What a dump. Got a single bed room for a long 3 day weekend. Walked in the room, turned on the light, walked right out, got a refund and left. 1. Non smoking rooms just mean smoking rooms without an ash tray. 2. Black mold....everywhere. Bathtub surrounded in it. Ceiling dotted, patches on the wall. Every corner and crevice was filled with black mold blooms. Even more on the walls of the bedroom. 3. Pool, yah it's there but empty. You might want to let guests know the pool is empty before you bring the family. 4. Wallpaper peeling off the walls. 5. Water damage around the windows. A complete let down and health hazard. Do not go here if you value your lungs.

We found this hotel totally by accident. It was available only on Agoda website, and Tripadviosr had no review for it either. Somehow after not finding anything interesting on all major sites, i bumped into Agoda and saw this. It was new on Agona, so there were only two reviews. However, pictures showing the stone hotel building, the lake, waterfalls outdoor art works and nature hiking trails all look extremely attractive. We decided to try it out. We walked from Hengchun's central bus station, it was a 35 minute walk. The hotel staff was very friendly and helped us arrange a motorcycle rental later. The hotel was solidly built and full of expensive art work displays. Our room was spacious with a comfortable king size bed and in room wifi. The huge bathroom has luxury wall to ceiling marble wall and marble floor. The room was at the front row facing the lawn, the back row rooms should have even better view with the swimming pool, the lake and the waterfall in sight. We joined the firefly discovery tour at night. It was fun and great to see these precious creatures back after the farm's restoration program. The next day we took an early morning walk and found out how beautify this 120 acre farm was. We immediately changed our plan and spent the whole morning venturing around this farm instead. The hotel owner was pretty visionary in building this pioneer organic farm 40 years ago. For instance, all cables and utility lines have been buried underground out of sight from that time. There is an underground water channel connecting the lake with a reservoir to adjust water storage level. The farm uses marble, stone, and wood extensively everywhere, even the outdoor coffee tables use marble, it was a pleasure to see these beautiful nature materials. We ate at the hotel restaurant at a very late hour just before closing. The cooking was ok but not too impressive. We had hot tea with the owner at the 12 zodiac tea corridor and listened to his life time stories. It was fun! The breakfast was delicious traditional Chinese buffet with several hot dishes including organic vegetables from the garden. There were no western food except coffee. Probably due to insufficient publicity, the hotel still had rooms available the next day. Feeling we liked to enjoy more walks on the hiking trails, we extended our stay for one more night. The hotel upgraded us to a huge corner room that contained a living room, a study room and a bedroom. The new bathroom even had a sauna that can easily fit three people. Wow! What we enjoyed the most was climbing up to the highest point on this farm, a two level pavilion with a giant antique bell. The entire Hengchun peninsula and the ocean can be reviewed from there. It is a wonderful spot to view the famous sunset too. This was truly an adventure that led to an unforgettable experience.
