Every room has King-sized bed with cosy duvet, En-suite bathroom, Remote control colour TV and Tea and coffee-making facilities. As I am disabled, and we had had a reasonably long journey, we paid for early check in.

When we arrived, at 1330, the lady sat in reception, with a housekeeping lanyard on, greeted us with a very, some might say rude "check in isn't until 3pm". My hubby informed her we had early check in. Her response was "oh you paid for that". Now, as she was sat on reception wearing a housekeeping lanyard I would have thought she would be expecting any early check ins, especially in an accessible room!

She looked in her file, got up and said I'll go and see if your room is ready! Now early check in is at 1200, and we got there at 1330 it should have been ready and checked an hour and a half earlier! A young man came into reception not long after she left and asked if we were being looked after and we said yes. He then went out of his way to point out a list on the desk of local restaurants and takeaways. He, unlike the original lady, was very friendly and helpful. When we got to our room, I got the spare pillows down, as we both like 2 pillows, and both had stains. Don't get me wrong they were clean, just badly stained.
If you can't find a member of staff look out towards Starbucks were they have cigarette breaks on fairly regular occasions!

The St Clears Travelodge is very well placed for west and south Pembrokeshire, due to the excellent trunk roads in this part of the UK. The hotel is a very short walk from McDonalds/Starbucks and a mini-mart. Chinese and fish & chips are a 3 minute drive away. The revamped rooms are aesthetically improved and bed very comfortable. No aircon like a premier inn which may be an issue in summer but price point is significantly lower (I stayed in winter for ÂŁ31/night but expect higher in other seasons).

Staying overnight at The Travelodge at St Clears was a very relaxing experience on my travel across West Wales. It was ideally placed for my onward journey and the price was very competitive. The staff were welcoming and the room was super-clean.

Booked an accessible room as I use a wheelchair. Given a twin bedded room as apparently disabled people don't sleep in a bed with their partner! On entering the bathroom I would appear to be able to hurdle as the shower was over the bath. To be fair, on asking to be moved to a room with a walk in shower the receptionist was very good and contacted the person allocated the room and was able to move us. This does flag up that there is only 1 truly accessible room at this hotel. We weren't overwhelmed by what was provided. 1 bath towel, 1 hand towel, 1 pillow each... not the 2 promised. 2 tea bags, 4 uht milk pods and 4 coffee sachets. I had booked the breakfast and free wi-fi option, however the free wi-fi only meant 30 minutes, ÂŁ3 required after that and then there were all sorts of problems with it cutting out then wanting a password to sign in when you were given a QR code and hadn't at any point entered a password. The breakfast option was actually a pack, containing milk, a small boxed portion of cereal, a flapjack and a pastry presumably to eat in your room. Not satisfactory, especially if you are gluten intolerant, a refund was requested and was forth coming. After this experience I will not be chancing a Travelodge again anytime soon.

Absolutely discussing stay would not have paid if I knew it was going to be so bad will not be staying again at any travel lodge.room stunk of dog dust all over the place dirty carpets need washing or some kind of carpet shampooing. You need to provide fresh drinking water and glasses to drink out of them. Your overhaul cleaning needs to improve massively even. The windows were filthy dirty with cobwebs and spiders all over them this may not be on top of your list to do but dirty windows give a bad impression which in this case was not wrong Wry disappointed with he lack help seemed like that all there jib was to make sure you were the person booking in and that was it

I always try and use Travelodge when travelling as I’ve found the chain to be consistent good value and - unfailingly in my experience- to be staffed by friendly, helpful, people - and St Clears was no exception to this. We booked as we were travelling on to Ireland from Fishguard and didn’t want an early start from home. The hotel was clean and had recently been decorated. The setting was beside a roundabout on the main road - with plenty of parking and some fast food outlets (Greggs, McDonalds, Pret a Manger within walking distance. There may be better options nearby but I didn’t check. The hotel gave us a flier with advice on eateries on it but we didn’t venture out. The room was clean and fresh, everything worked, and we got a good night’s sleep. For what we paid (very little in fact) it was brilliant. I’ve already booked to stay there on the return journey.

During the last year we have used the hotel many times and it is always of the same high standard. The rooms have very good sound insulation and you never hear the TV etc from the other rooms. There isn't a lift in the building and some people might find it difficult to get to the first floor. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The car park is next to the hotel which is very handy. Nearby there is a McDonalds and Greggs, and a new Londis forms part of the petrol/charging station. The hotel is well situated for travelling north or south of Pembrokeshire. Very good value for money.

The hotel is in a good location at the junction (roundabout) between the A40 and A477. Despite this the hotel is quiet especially if you have room overlooking the front (car park). The room itself is usual Travelodge standard with a comfy bed although I would have preferred a thicker pillow as I am a side sleeper. Fortunately we had a family room and I wa able to use the pillow from the additional single bed. There were some minor items requiring maintenance attention (reported to reception just before our departure) but these did not affect our stay.
There is a Greggs, Macdonalds and a soon to open Esso fuel station (includiing EV charging) just across the road from the hotel which should meet most needs. Room prices vary considerably with the season as is to be expected in a popular coastal holiday area.
In summary I'd say it's a good location for one or two night stays

After an evening ferry, we needed somewhere to sleep before the journey home. Travelodge St Clears was a great find. Clean, comfortable and quiet, and very reasonably priced. Checking in at midnight was not a problem, and there are food outlets very close by for breakfast or they offer their own breakfast on the go box. Would definitely use it again.
