I have read some of the other reviews and must admit that there is some truth about the interior not being as good as, for example, the Oyster Box. However, Beacon Vlei doesn't claim to be a 5 star hotel. It is countryside farm living with a "5 star experience". My family and I stayed at the Otter cottage. It...

My friends and I had an amazing time here. The cottages are beautiful and cozy. My first fishing experience was absolutely great, even in the cold weather. This is definitely the place to be to get away from the city and spend some quality time with friends and/or family.

We enjoyed our stay at beacon Vlei. A Friend had booked 3 cottages for a group of 15 of us attending a wedding on the Saturday at a nearby wedding venue. The accommodation was warm and comfortable, as our group had booked 3 cottages I managed to have a look at each one and although they were all quiet different...

The venue is stunning but the units need some TLC and it's not big things it's the little things that need sorting out. Fix the blinds and the hooks that hold the blind cords. Kitchen counter could do with a new coat of sealer. The couches and chairs could do with a deep clean. Pet hate in all places is...

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights at Beacon vlei- 21 and 22 Sept 2016. Booked with some trepidation, but the beauty of the place, the wonderfully equipped cottage otter), with all mod cons, and the superlative linen, surpassed our expectations. Management and staff not intrusive but on call and very helpful. The silence and natural beauty of the...

We booked a family vacation and we arrived at Beacon Vlei late in the afternoon only to realise that I had made a mistake with the dates that I had made the booking which was actually 2 days hence. So there we were, a family group of 10 literally stranded without any accommodation and everything booked up. Alex went out...

Family holiday on the midlands Meander. Our cottage was well equipped and had a great view over the water my kids loved riding thier bikes around the property and using the boats on the dam, the establishment offered life jackets which we used and the staff wre very attentative and kept our cottage clean. We will be back.

The accommodation urgently need general repairs and maintenance. It can be a great place to stay if everything is fixed. It has a great view, but drawers without handles and a shower that you can barely get into is not acceptable.

The accommodation was very spacious - and the linen was very nice. However there were massive stains on the carpets and the couch - the couch looked so dirty that I didn't even want to sit on it - and when I reluctantly did it nearly swallowed me up. There were dead insects on the windowsill. Shampoo stains from the...
