upgrading including the staff! Spend your cash elsewhere where they may give you a clean bed warm welcome and a hot shower. Do not believe utter lies of refurbishments, this means that someone with a paint brush has whitewashed the...

❤️ The George Hotel! Friendly staff, great room, fantastic bar and one of the best jolling spots ever. The music festival was sooooo cool! Eshowe is most definitely worth visiting over and over. I know, been here often and will always return. If you enjoy pizza you can't go wrong, sit on the deck at Pablo Esco Bar watching the...

Booked in here as attending a wedding in Eshowe, some events were to be held here, but the owner was grossly overcharging (55 rand for a panini when the normal cost was 25) so the pre wedding party was transferred to Eshowe hills instead. which also offers accommodation, sadly fully booked. We were allocated room 19, which was refurbished recently...

When I checked in I was given the option of a "remodeled" room or one that had not been done yet (for about 25% lower price) I looked at both and chose the cheaper one which was a bit plainer and with a slightly stained carpet, but very clean none the less. During my 2 night stay two minor issues...

Stopped over for lunch, first time visit. Intriguing building with friendly staff. The bar area is simply amazing with fascinating artwork. The food was excellent and absolutely great value for money. A must stop if you are in the Zululand area.

We stayed at The George for three nights. Our rooms were spacious, tastefully decorated and very clean, with comfortable beds, beautiful (and lovely smelling) bed linens, and an electric kettle with a variety of teas. The entire hotel is a feast for the eyes, with interesting artwork and historical photographs throughout. How lucky for us that we were there over...

I took myself slightly off the beaten track and into the heart of Zululand. I travelled from the foothills of the Drakensberg Mountains, across country, via the SA presidents lavish homestead and many small Zulu villages to Eshowe. I stayed at the George Hotel which made an ideal base to explore the area. The hotel had everything I needed A...

A very welcome, comfortable hotel AND the ONLY place to stay in Eshowe. I spent just 2 nights.Food was excelllent, the staff lovely and very efficient. Live music (and a 'party') every Friday night......the hotel brews its own beer, Zulu Blond, which won an international brew award. The owner is dedicated to running a great hotel in a very beautiful...

Hotel is being refurbished so was quite noisy. Staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Live music in the bar was AWESOME but it would have been nice to have been able to taste the locally brewed Zulu Blonde beer that has become famous and is brewed in the brewery on the premises but sadly there was no stock!!! I will...
