My boyfriend of 15 years and I recently got married on Sugar Beach. It was absolutely amazing! The atmosphere, the people, the food, the service, along with the most spectacular sunset made for a perfect day. The staff made us feel so very special and treated us like we were part of a family, it was so much fun. I...

Excellent four nights at Sugar Beach Hotel over New Year's Holiday. We had a garden view room which provided a partial view of the Pacific. The room was quite large and included a dressing area with a sink, wardrobe, and safe as well as a separate bathroom which had a large counter in addition to the usual amenities. There were...

We had a wonderful, spacious room a few steps from the ocean. We watched the sunsets from our porch. Sugar beach is located in a cove surrounded by green hills, a picturesque setting. The staff is helpful and friendly. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were good to excellent. Breakfast was included with the room, though the menu was limited....

I had the opportunity to make a last minute trip to receive the new year at the beach. I just found a room at Sugar Beach Hotel, then travel on Dec 31 from San Jose with my Family. Initial service by phone was great since frontdesk team help me a lot on finding this last minute option. Place is very...

Dear Wally B, Thank you so much for taking the time to write and share your experience. Happy you had the opportunity to come to spend new year´s eve with us, you were probably one of the few spots available due to last minutes’ cancellation because is such a crazy season but we always try to keep it tranquil for...

What a discovery! Completely the opposite of Tamarindo's crowds and rush. It is a paradise for it's tranquility and location. Great beach where tranquility is always granted, great pool, beautiful grounds, the rooms are well integrated in the environment, many animals seen too (monkeys, iguanas, birds). The staff is very kind and attentive. Since it is small, the staff remember you...

Dear _alinhtran, You got us right!! The opposite from Tamarindo, we are secluded but super accessible, 5-minute drive to Potrero and 30 minutes’ drive to Tamarindo. Sugar Beach is proud to keep it quiet and in touch with the nature. Playa Pan de Azucar is beautiful picture-perfect for walks or just watch the pelicans dive for their food. The pool...

We had been staying at Sugar Beach hotel from January 19 - 28 and one additional night from January 05 to 06. The hotel is a precious little diamond in an otherwise very busy and at Tamarindo itself also very touristic area of Costa Rica. We loved the beach and back, where you can start today by walking in the...

Dear mschaefer2015, We couldn’t agree more; the hotel is precious little diamond!! Thrilled you loved Sugar Beach is really an ideal place to relax and disconnect from the hectic world and really slow the rhythm. Our family of 6 (mom, dad and 4 girls aged 13-21) LOVED staying at Hotel Sugar Beach! The room was amazing; we had the 3 bedroom beach suite. Even though our luggage was delayed for 2 days by the airline, we were able to have fun, buy toiletries, and we went to a nearby store to buy clothes and swimsuits....

Can only recommend this place. The staff is very kind, the food in the restaurant is the BEST I have had in Costa Rica. Very delicious and freshly made, and still it's reasonably priced. Go for the continental breakfast. All that fresh fruit will keep you healthy full for quite a while. Only downside is there aren't enough sun beds......

Guanacaste Province in Costa Rica is beautiful and untouched. This region is warm and humid but your surroundings in nature are like none other.
