Our family stayed for two nights. The location is an easy walk from the bus stop, free parking is also available on site. We were welcomed right away. Greg and Kim explained the procedure with check in, breakfast, hotel amenities, etc. They even gave us a map and suggested some sightseeing that we could do that afternoon. They gave us an excellent restaurant recommendation for supper. The breakfast was hot and fresh. Hotel was very clean, modern, quiet. There are several friendly cats that live in the hotel. I would definitely return!

We stayed at Doris Home - a cosy, pet-friendly accommodation. The location is really close to the Sun Moon Lake (walking distance to Shuishe Pier). Rooms are really awesome and in good taste. Design and decoration is related to cats. You have panoramic windows and big bathtub. Also, you won’t be lonely staying at Doris' because there are lots of adorable cats and kittens available to play with (the name is after one of them). They also serve delicious breakfast and coffee in the morning.

I recently stayed at this charming property tucked away in a quiet alley, just a 5-minute walk from the bus terminal. The architecture is beautifully designed, featuring cozy yet elegant stairs connecting the lobby to the third floor, with a well-maintained elevator also available.
The property boasts a wonderful collection of books, focusing on Taiwanese and Japanese literature, with a special emphasis on cats and the publishing business. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, spending time reading in the cozy lobby, sipping on complimentary coffee and tea (self-service), and appreciating the serene atmosphere.
The staff were well-trained and efficient in welcoming guests. We stayed in two rooms on the third floor, both of which were spacious, well-equipped, and impeccably clean. The cat-themed decorations added a delightful touch to the overall experience.
Check-in was smooth at 3 PM, and we enjoyed our stay until 11 AM the next morning. This property is perfect for quiet individuals who love reading and have a fondness for cats. Highly recommended!

A lovely property with modern and cheerful rooms with all amenities . It felt new but is just very well maintained being already 6 years old.
It has a cat theme - so look out for all the little cat themed decorations - but also several real cats.
Well located within a 3-5 minutes walk from Shuishe visitors centre but tucked in a quiet spot.
Service staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was so so but sitting area was pleasant .

When you are away from your home, you are still looking for that comfort that makes you feel at home. Doris Home B&B gave us precisely that. We spent only one night there. It is every bit we have expected. From the elegant architectural design of the building, beautiful grounds with lush green landscaping. Inside, it is bright , spacious and airy. It is tucked away in a more secluded side of Suishe yet not that far from the scenic trail that hugs the lakeshore. During our stay there we walked there multiple times.
But it is not just the infrastructure make this place standing out, the excellent service we received making us want to come back and to re-experience once more. From the delicious breakfast we had to the extraordinary curtesy tour of the visitor center nearby by the inn’s owner, we feel very connected to the place: Sun Moon Lake, but also to the generation of people who lives on this land, and enjoyed the tremendous hospitality. Sun moon lake is one of the place we visit quite often. Typically we stayed at the hotels which are pretty nice. Doris home is warm with home feelings which hotels can’t offer. The host is great. We will definitely stay there again.

Lovely people at arrival, speaking well English which is not a must, but very convenient. Great room. Super up to date, classy, clean, great bathroom with super tub. Great views. Aircon that works. Variation in breakfast, good breakfast. Only love! Oh, and the cats downstairs are really amazing to!!

We were warmly received by Kim once we arrived. She gave us a detailed briefing of food and activity options around the area. We were able to plan our activities based on her input. My family stayed in the catmily room. We loved the thoughtful details shown through the room decor. Mingling with the resident cats was also a highlight. The staff were proactive and considerate in preparing breakfast. They went out of their way to make a yummilious breakfast for my second daughter who isn't an adventurous eater.

Thoroughly enjoyed the stay! Rooms were clean and tastefully decorated. It is within walking distance, around 10-15min walk, to Sun Moon Lake and eateries. As mentioned by previous reviewers, this Minsu has 4 resident cats, so ideal for cat lovers! Most of the cats will leave you alone except for the youngest one - a little playful. Forgot to mention - breakfast was simply delicious!

Sun Moon Lake can be a busy place so this quiet, modern guest house, just five minutes walk from where the Sun-Moon-Lake Shuttle bus drops you off, is a real find. Stylish and understated, in our opinion it has to be one of the highest quality mid-price range places to stay in Sun Moon Lake. For nature lovers it's perfect as the location is right at the start of the nature trail leading up to the Tea Research Extention station and Weather Station. Warning: 1.5 km does not sound far but it is all uphill and you can go further than the Weather Station. Kim and Greg, the hosts, are extremely friendly and helpful and do their utmost to anticipate every need, for example, providing umbrellas, adapting breakfast to suit personal preferences and as we found the pillows hard and Kim got us different ones. Unless you have a cat allergy there is no reason not to stay here - even the three house cats made us very welcome.
