Greenery and freshness of air really attracting guest to stay longer. Will come back again when time permits. Bringing along family members to have a break through and is a memorable place for us. Warming treatment by staff added points to the villa.
1) the hotel is a nice wooden cottage style but the beds were extremely cold in nov. so cold that we could sleep. and the water was very cold too. 2) this is the worst part, the staff behaved like they could care about the guests at all. when asking them qns, we were returned with blank faces and short and non-comprehensive answers. 3) breakfast was very simple but, surprisingly tasty. 3) the hotel surrounding is okie... not bad... some red flowering trees and a mini garden in the common area but thats abt it. I wouldnt stay in this hotel again or recommend it to anyone. would u?
Stay here for one night, and was taking 4 pax room. Quite comfortable stay and facilities provided is quite ok. The hotel provide breakfast as well. Average choice and should be able to improve if more variety food provided in the breakfast
The facilities is a bit dated with basic amenities (kettle, TV) and has a couch (old). Bed is ok, one king on ground floor and another king on 1st floor. Cons 1) stairs. In some ways we were lucky as we were in the first level so only has 1 flight of stairs. There are others at lower level which means more steps. 2) There is ceiling heating is not sufficient to heat ground floor, i.e. cold downstairs 3) Breakfast facilities is in a building across the road on 1st floor - again more stairs Pros 1) View. Our villa has 2 balconies, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor which is looking east..Sunrise is spectacular 2) View 3) View ... did i say that already?
Stayed at Sea of Clouds with my family for a night. We got a room with balcony on the 2nd level. Room was big but a little tired looking. Basic amenities were provided but not a hot water kettle. The hot water dispenser is located on the 1st floor, thus quite inconvenient. Also, the pavement from the carpark to the villas is made up of rock slabs with gaps in between; no way one can roll the luggage but to carry it. An average stay but would not recommend for families with young toddlers.
BED BUGS!! 8 bed bugs bite in one night. Horrible. The bedsheet and the bed cover was dirty. We were very tired from the hilly roads but we could not rest well. There's no heater (no air cond or fan as well) in the room so it was pretty cold at night. There's window but it's not safe to open because the window was facing the walkway. The room was spacious, equipped with basic amenities. Bathroom was clean but very old. Breakfast selection was ok but the food was not good. No view from my room as it's located on the ground floor. Not convenient for senior citizens or disabled people as the path to the room were not smooth. I do not recommend this place.
We stayed at this hotel 3 years ago and it still look the same. Rooms are equipped with basic amenities – basic toiletries items, coffee & tea sachet and drinking water. Rooms are pretty spacious but beginning to look tired. Breakfast is included in the room package and you can expect Taiwan style buffet breakfast – porridge with condiments and dishes. The soya milk is probably one of the best in Taiwan (served in a hotel). Staffs are quite friendly and the surrounding area is pretty quiet. Overall, it is a pleasant experience to stay in this hotel.
My room was clean and enough for 2 persons! And it looked like a chalet! There was a balcony outside my room and I can see the clouds of fog there! Just a fairyland! However, many chalets were built along the hill and some of them were a little far from the restaurant and lobby of hotel! Mine was also far and I had to carry my baggage with many stairs up and down the hill! It was not good coz some stairs were not good for seniors (we were 4 families and 6 seniors)!
Sea of Cloud Vacation Villa has two separated blocks of buildings along the main road, Renhe Road, of Cingjing. The reception, restaurant and some of the rooms are at the old blocks, which i will call Villa I. Immediately across the road is the new blocks, which i will call Villa II, that has a open air car park that is dimly lit at night, and chalet type of rooms built on the hill slope behind the car park. Villa II looked deserted with no hotel staff stationed there. My review is basically on Villa II as we stayed there for a night. And we have also stayed a night in a B & B of the same class just next to Villa II, thus we have a comparison. The room is fairly big and fairly clean. No air-cond, no fan and you have to adjust the louvre panels on the door for better ventilation, you could open the window too but then safety might be an issue as there was no grill on the window and anyone can walk to our rooms. There is no heated mattress pad and this may be a problem for cold winter night. The room was supplied with basic toiletries in a big plastic bag. The wash room is not big and has not enough space to keep your toiletries. No shower screen in the washroom, thus after shower the whole washroom floor was wet. Another negative point for Villa II is you have to carry your luggage over many flights of stairs, as there is no lift. Though the staff has helped us to carry the luggage down the stairs during our check-in, we have to lugged our heavy luggage up the stairs when we check-out as it was a hassle to walk to the reception to get the service and also we could sense it during the check in that the staff was not that willing to provide such service. The receptionist was not friendly nor helpful; however the lone lady manning the restaurant was pleasant and helpful. You have to walk across the main road to Villa I for your breakfast too and this can be an inconvenience during raining days. The restaurant for breakfast is not big, very basic and more like a canteen. The breakfast was very simple and nothing worthwhile to mention.…
We booked a family room for four. This hotel is old and dated with basic furniture. They don't provide a kettle in the room however there're water dispensers outside some rooms. The one nearest to us was a few villas away, leaving the room just for some hot water with an outside temperature of below 10 degrees Celsius isn't exactly my cup of tea. Heating in the room is turned on at 7pm and a cockroach invaded our room in the middle of the night. Free wifi in the room. Breakfast was basic, nothing to shout about and the room was overcrowded after 8am. Restaurants and a 7 eleven is just a short stroll away from the hotel. Would I stay in this hotel again? I would say, if I ever decide to visit this place again, I would definitely give another hotel a try.
