I highly recommend this hotel especially because if its location within walking distance to the pier, ropeway, market and bus stop. The breakfast is also a good bonus. Family rooms are comfortable and helpful staff.
We went with a group of family and young kids. The reception was an elderly uncle who consistently told us that if we need anything we come down to reception to look for him because they're insufficient of workers. Poor service. Once we checked into our room, we noticed the bathroom was so dirty and my room's toilet bowl had some urine stains which is so disgusting. Apart from that, the sink and bathtub are old and dirty. Breakfast is awful, not nice. The hotel has 7 floors but there is only 1 lift available. Not recommended unless you have a low budget for staying.
This hotel was at a good location - situated along the main road between Itathao Pier (where there is long stretch of eateries and a night market) and the Cable Car Station that gets you to the Formosan Aboriginal Cultural Village which are the main attractions at Sun Moon Lake. Ferry tickets and the Cable Car & Cultural Village tickets are MUCH cheaper here so make sure to get them from the counter. Breakfast was decent. Only possible complaint is that room was dusty.
Initially found the room pretty large and spacious but when checking out the balcony, found the glass sliding door is damage -- the door cannot be locked. Inform the front desk staff but only end up questioning me whether I want to check-out!! Felt very insecure......
The lady staff/owner was really courteous and helpful. My room with a partial view of the lake was changed last minute to a room with a view of the road but that was fine because the view of the lake would be obstructed by construction going on anyway especially if your room is at the lower levels. Nonetheless the room was clean and spacious. However the bathroom facilities seemed a bit old. Breakfast was mainly Taiwanese style with porridge and some side dishes. The hotel is all the way up the hill from the pier (was probably a 10-15 min walk); not an easy walk. If you are coming from Shuishe pier, do consider taking the bus instead of the boat, it may take slightly longer but there's less walking. That said, if your itinerary includes the Formosan aboriginal culture village, it's a convenient place to stay at as the hotel is just a 15 minute walk away from the cable car station. It is also situated near to the bus stop with buses that would go round the lake back to Shuishe pier.…
I guess everything is about lowering expectations. We were welcomed by the old man at the reception. His attitude was good.We booked a family room and I think we got the biggest room at the 7th floor. The lift is up to the 6th floor and had to walk up the stairs (not a big deal) looked like the 7th floor is an addition. The room was very clean. Floor was shiny. The great thing about this hotel is its location. It is a 5 minute walk from Sun Moon Lake (which is the main purpose why we went there). We got the boat ticket from the hotel at 1/3 of the original price. So, if you are planning to take a boat ride at the Sun Moon Lake, be sure to ask the old man at the reception. The breakfast is just alright. Again, it is about expectations. My overall rating of this property is Very Good because it served well it's purpose of giving us convenience in going to and from the Sun Moon Lake.…
I was born and educated in Taiwan but live in US now. So please note that those problems were not caused by miscommunication, since I speak both Mandarin and Taiwanese well. I visited Sun Moon Lake this summer and reserved this hotel based on the good reviews. When I called, they said they only had one room left, no lake view, but with window, cost NT$2200 for 2. They asked me to pay extra NT$500 for adding a bed for my son. I wired half of the money as deposit. When I checked in, they asked me to pay first. Then gave me the room key, told me it was on first floor. I found the elevator went down after I pressed "1", and the first floor was actually in basement. The room was small. The only window was facing a concrete wall. For the extra NT$500, we got a pad with pillow and sheet on the dirty floor. It was Saturday night, every hotel was full. So we had no choice but stayed. Soon we found the room was full of mosquitoes. I went to front desk. They lent me an electricity mosquito racket. I had to stand on the bed to kill mosquitoes, so I saw how filthy the top of the shelf was (probably never got cleaned?) Of course, we got bitten badly and couldn't sleep whole night. I was very upset and complained to the manager next morning. I even put all the 23 mosquitoes I killed on a tissue to show him when I checked out. He smiled all the way when I spoke. I told him they shouldn't have put customers in a room like this, and it was so dirty like never been cleaned. He said he would remind their housekeepers to be more careful, and then he told me they rent the room out everyday (implied that it was my own problem?). Taiwan is my native country. 99% of Taiwanese are very kind. I hope after I share my terrible experience here, no one would fall into their scam again.…
Location by the lake, easy access to boat pier and bus station. Room was very comfortable. WiFi is working at the lobby(Ask PIN). 宿の立地が静かで良い場所です。部屋のインテリアにもこだわっていて、とても素敵な宿でした!
Stayed for 1 night. It is in a convenient place, being near to the streets where the buzz is - food stalls, tea shops, the boarding/ alighting point for lake cruise. Room wise, it's in an average condition with nice decor. What is most disappointing is the bathroom/ toilet, where we found a strand of hair (cleaner did not do a thorough job?), flimsy shower screen door, shower head with peeling surface (sign of age), weak toilet bowl flushing system that is barely able to perform its function. Breakfast offered is simple fare typical of other small hotels but quite adequate. Conclusion: I would not stay here again.
the location is near bus stop and not far from market and pier. the lake-view room can only see lake with particular location but that is still good. lower room will be blocked by constructing building just next door even that room is announced as lake-view.
