I wish I can write more but seriously this place is out of this world. The wooden cabin is really nice. We woke up to an amazing view each morning. The place is clean and tidy. We didn’t use the kitchen but seriously, it’s really comfortable but cool at night. They have a small heater and heated mattresses and that was sufficient. Breakfast was simple yet fresh. Will return again

This is a very spartan accommodation, something we were not totally prepared for. We spent TWD7500 a night for the two room villa and stayed for two nights. To put things in perspective, we are spoilt tourists used to good class hotels and not adept at any form of DIY or hardship. We are writing this review to prepare other travelers with similar expectations. We recognize that many of the items listed below are expected conditions for many seasoned Taiwanese minsu travelers. (1) There is no heating in the room and temperatures can dip to 15 degrees at night. Ventilation is only by opening the windows. (2). The beautiful view from the bathtub is marred by the water temperature being “not hot enough even at max H”. Granted this is subjective but I usually find Japanese Onsen a little too hot and need to wriggle in slowly. (3). Other than a welcome snack and a basic breakfast, there are no other dining options. (4). There is no phone in the villa and the employees are very slow at responding to their whasapp chat. Of course one can just walk out to the reception ( but I’m writing for spoilt tourists) or call international + roaming. In fact, after 8 pm the reception is closed and you do need to call them using your phone for anything. (5). We asked them to help is clean the cutlery when they make up the room - not done (6). Please bring enough cash as they strongly prefer cash payment to PayPal (no direct credit card either) The view is spectacular though.

I took the 4 person villa during May 2018: Pros: Free mini bar Nice views from the large clear windows. Friendly staffs Food is nice and fresh. Cons: Far from most amenities Only a single restaurant nearby Some of the furniture are old and not maintained Neutral: Cleanliness of the rooms are somewhat OK. Might not be the most valued for money villas in the area without the scenic view.

After a nerve wreaking ride up in total darkness via the mountainous and ridiculously winding road from Taroko Gorge (including me puking at the peak of HeHuanShan in pitch darkness), we finally make our way to beautiful and homely 5km. Before that.... Be warned, at almost 10pm, the only food you will find on the mountain are at the CingJing Tourist Center where 7-11 is opened. We managed to squeeze in the final order from the friendly Mos Burger staff who fired up the fryers to feed a tired but hungry gang of teens with burgers and fries (Thumbs Up to Mos Burger!!) Our host stayed up and welcomed us warmly and swiftly checked us in, helped us with our luggages and ushered off the rest of the entourage to their already closed dining room to eat our takeouts from Mos Burger. That’s Service to be proud about! We were allocated 2 adjoining loft family villas (with a common kitchen and entrance). The rooms were really cozy and adequately spacious and ventilation in winter was fine but I do wonder if the small windows will suffice in summer. The lower floor Japanese-style living room with raise tatami floors offer ample rooms for storage and to laze around while we snack on hot mountain tea and chips/nuts. Bring along your own video boxes if you wish to entertain yourselves on the two TVs. Shower cum toilet were adequate with a killer view of the scenic mountains without worrying about any peeping toms. The loft mattresses came with heater pads which we switched off after a while because it was a warm winter night (15C). Needless to say, we slept like babes on the comfortable and clean beds. We woke up next morning to breathtaking views from our bedroom and balcony. Some of us took a quick hike up the in-house walking trail to a vantage lookout for even better views before making our way to breakfast in the dining room. Breakfast was simple but colorful sandwiches and hard boiled eggs with pretty weak coffee. We hurriedly checked out after breakfast to tour the surroundings of CingJing (eg. Swiss Garden) Now for the views, we learnt that one won’t enjoy the famous “sea of clouds” if the weather is dry, only on wet days then one ca see then in abundance. Alas, we missed them this time and could only spy a weak nature display from a distance. We wished we planned for 2 nights stay to enjoy 5km but then CingJing has limited sightseeing or activities. Off to Sun Moon Lake next...

Our family had a wonderful experience here high up in the mountain. The view is amazing and what an experience having breakfast out in the open balcony area overlooking the clouds and breathtaking scenery. The villa is made of wood and there's a large coffee area for our family to have some games and activities. The only thing perhaps would be that we needed to carry our luggages up/down the stairway and are so grateful to have a wonderful taiwan chartered driver Frank Xie who volunteered to help with the luggages. Would definitely recommend him (Whatsapp : +886-938391319, Line : frank090477)

We had a fantastic stay at this minsu. Will definitely recommend the villa room if you have budget. Definitely worth it. Can't be nicer with the gigantic tub and the room is very spacious. We love the modern contemporary design which rarely can find in this area. For sure, the breathtaking view from the room and the hill top platform for sunset is unforgettable. You can sit on the day bed and do nothing for the whole day here. The staff and owner are all very friendly and warm. They even offer us a bottle of complimentary red wine as they know we came for celebrating our wedding anniversary. We did have a dinner with them like a family. There is a charge but it's a very nice experience. Most surprisingly, even their cat LuLu (black one) is so welcoming. She show us all the way to the hilltop platform like a host. Last but not least, they got english channels like HBO, Fox Movie! All in all, highly recommend this place.

A wonderful view of the mountains and you can even see a natural feature of a woman’s side view and “noah ark”. Morning sunrise is nice especially if one walk up the trail just behind the cabins to the lookout points

There was no doubt the gorgeous view the villa was set out to face but the interior of the lobby was somewhat unassuming when we were checking in. Once we got to our room however, it took us no time at all to fall in love with what welcomed us : a nice lounge with high bar table and a comfy 2 seater sofa overlooking the mountain, lake and valleys; a lovely mini garden at the 'balcony'; a massive hot tub and a lovely (and super comfortable) platform bed. Winning!

Day 7 of our half island tour. Checked into 5km villa 2 bedder villa for four. It is a cottage onto itself with a living room and two bedrooms. The highlight of this villa is its scenic views from each room. From dawn to dusk, u get glorious sun and view. Tucked right at the middle of the mount, it is better to check in earlier to arrange for dinner with them, leave ur luggage there and proceed to Qing Ching grassland. Upon return, lug ur luggage up the steps to your villa. Almost all rooms are heated and blankets are heated. The afternoon tea, i was expecting tea but they serve fruit punch. Papaya flavor. Not my cup of tea. Breakfast consists of sandwiches and egg omelettes. The hosts are elderly and everything is done at a leisurely pace. I recommend this as a tour stop b4 hehuan shan and then hualien. A good break and is scenic. Very quiet. Enjoy!
