We had a little staycation here over the long easter weekend and we loved it. We stayed in a suite on the top floor overlooking the airport, and the view was awesome. After a whole year of no travel, watching the (surprisingly frequent) planes landing and taking off was oddly therapeutic. The room itself was very well appointed, quite spacious, and had a great floor plan. The bed was comfy, and was perfect for a lazy weekend. As Platinum members we had access to the lounge, which also overlooks the airport and was a real gem. The service from staff at the lounge was impeccable. They very impressively remembered everybody and their preferences, and were very proactive in providing refreshments while discretely and diligently keeping the lounge clean and tidy at all times. The hot and cold apps during the daily happy hour, while not hugely extensive, were of very very decent quality. It was a quite a treat to be there, and quite a highlight of our stay. Breakfast at Q Square was acceptable, but nothing to write home about. The selections were extensive enough, but nothing was particularly memorable. We only had breakfast one day out of the three nights we were there. The liunge happy hour, on the other hand, we showed up for daily! The check in process was exceptional. Elite recognition here is top-notch, which was quite unexpected. Upon arrival, we were swiftly escorted to the lounge for check in. We had booked two days in a base room and one day in the executive suite. As the suites had been fully booked for the other days at the time of booking, we had no expectation of an upgrade, so we were very pleasantly surprised when they upgraded us to the suite for all three nights. We were also offered 5pm late check out. All of this was offered proactively without any prior request. This Novotel is definitely not stingy with its guests! The location of the hotel is a plus or a minus depending on what you plan to do. For our staycation, the location was pretty much perfect. It sits smack on top of the MRT which can take you to Zhongli and Taoyuan HSR in minutes. However, unless you’re driving, it is the only way to get in and out of the hotel, whcih means you can’t stay out too late. Also, because it’s sandwiched between the highway, motorcycles can’t get in, which means once the MRT closes, there’s no Uber Eats or foodpanda when you get hungry after hours. All in all, this was a great stay. We will definitely be back again.…
Rooms are decent, but very noisy due to nearby location of Runway. Don’t expect a quiet room. Windows do open but due to exhaust of nearby aircraft unable to leave open. Room service food quality is terrible. First meal had to be returned due to food being undercooked and cool. Terrible review do to the horrible food quality served by room service. I’ve stayed here servers times. Terrible food quality each time.
I think they bite more than they can chew. Cost down, QUALITY down. It comes both ways.
TPE Airport Novotel has good rooms, however the communication among staff and guests leaves much to be desired. I’ve stayed here several times, and I’ve always left feeling underwhelmed. Specifically today as I was ironing my shirt in my room, the iron left rust stains on my shirt from the steam holes. I contacted the hotel staff asking for a new iron to try to salvage the mess i now have, and the iron they deliver has surface rust on the iron. Who doesn’t love a rust stained dress shirt! Bottom line, come here with freshly pressed items!
Though it's not the first time I stay in this hotel, comments are still worth to be given. The welcome gift received surprises me. It was not the same kind of fruits as before. It was a packet of red packets for Chinese New Year. The design of them is lovely. Also, I got some strawberries, a piece of chocolate with a Chinese character 'luck' on the surface, assorted nuts and Madeleines. The presentation of them was good as well. Upon my arrival, I found that the bathroom door could not be shut tightly. I talked to the staff about it at the lounge before I left for sightseeing. When I came back that night, the door was repaired. I was satisfied of the rapid response of the staff member, especially Krystal. In the first evening, I stayed at the executive lounge after hanging out for a while day. While I was eating, a staff brought a plate of dessert which is made of ruby chocolate to me. It is my pleasure that I could taste them before they were officially launched during Valentine's Day. They were delicious. On the last night staying in the hotel, I went to the lounge again after buying loads of souvenirs. I found steam fish and "Buddha's delight" (佛跳牆) in the food station which was out of my expectations. I think it is good for promoting Chinese food to non-Chinese visitors though they may not like them. Anyway, both dishes were good in taste to be honest. Last but not least, I would like to thank all the staff in the hotel, especially Krystal, Ling, Rebecca, Ailen and Lucy for providing outstanding services during my stay.…
