The Curio Bay Boutique Studios are one of the main attractions of our trips to New Zealand. Our most recent stay was the fourth time we have stayed. Sitting in the giant bed looking out at the surf (watching the dolphins if they make an appearance!) just cannot be beaten. Be warned though - it's really hard to take your...

Luxury accommodations at a bargain price! The studios are on the beachfront, with large windows and a sliding glass door to maximize the gorgeous view. Everything about the place speaks of class and quality -- from the comfy king sized bed and quality furnishings to the well-appointed kitchen. I hadn't planned on doing laundry, but the washer and dryer (with...

As the room we were to use was undergoing some repairs we were accommodated in a separated part of Dani and Nick's house. The room was excellent, leading straight onto an enormous beach. There are no restaurants in the area, thus you have to self cater; there was a two ring oven but a microwave would have been more than...

This place has it all! Excellent roomy accommodations, with a gorgeous view! When the drapes are open you can see the ocean from the front porch - out the back windows. In fact, you can wake up in the morning and see the ocean from the bed! Did I mention this place has a killer view!?! Make certain you bring...

We watched hectors dolphins surfing from the deck and walked on the beach to see the petrified forest. On our first night we saw the blue penguins coming back to their nest under our apartment.. The bathroom was...

We were in the apartment. Lovely room with amazing bathroom, let down by the approach around side of main house past untidy outbuildings and there was some noise from next door but the room and view of the whole bay from the window and deck made up for everything. Be prepared for a noisy night visit from penguin which nests...

Possibly one of the most beautiful places you will ever stay! Quiet, beach literally on the doorstep, long pristine beach, and wildlife including dolphins, seals, penguins and bird life. Totally recommend it!

Fabulous view of a stunning beach, amazing wildlife- penguins and dolphins- a really special place to stay. The only downside might be the slight noise and smell from the blue penguin nest under the porch. I would like to live in this place permanently Also, very helpful having access to a washing machine and tumble drier

The area of Curio Bay is a very special place and these are wonderful accommodations. The beach studio is very comfortable, spacious, well equipped and nicely decorated with a large deck & great views esp with the early morning light. Be sure and watch the Yellow-Eyed Penguins come in at dusk at the nearby Petrified Forest (always amazing to see)....
