We moved here after a night in Okra Villa in Kenting - don’t go to either... - and were happy we did. We just turned up and asked for a room and got a beautiful one in the annex, overlooking the palm trees and the ocean. Very nice wooden touches, comfy bed, spacious bathroom, plus our own balcony. You can take a free bike to cycle to Kenting (if you really want to) or Hengshun, which are both just 9km away. Staff were super friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The only two drawbacks were that their excellent Japanese restaurant Mori has moved to Skyebay and that the breakfast buffet was severely slimmed down during the last two days due to the hotel being rather quiet. Hence 4 balls instead of 5 - although 4.5 would have been more appropriate.
We stayed at the Kenting Bay Forest Boutique Hotel during the first week of October 2018. We were lucky that Taiwan missed the typhoon's path, as the weather was sunny and gorgeous. Bay Forest is a beautifully designed hotel built with wood natural to Taiwan. Our second floor room was beautiful, with a great ocean view and perfect location for the breeze coming in through the windows at night and passing through the balcony. The service, from booking our taxi from the train station to breakfasts and dinners to retrieving my husband's forgotten phone at the dive shop, was excellent. The employees were friendly and helpful, going out of their way to assist us. Breakfasts were a choice between Japanese or western...both delicious. Free bicycles were available to borrow, which was great, since Baisha Beach is only five minutes away. We are definitely going to return to Bay Forest!…
This was our favourite of all the hotels in Taiwan. Our unit was large and clean, with all the amenities we could want. The washer/dryer and drying rack were great for doing a mid-trip load of laundry. We borrowed the bikes to ride to the beach, although we could also have walked. The breakfast was one of the best we had on our trip. The location is about 10 minutes drive from town, but I would highly recommend this hotel if you want to stay in this quieter area.
Stayed here for 2 nights. Greeted by warm, young and enthusiastic staff. Very relaxing. Was assigned room in individual two story building 2 mins away from main building. This is closer to the sea, and has its own balcony. See picture for view from balcony. Owner is a local distributor of Taiwanese wood, and rooms are generously endowed with solid wood furniture which lends a warm feel. Quick tips: (A) Ask for sea facing room. Worth upgrading just to see sunset@ Kenting. (B) Plenty of parking. Easy drive to Hengchun (15 mins) and Kenting Night Market (20 Mins). (C) Has coin operated laundry and dryer. 60 TWB per machine. (D) Restaurant’s Mori Restaurant is famous for its hotpot stuffed with vegetables and solid broth. Have dinner at least once if you can. Must let them know before 6pm each day. (E) Walk to the beach through a small trail in front of the Hotel. …
We stay for one night and very satisfy with this quiet and peaceful place. The size of the room and balcony are amazing ,we're very enjoy the sea view and the bath room design, beds are a queen size, breakfast was too simple without choice. This time we've got a problem between booking agent(Agoda, again!I will never use it anymore)and hotel.(oh,and No One took charge of this mistake )hotel staff told me to contact agoda by myself ,because there is *no breakfast* for us on their reservation, even I send the *breakfast include* reservation mail to him ,it's not their problem...... Although they return my extra charge back, but the staff which I'm talked with is politely like a robot and I am very disappointed about it. But don't worry, the other front desk staff are still warm and kind to customers.…
We decided to stay outside of Kenting where it’s quiet and found this hotel. It’s very close to Baisha beach where it’s great to swim and relax on the beach. It’s about 15 minute drive to Kenting if you plan to visit the night market. Also very close to the National Park and all the activities the region offers. We stayed in the building next to the main building and our room was very spacious and nicely decorated. The bathroom was very big with a tub and nice shower. The high wooden ceiling created a great atmosphere. We stayed on the first floor with a balcony with ocean view - just beautiful. Breakfast is very delicious - you can choose between Japanese style or Western. In addition, there is a buffet with toast, yoghurt, fruits and cereal. They offer a restaurant for dinner as well. The only thing they could improve is outside seating. It would be really really nice to be able to enjoy breakfast or dinner outside on a patio with fresh air instead of sitting inside where it’s cold with the air conditioning blasting. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. If you prefer to stay in a quiet area yet close to everything, we highly recommend this hotel.…
Come here with 3 adults and 2 kids. Spacious room with amazing sea view. Can view the sun set if the weather is good. Kids just love the hot tub. Nice breakfast. Great hospitality by the staff. We rented a car and free parking provided. Very closed to the White Sand beach and can quickly get a shower after the swim.
We didn't stay here but had a rather special evening over dinner on site. Service & food are amazing. The hotel is boutique with good quality furnishing. I would love to come back to Kenting & stay here again.
We loved this hotel! The location, beautiful architecture and design, and simply impeccable customer service combined to a great experience. Plus there are free bikes to take to the beach or on the road nearby. There are some challenges. The "Western" breakfast option is pre-plated and a bit odd: undercooked omelette with a sausage and ham slice plus French fries. And either potato salad or green salad with corn kernels (varied by day) and sometimes chicken nuggets or a fried chicken thigh. The free coffee at breakfast is horrible. There's a Jura but no one on staff knew how to use and. I couldn't explain it to them as I don't speak mandarin. Still for the excellent customer service overall, I give this hotel 5 stars. Really friendly helpful staff who always do what you need.
My family love this small boutique hotel. From the moment we drove up to the time we checked out- everything was wonderful. Hotel amenities- we really didn't use any part of the hotel except their dining room. We were out and about for most part of the day. Bedroom/Bathroom: I booked their quadruple room with sea view. This has the most fantastic view of the ocean and the coconut trees. This is probably the main reason why I'm rating this hotel a full 5-stars, despite lacking in some amenities. The view makes up for what is missing. Our rooms got 2 balconies - not connected- so we really didn't use the other one. I do wish for a more comfortable balcony chairs. The balcony railing tends to block the view when you're sitting. They do provide you with the following basic stuff- 1. 4 bottles of water a day 2. Tea and coffee 3. Toiletries- only shampoo and body wash I think (I can't really tell). They also provide us with toothbrush/paste, comb, etc- no conditioner, no lotion, no bathrobe. I ended up buying these missing supplies at Watsons nearby (5 mins away). 4. Slippers 5. Toilet paper - I do have to comment on how thin these toilet papers are. We finished a roll a day (on the first day, we actually ran out of a roll we asked our son to go pick more up at the front desk). By the way, if you're booking at booking.com like we did, their site will mention a bidet in the restroom-- if you're thinking of a bidet attached to the toilet like in Japan- you will be disappointed. They actually meant a baby bidet. The kind were you give your baby a bath. That was a total let down since our family is used to toilet bidet. Bathroom has a bath tub and a separate shower- really cool setup. Great water pressure. Water heats up pretty fast. Bathtub is in a small side. My husband cannot fit in it. This is a very quite hotel. If you want to get some peace and quite- this is an awesome place. Regarding the food, dinner was delicious and generously portioned. Breakfast was included in my rate so we ate breakfast every morning. I really like the Japanese menu vs Western. If you see a potato salad - you might want to skip it. My husband got sick after eating it. They do not serve lunch- I suggest driving to Kenting for lunch. Overall, I will definitely book here again despite lacking in some areas. I think this is the best one so far in the area. I do see some constructions closer to Baisha Beach- this hotel will need to up its game if it's going to compete against the newly constructed ones with better location (may be they'll start providing robes). …
