#19 of 916 B&Bs / Inns in Hengchun
Sasa Nor L'amour is a place where visitors will truly understand the meaning of love. A beloved father of two lovely daughters, Sally and Sharon, named this B&B after their first letters of their first names. He then added L'amour, which means 'love' in French. Living and working so far away from his daughters, he wanted to show just how close to his heart they are to him. We hope all our visitors can feel the same way as this father does, regardless of how apart you are from your loved ones. Within only 21 m from the beach, Sasa Nor Lamour B& B is located just opposite Chuanfanshih Beach where guests can enjoy the sunset in winter time. It offers free WiFi throughout the property and an on-site restaurant. There are 3 different buildings designed in different styles in Sasa Nor Lamour B& B. The main building (Building 1) is decorated in modern style, the second building (Building 2) is a private villa, and the third building (Building 3) is decorated in simple style. Each unit is 21 m

Absolutely loved the location of this hotel. Directly across the street is a nice Beach and Bay with lovely sunset views. I chose the economical room in the third building which doesn't have a view but is still just a minute to the beach and they're lovely other building. Cost was about $1,000 and includes a nice breakfast. Nice quiet area and you are only about 2-3 km from the center of kenting. Staff is generally Young kids from other areas but they are very friendly and happy to help in any way. They're English is pretty darn good. 7-Eleven is just 2 minutes down the road. They also have a really nice washing machine that is available for you to use and dryer that needs only about $30 to dry your clothes.

The accomodation consists of 3 buildings. I booked this place for its closeness to a beach (and in the end this was the best part about my stay here) and because it had such good comments at the booking website I had been using. I booked a room, which was described as 'Double Room with Sea View - Building No.1'. A first negative impression I got, when shortly after booking I received a message, that a 50% deposit has to be paid through Paypal within 48 hours, otherwise the booking gets cancelled. And that the remaining amount has to be paid in TWD cash, no credit cards accepted. After I had made the payment I wrote to the hotel that I would like a confirmation that the payment has been received. I never got an answer. When checking in I was requested to pay the full amount in cash. When I said that I had made a prepayment of 50% through Paypal (plus a fee of 5%), I was asked: 'Can you prove it?'. As a seasoned traveler I could. After phone-calls with 'the boss' and checking the calender and so on, they finally found out that I had made a prepayment on Nov 20th. Not a good start. My room was about 4 floors up a narrow and steep staircase. There is no elevator, but the receptionist offered to help with the suitcase. The room was aesthetically quite pleasing and basically not too small, but a nightmare for a 6-ft Westerner, since the ceiling of half the room, the part towards the window came down to my chest. Here could be found a low table and low chairs, which reminded me of a Japananese ryokan. Otherwise there was no writing desk, no wardrobe. I had to leave my things in the suitcase. I also missed a reading lamp near the bed. The double bed faced a see through shower with only a TV screen blocking a part of the view. The room could have been fun for honeymooners. There is a buffet for breakfast available with a very limited choice. At least they had scrambled eggs, could make a toast and had a very good coffee. A breakfast is all that gets served here. For any other meal one has to go elsewhere. Since around the accomodation there is only a '7 eleven' shop to be found, one has to go all the way to Kenting. To the first restaurant there, 'Smokey Joe', it is a 30 minutes walk, to the other end of town with a 'McDonald's' it is 60 minutes. A taxi ride to Kenting costs 200 TWD. Basically it is best to rent a car or a scooter here. What I enjoyed most about my stay here was the beach with the water being around 20° C, warmer than the air (the hotel offers beach towels). When it comes to the staff at the accomodation they alone would have deserved a top rating. They were very friendly and they offered me to spend Chinese New Year's Eve with them. And since there don't seem to be too many Westerners coming here, they asked me at departure to pose for a picture holding the red New Years envelope, which the hotel had given to me and which did contain a TWD 100 bill. Apparently working with a local agency called 'Miss Travel' they also organized for me an excellent full day private trip through Kenting National Park with Nana, a charming half Taiwanese, half Iranian lady-driver and guide. Also the taxi transfer back to Kaohsiung with a male driver of the same company was very good. For what was offered the rate was far too high, but I had to consider the fact that I came in high season. Other rooms I did see looked quite nice and if I had been staying in one of them, my review would most probably have been way more positive.
