Beautiful, right on the ocean. Only the sound of waves and no roosters. The staff were great and Christophe, the hotel manager was easy going and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel if you want a quiet stay with no hassle. Only seven rooms and a resident Dugong out the front some days. In winter I would imagine the sunsets to be spectacular.
You cannot get closer to the water. All rooms are on the rock facing the beautiful waves. This is not a five star fancy resort. Only a few guests, very chill. The staff are great, ready to prepare you anything from food, smoothies, and cocktails. Make sure you are in good shape as access to the place can be challenging, with steep stairs down the cliff. Pack light. Thank you to Christoph for being a great host.
Stayed here for two nights and the room has a stunningly beautiful view, with a cosy private terasse, the ocean noises and comfortable bed was a great combination to sleep like a baby. Alot of privacy on a beautiful secluded location. Big thanks to Christophe who was friendly, attentive and helpful during our short stay with Rock n’reef. Will definitely stay there again !
We had the BEST time here at Rock’n Reef! The manager, Kristoph is so nice and very helpful. He helped us learn more about the local culture and helped us with every question we had! This was the beginning of our honeymoon and it started off perfect. All the staff is helpful and kind. It was just so easy here. We used the free snorkel gear and rented a moped scooter for $5ish dollars a day! The pineapple pancakes are also delicious! All the food is great and made by locals in the back. And the VIEW is unbeatable. You really don’t have to leave this place. The beach is a few steps away and was the best beach we found in ULUWATU because it wasn’t crowded!
Hotel is perfect for people looking for a little piece of paradise close to the sea. You have access to a small beach where you can enjoy surfing or snorkeling easily. Room quality is good, view is fantastic and service polite. Food is also quite good. Access to the hotel is quite tough: you have to walk in a narrow path with a cliff on one side and then to take steep stairs which is quite difficult by night and/or with luggage. That's what gives charm to the hotel but keep that in mind, you might need help from the staff.
