We couldn't fault Combe House. Chris is very hospitable and makes a mean cup of tea! The accommodation is extremely comfortable and well presented and the breakfast is generous, with a wide choice. We will certainly return. Highly recommended.

Greeted with tea, cake and cookies.... I was a little confused if I was just a boy from 1972 and reliving my younger SW'er visits with family! Refined, warm and traditional property. Fresh air, v.clean/comfortable bedding/bedroom with modern ensuite toilet & bathroom. Light fruit/museli starter followed by an 'Agra' cooked full English.... Recommend as a stop or full stop :)... My wife and I have just returned from two nights, Chris was a very good friendly host and had a lot of knowledge of the surrounding area. The house was a very high standard as was the breakfast. We have over the past 10 years not stayed in B&B preferring Hotels but after this trip we shall definitely be looking... More

We have stayed at Combe House three times now as a family. Chris is a wonderful, kind, welcoming host who always makes us feel very welcome and relaxed. The rooms are very comfortable with facilities for making tea and with great bathrooms. Breakfasts are delicious, fresh fruit and yoghurt and cereals and then full cooked breakfasts. Very pleasant, clean and tidy room and comfortable bed Breakfast excellent (enough to keep a teenage son fed until evening!). Chris very friendly and helpful with cake and a brew on arrival. It is located in a very small town so everything is within only short walking distance ( pubs, shops, places to eat and tannery). Great base for visiting... More

What a lovely, quaint, relaxed and friendly atmosphere to be immersed in at Combe House, Devon at its best. The beds are very comfortable, the breakfasts are excellent, both cooked and non-cooked and Chris is a very caring hostess. Colyton itself is a scenic little village with an interesting history and is conveniently situated at the end of the tram-line... More

Combe house is a very civilised place to stay when visiting Devon. Chris is a wonderful host who makes you feel very welcome. When we arrived we were greeted and then offered some freshly made cake and tea or coffee. After that we went upstairs to our room which had a bedroom and an ensuite bathroom. The beds were very... Very welcoming and friendly on arrival. The room was good with a comfortable bed. Tall people beware low doors in this 17th century house, but it's no problem. Chris is a lovely host providing great accommodation and a lovely breakfast with 'special' toast cooked on her Aga. We will return when next in the area.

Thanks for your kind words - it's not the tall guests who hit their heads it's the 'inbetweeners'!!! I'm too short to worry! The green room beds are extra long should any future guests be reading this. I agree with the toast issue - nothing nicer than home baked bread on the aga... Chris. More

Combe House is a wonderfully unspoilt and quirky property. Chris is a splendid host who is incredibly helpful and friendly. She certainly makes her guests feel at home without being at all intrusive. We stayed in the 'Green' room, which had everything we could have needed. The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the bed linen was beautiful. We had plenty... More

What a perfect stop over location and B&B on route to Cornwall from London. All the more so by Chris who made us feel very welcome and the delightful breakfast in the morning. Would definitely stay again and hopefully next time for longer.
