We have stayed at the riverside huts over New Years for three nights. In the first (#3) hut the bathroom was very outdated and the hot water did not work properly. The management of Maliba Mountain Lodge (the 5 star accommodation) arranged a different hut for us. This hut was much more of our liking (#1 hut) and we enjoyed... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. Due the current drought in Lesotho and South Africa, we are experiencing minor water shortages in our Riverside Huts. We are managing the situation by regularly transporting additional water to the lodge however there is occasionally a drop in water pressure effecting the supply of hot water. We regret that your meals did... More

The service is excellent with very friendly staff who go out of their way to make a person's stay enjoyable. The scenery is breathtaking. I had quite an experience on the horseback. RIVERSIDE HUTS are very far from everything for people who do not have vehicle but its quiet and peaceful.

Althought the 3 stars accomodations is a bit overpriced, the location is wonderful and the staff very kind and efficient. Food is very good too. Would definitely recommend this place, very close to the border.

We arrived late, yet the kitchen was kept open for us from which we enjoyed a truly excellent meal. What was most annoying was that it was impossible, try as we might, to adjust our hot-water shower! It was either scalding hot or very cold, nothing in between! Your Durban office, from which our booking was made, had no idea... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. We are able to provide directions from a number of locations when requested. Although we do conduct frequent tests on the fittings in the rooms, we will ensure we rectify the shower. We will also be working on continued training of our staff to ensure that the necessary plugs are easily available in... More

Overall, our stay in the Riverside Huts was fine though we would definitely recommend upgrading to the Mountain Lodge if available. There were a few downsides for us. As others have mentioned, the bed is a double/full, so it's not big but they provide lots of blankets for cold nights. The polished cement floor is slippery in socks, and you'll... More

We had planned to stay two days. It had rained. Th rivers were unpassable and the pathes flooded. So we left after one night in the huts near the river. We had thought to walk up to the lodge, but could not pass the streams. The next morning we stayed at the lodge, on the terrace, and had a wonderful... More

My wife and I spent 2 days and 1 night at Maliba Lodge at the Riverside huts. The huts are basic and rustic, with a small double bed that will definitely be too small for two big people. The room smelt of damp. The highly polished cement floor had a dangerous mat next to the bed that slipped like it... More

Dear Guest Thank you for your review. It is unfortunate the Riverside Hut was not as you had expected however we are entirely transparent about our 3 Star Riverside huts, designed to be basic but comfortable accommodation which does not meet the comfort and amenities one will receive from our 5 Star Mountain Lodge rooms. We will attend to the... More

My spouse and I spent one weekend night (Saturday night) at Riverside Hut and all was exceptional. All the meals served at the restaurant were out of this world, the services was extra-ordinary and the natural scenery surrounding the entire are was also exceptional. We felt like we were not in Lesotho. The breeze was crisp, vegetation green, all we... More

The location is absolutely stunning and the main building offers the most wonderful views on the high mountains around. The new construction has been made with excellent taste and the interior decoration is flawless. The food is very good, the staff very helpful. We visited the River Lodge : impeccable. We stayed at the Riverside Huts. Compared to the rest... More

We chose the cheaper option of staying in one of the Riverside huts, instead of the Main Lodge. The hut has a comfortable bed, enough storage space, en-suite bathroom with shower. Electric kettle and tea and coffee are provided. Rock pool for swimming is a 2 minute walk Minor negative: the mirror above wash basin is mounted too high (suitable... More
