Our cycle group came here on our Taiwan Tour. Surrounding area is ordinary, but well located near to train stations, night markets, shops, coin laundry etc. Service and facilites were good. Views from 12th floor Banquet Room over river are great. Buffet breakfast was very good.

Quite good and comfy stay but a bit on the expensive side. Breakfast was included in with room rates, just the selection a bit lacking. Only the new wing we are staying in was nice and new but its entrance was through a back walkway to get to this new wing tower which is deserted and further away from reception and concierge. Nevertheless, the beds are comfortable and room quite big for a triple beds room.

Stayed in New Riverview Suites for 3 nights in November 2017. We arrived late at 7pm and guests are all dropped off at the old Riverview Hotel building entrance. We were caught in the whirlwind of 3 other large tour buses doing group check-in at the same time. We were still promptly checked-in within 10 minutes and shown our way to the New Riverview Suites building by a friendly Concierge.

Stayed in a Twin Sharing [2609] and a Triple Sharing [2503] room which is 1 minute walk away from the old Riverview Hotel. Both rooms were spacious and were around the same size - [2609] had 2 single beds and a small indoor balcony area while [2503] has 3 single beds. All guests have to tap their key cards at the ground floor before they can enter the new building - meaning guests from the other tower is unable to access this area.

The rooms are spacious and clean with all the comfort of a 5-Star Hotel. The bathrooms are separated from the room with a glass but you can just roll roll down the blinds and close the wooden sliding door. It has a bathtub and also a separate standing shower area with all the toilet amenities provided.

Breakfast is served on the 12th floor of the older Riverview Hotel building which means its shared with guests from the other tower. The dining area has a great view of the river and the breakfast spread is not too bad (mostly Chinese food). Only problem was having a slightly longer waiting time for the lift when there are large tour groups going for breakfast or checking out of the hotel at the same time.

The New Riverview Suites is located on the outer edges of Xi Men Ding, around 8-10 minutes walk along Cheng Du Street or E-Mei Street from Xi Men MRT station. If you like a straight road back, walk along E-Mei Street. If you like to look for various choices of food stalls, walk along Cheng Du Street. The hotel provides shuttle service to and fro Xi Men station, guests just have book the ride at the Reception 30 minutes in advance.

There are lots of food and shopping in Xi Men Ding, just approach the friendly Receptionist and Concierge (they are also the Shuttle Bus Drivers) - they are all ever helpful with directions, restaurant reservations and all the queries I had.

The New Riverview Suites also provides free wifi but it does not have a gym or swimming pool. It is a great hotel for families to stay in as it is hard to find large and affordable hotel rooms within the Xi Men Ding area. I will definitely stay in the hotel again during my next trip.

customer service is non-existent here. Have been trying to contact the hotel for the past few days to make requests/queries for my upcoming trip but no replies at all. Really terrible.

Would not recommend until they get their act together.

Stayed for few nights for biz trip. New renovated hotel building next to old 'Riverview hotel' (same owner and share reception and other facilities.

Pluses:

- rooms are comfortable and nice. Even have big balcony;

- stAff is trying always to help (even if it does not work all the time - but still good service);

- location is good (super close to Ximen area) and shuttle bus every 30 mins to Ximen station (even if you can walk 10 mins among nice neighborhood);

Minuses:

- BREAKFAST (place and food). It is in next to it in old hotel......

Place is super tacky, old (like country side of Mainland China 1-2 stars restaurant).....

Food is just horrible. Literally so far worst breakfast I had in years..... black sausages (seriously???), boiled bacon, grey eggs...... cold, horribly looking, poor quality and Choice..... just bad..... really bad..... as I came for work and no time to look for other places - had to eat in Starbucks nearby (can't eat this food even for free)....

Well... if you don't eat breakfast - recommend... if you do - it is have to be improved and moved to new building or just buy some food in advance....

Firstly, this hotel is adjoining to Hotel Riverside Taipei‎, and they share the same check-in and lobby, so don't be alarmed that the lobby doesn't look like it does in the pictures (because I was!!). A taxi from the Taoyuan Airport will cost you about 1,200TWD.

Location: Located in Ximending, it's within walking distance (10 minutes) to shops and restaurants. But it's also a 15 minute walk to the nearest MRT station (Ximen), which makes public transport a little inconvenient. There is a shuttle bus going between the hotel and the station every half hour, but it's just not as convenient as being able to walk there. We ended up just catching a cab a lot because of this.

The room: The room was lovely. We got a family room for 4 guests, which had 2 queen beds and a large bathroom. It was awesome that they charged the same for 2 guests as for 4 guests, because it's exactly the same room! But many other hotels would charge you extra...

The beds were really warm and comfy, and the pillows were really nice as well. The only negative about the room was the broken air-con. No matter what temperature we set it to, it continued to drop and drop, til we turned it off at 15 deg C. We even asked the hotel staff to come by and fix it for us,‎ after which it rose from 15 to 17 deg, but when we went to sleep and woke up in the morning, it was back to 16 deg, so we just kept it off from then on. The staff did give us extra blankets though which were really warm!

Service: Service was good. Everyone is really friendly, and we were always greeted at the New Riverside Suites lobby and walked to the escalators, where the staff would wait until the lift doors closed.

I probably wouldn't stay here again though, because I'd prefer to stay near a MRT station. But I did like being walkable to Ximending area.

There are two properties in this hotel: an old wing located on 77 Huan Ho South Road and the new wing on Chengdu Road. Both wings are joined together by a small garden. If you are booked on "New Riverview Suites Hotel" on Chengdu Road, you should, nevertheless tell the driver the address as 77 Huan Ho South Road because this is where the entrance to the hotel & the reception are situated. The new wing has very nice cozy rooms. I particularly like the balcony area which is separated by a curtain from the main bedroom. The bathroom is big with a bathtub and shower and glass wall (with shades). Breakfast covers a wide spread, including some California sushi rolls made of purple rice. Breakfast is located on top floor of the old wing with a panoromic view of Taipei city across the Tansui River. Many tour groups from China, Korea & Thailand stay in the old wing but everybody eats at the same dining room during breakfast. So even though you may stay in the nice new "suites", you have to deal with large groups of tourists. On my first morning, walking through the garden connecting the new and old wings, there was a huge rat trying to get out of the lobby bar area. So when I entered the lobby, it ran towards the auto-door that opened in front of me. I informed the receptionist about the rat but she did not seem to care. On the whole, the door porters are much friendlier than the desk receptionists who appear to disregard guests unless you get their attention.

I went to this hotel with my family with two double beds in the room. The bed were big enough for two adults. Clean room, not so big but not so small. It was ok for four people to fit in. The shower room was clean as well.(I am very keen with cleaning) the location wise was ok 10-15mins walk to Ximen station, depends how fast you walk.
You can also find lawson near by ,5mins walk but it's better to walk with someone rather than going alone because the street is quite dark at night. The staffs were nice but they don't really speak english.

A 5 day 4 night stay with this New Riversuite Hotel was truly amazing!

Location:
Hotel is located near Xi Men Ding (approx. 10 minutes away). If you are coming from the metro, please use XMD exit 6. However the nearest route will be first locate the Eslite bookstore in XMD area (the one that is at Ermei street), then walk straight all the way down and you can see the hotel on your left side. Many stores and boutique on the way, never get bored!

Attraction Nearby:XMD, Karaoke studios that operates 24 hours, Carrefour (24 hours), many movie cinema, and many steamboat restaurant that operates late in the night!

Hotel Quality:
The New Riverview Hotel is actually part of the Riverview Hotel, the new extension on the other building. It is well furnished with pastel colour theme, and beautiful furniture in the lobby. The room is very big and spacious, with a big and well equipped bathroom. You will get to see both a shower area and a big bathtub with glass window to see the whole room and the television. However, you can lower the shuttle if you are going with friends, no worry.

Staff:
The staff in the hotel is very polite and friendly whereby they will greet and bow to you every time they see you. There were a few times where we need help in the middle of the night, the staff attended to us were polite and solve our problem quickly. As we always come back late in the night, the staff were also very nice to have our room clean up in the afternoon 4pm when we are out. Very attentive and thankful to them.
(They really treat you like their VIP)

Overall, I am very impressed and really happy that I chose this hotel just a few weeks before the trip hoping and indeed turn out to be a enjoyable one.

- Very modern spacious rooms with comfy beds;
- Good service;
- Ok small gym;
- Beautiful view for breakfast;
- Ok location - 10 mins walk to Ximen.

Minuses:
- wifi signal is super bad... asked few times to do something - didnt work.... all the time disconnected, cant even send messages on skype or wechat sometimes...
- breakfast is really poor quality.... but it is general for many hotels in Taipei... dont know why - but food for breakfasts mostly here is really bad..... rare can find good one.
