Booked a double room. No lift access fm lobby to our room. Had to carry our luggages up a small flight of stairs. Room was dated but came equipped with basic amenities like toothbrushes, hair dryer, shampoo, shower gel, electric kettle, 2 bottled water. There is no aircon in the room. There’s a fan which we turned on to have some air circulation.

There’s a MOS burger, Starbucks, 7 eleven, small eateries and souvenir shops located next to the guesthouse. Had a meal at Patite 洋餐馆 - do try their mutton hotpot, pretty yummy and value for money! The small eateries serving local taiwanese dishes like beef noodles, braised pork rice and fried chicken cutlet were awesome as well!

The guesthouse is located just opposite Little Switz Garden (小瑞士花园) and is about 2km walk from Green Green Grassland (青青草原). Carton King is located relatively near the guesthouse as well.

Not too bad for a short stay.

Gotten a 10% birthday discount with the hotel. Hotel package comes with free Little Swiss Garden & Green Green Grassland entrance tickets. Enjoyed the taiwanese breakfast very much, for travelers whom prefer the western breakfast may not enjoy as much. The room comes with a nice balcony with mountainous view. Wifi is very weak in the room, only manage to get strong signals at the lobby. Hotel is near 7-11, Starbucks, Mos Burger, souvenirs shop and other small eateries. Little Swiss Garden is just 10 mins away from the hotel. Shuttle bus is available for Green Green Grassland, though you may choose to walk up to the attraction, it is about 2km away.

The nice thing about the hotel is that the room comes with tickets to the swiss garden and the farm. I book the hotel from website, however, most people just get the rooms on the spot. I see that they have some discount vouchers that gives them even cheaper rooms - not sure how to get it though. The room is nice with balcony. The breakfast is not so good though. Very basic. Hotel is easily accessible as it's one of the stops where the bus will stop by. Across the road, there is 7 eleven. Next to hotel there is starbucks, mos burger. Swiss garden is walking distance but you need to take a bus to reach the farm.

We stay in the VIP room @502 for two days. The view from the balcony is nice, room is spacious, there is a sleeping area with a TV and a living room with leather sofa set and 40 over inches TV. The bath room is huge as well, separated into shower, bathtub and basin area. Location is superb, reataurants, fastfood and convenience stores are stones throw away. Carton King restaurant is just opposite the guest house, food is good.

It was a relaxing stay and has a nice view from the hotel room. The room is big and spacious which makes it comfortable. The toiletries provided have cute sheep printings on it, which I thought were worth keeping. The staff were friendly and helpful. There's free Wifi access. However, the Wifi was not strong in my room. We asked a cleaner to help us adjust the router's antenna (we spotted it somewhere, can't remember where), to face it to the direction of our room to improve the Wifi signal, however to no avail. Hence, we had to go out to a seating area located at a corner along the corridor of hotel rooms to receive a better signal (nearer to the internet router). It is quite commendable of the hotel to set up these seating areas along the corridor.

The location is good, as it is near 7-11 and also near to the bus stop whereby we can easily access to other farms via buses.

Breakfast was good, a rather wide spread of food.

I am not a picky person and am usually quite generous in my review. However sadly this would be my first hotel review that I would have to rate as poor.

Firstly I was shocked by the size of the hotel room. There was hardly any room to move around, let alone space to open our luggages. We are a family of 4 staying in the family room for 4 pax and imagine the frustration we had to open our luggages one at a time.
The management should consider removing some redundant furnitures, such as bulky chairs from the small rooms. The bulky tables & chairs do not make the room look elegant when there is limited space.

Secondly, furnishing & appliances in the room were old and poorly maintained. 2 of the rooms we booked had problems with the television and lights. Electrical fans provided in the rooms were also dusty.

I felt deceived by the hotel website which showed spacious, clean & well kept rooms. It was supposed to be the “best” hotel in Qing Jing but it was a total disappointment.

This hotel really was the closest to the shops, despite having to climb maybe 3 flights of stairs to get to the shops.

Pros:
- Had good wifi: but my room was just above the lobby
- Near the shops
- Near a bus stop
- Is a hotel - so has hotel facilities (other than outdoor ones)
- Very clean despite being a little 'aged'
- Room was pretty big - but I traveled alone
- Along many footpaths for exploring the area
- Staff were able to give good recommendations -original sunset tour with travel agency was cancelled, when asked, hotel staff recommended the nearby sunset walking trail
- A treetop walking path is being built connecting the area near the hotel to 'Green green pastures', when asked, staff at the farm said the pathway should be done by the end of this year: will have a stunning view of the valley

Cons:
- Breakfast: even with low expectations, the breakfast was decidedly depressing. Food choice was limited, presentation was sloven, taste was barely passable and the atmosphere of the restaurant was just one of defeat almost - fortunately: 7-eleven was nearby
- So. Many. Stairs. To get to the shops.
- A heater in the room would have been a great boon

In general, for someone who stayed only one night, I loved my time there. I found it was situated in the perfect spot for a lone traveler that wouldn't stray to far by herself.

Taking the bus to the farm was super easy with the bus card I got in Taipei, and counter staff even gave me a schedule of timings for the bus. During the cold season, there weren't any bugs at all, so i wasn't bothered by that though other reviews complain of mosquitos.

Just a note too, at the shops nearby, the lovely shop that sells scented soaps, also sells postcards, AND included in the price of the postcard is postage! Had lunch at the western restaurant on the second floor, and the lamb chop was delish. Sit near the corner of the restaurant next to the window. Made the meal that more special.

This is our first time staying at this hotel. The room that we stayed is really dirty, old and tired. Thou the location is near to restaurants and 7-11 but will not consider this guest house the next time. Even in cold winter, they don't provide heater in the room. Thou it did not have Aircon in the room but it was really cold. We need to wear a few layer of clothes to sleep. Not suitable for old or families with children.

Sitting on the cool hotel room balcony gazing at the quiet panoramic views of mountain tops at 1750m above sea level whilst sipping a hot Starbucks latte (from the outlet down the road) is an amazing experience.

It makes the 2.5 hour winding bus trip from Taichung (which does not stop at the front of the hotel but 50m away up the road) worth it.

The room itself is fine for a usual 3 star hotel but the breakfast was not only very limited but horrific as the cherry tomatoes were unwashed and stained and the staff hurriedly went to wash them after the matter was raised.. the open nutella bowl spread also had at least 5/6 insects circling it..

The biggest problem was transport as a cab ride to the Green Green Grassland (5 mins) was at an extortion price of TWD200 which apparently is the price fixed by the cabbies there.. the mountain buses are infrequent and there is no place to wait for them except by the side of the narrow windy mountain roads which had trucks spewing their exhaust at your face.. ;(

Hence, it may be worth an idea to hire a daily cab - was quoted TWD5000 for a full day for trips to Sun Moon Lake, Puli etc

The little bonuses from the hotel included 10% discount on your birthday month as well as tickets to Little Swiss Garden (nice flowers but dirty pond water) and Green Green Grassland (nice views but unwashed sheep, walkways unkempt, lots of flies, old commercial stalls, saved by charming horse riding show).. recommended nearby shops are Carton King, 7-Eleven, Starbucks and La Patite Hotpot

After the traumatic bust trip up, we decided to spend TWD1800 for a cab down to Taichung which took just 1 hour.

I didn't like our room since there wasn't any air-conditioning and there were a lot of mosquitoes. They do provide you with an electric fan but I didn't think it was enough. Oh and wifi barely reached our area so we had to stay at the lobby for internet access.

The good thing about their package was that they provided tickets for the Little Swiss Garden and the Green Green Grassland which I think was awesome. This was definitely the highlight of our stay.

The Little Swiss Garden was just across the hotel, on the other hand we rode our tour bus going to Green Green Grassland.
