Detailed Reviews
We appreciate the good friendly service of staff. They offered to help is call taxi without us asking. The hotel food restaurant La Fiesta on the 2nd floor is good for dinner and appreciate the proactiveness of the staff there. The room is very comfortable amd it is great I can plug my computer to the hotel tv monitor to work, using a hdmi cable.
There was not much selection of room servic food menu and I did find the wifi service connection to be a bit intermittent sometimes but otherwise everything else was very good.

Here again for a week and although the Coronavirus is a huge problem in China, Taiwan is taking all reasonable precautions including the staff here measuring temperature of our heads every time we come back to the hotel. Not many guests here but the service is still great, breakfast still offering a full range of food. One problem for me is unlike hotels all over the world I have to supply my own tea (English breakfast) allergic to coffee and don’t really enjoy red tea. The staff are kind enough to supply a cup and saucer with hot water pity there is no milk jug.
A very minor point compared to the high standards including room, cleanliness and friendliness of all the staff. Left Sherwood to come here a couple of years ago where the staff seem up themselves (arrogant).
The location here is perfect, a short walk from the metro, over the road from a shopping centre and supermarket plus numerous cafes and restaurants. Happy to be back to our second home in Taiwan after a long trip from UK.

I am a frequent business traveler. Because I fly frequently, I get tired easily after getting off the plane, so I naturally have high requirements for hotel accommodation. We usually select hotels on several continents for our regular stays. They must meet the requirements of good service, concierge reception and service, comfortable mattresses, clean and tidy rooms, cleaning, paying attention to service details, respecting the privacy of guests, and answering phone calls quickly. These are the requirements for a hotel. The most basic conditions for accommodation. Others, such as in-room service, hygienic details of pushing the dining cart into the room and the etiquette of service staff, as well as welcome gifts and RV transfers, are of course one of the criteria for testing a good hotel. If the hotel also has a Michelin restaurant, a rich selection of breakfast buffets, a personal butler, a spa and fitness club, etc., that would be perfect.
I saw this five-star hotel, Victoria Hotel, on the booking app. I have heard of its name before, but for independently run hotels in Taiwan, I have always been hesitant about whether its management and cleanliness are adequate. So I only dared to book 2 nights to give it a try.
To my surprise, this hotel's outstanding performance, from the check-in counter to the room rest, fully meets my high standards for hotels, making me feel like my favorite hotel, Lesches Hotel in Paris and Top hotel services at the Mandarin Oriental. The service staff at Victoria Hotel provide cordial reception and service with warmth from the heart. They do not have the wax-like smiles of ordinary hotel service staff, but are more like the easy-going and warmth of family members. The size of the guest room is already 1/3-2/1 of the extra space of many hotel rooms. The room does not have the strange smell of some old 5-star hotels in Taipei. The decoration design is very good, the color scheme is comfortable, and it has a fresh smell. The bathroom is very clean, so clean that I dared to take a bath in the bathtub. The breakfast is also very rich, it would be perfect if there were more choices. Its steak meal is one of the best in Taipei. The service of the concierge staff is reassuring. The service staff throughout the hotel always have sunny and happy smiles, and even the cleaning staff have cheerful smiles and are very polite. With such a level of international top-notch service, I decided to extend my stay for the remaining two weeks of my visit to Taiwan on the first day. When entering and exiting the hotel every day, the hotel front desk and concierge staff would honor me by my last name. I only remember the concierge at Taipei Yadu Hotel doing this more than 30 years ago.
It has a moderate location and convenient transportation.
Because Victoria Hotel is so outstanding, I am willing to spend time writing details to praise their impeccable service. It truly earned my respect for independently owned Taiwanese hotels.

Got back from a 1.5 week business trip. Overall a very pleasant stay. The room is clean and modern and the service is good. A short walk to subway station and next to a big department store with plenty of restaurants. It's not as fancy (and expensive) as the nearby Marriott or other 5 star hotels in Taipei but it's a very good choice for business travelers.
Breakfast is good, similar to what you'll find in a typical 4-5 star hotels in Taipei. But I think NT$700 (about $23) is a little over-priced according to local standard (still much better than most 5-star hotels in US). Will be nice if they hire more waiters/waitresses to refill your coffee/tea. Perhaps they just got out of pandemic so still somewhat understaffed.
If you don't want to pay a premium to stay at the international hotel chains (e.g., Marriott...), this is a very good choice.

Staying for 3 nights on business. Happy to arrange a last minute airport transfer. Nice welcome on arrival and room of ample size which was very clean. Breakfast excellent. I also used the laundry service which also met expectations with everything cleaned and delivered back to my room in the specified time. Will definitely visit again.
Why not 5 stars? Bill was not correct at departure but all in, a great stay.

We arrived at the reception who handled the formalities efficiently yet gave us a warm welcome. A porter took us to our room which was spacious, very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was superb there was a tv in the wall so could watch it while having a bath. The bed was really comfortable and the pillows and bedding were of a high quality.
We booked breakfast and this was a good decision. The variety included Western delights, the Asian section was obviously bigger. Again we were struck by the efficiency of the staff, food at the buffet was quickly replaced and if we needed anything the waiters and waitresses were only to pleased to assist and at speed. The service could not be faulted.
Our stay really couldn’t be improved on . Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer. However. We shall return after a couple of months. I would like to add that this hotel is not expensive. Fantastic value for money.
Our sincere thanks to all the staff at the Grand Victoria without exception.

Stayed in this hotel a couple of times and loved it each time. The rooms are quiet, clean and very spacious. The bathroom is spacious and comes with both shower and bathtub. Housekeeping was great at cleaning the rooms during all of my stays. Moreover, this hotel has two really good restaurants. Expect the breakfast buffet to be curated and well cooked. The only rooms for improvement that I would like to suggest are to train the staff to walk slowly in the restaurant during the breakfast, instead of running up and down, creating a bit of stressful environment, Could also offer some more western cheeses and artisan bread. The Italian restaurant is great. Unfortunately, have not had the chance to try their steak restaurant yet.

The Grand Victoria Hotel is not the most expensive hotel in Taipei, but it is one of the best. Service and rooms are excellent. Apart from the usual things on finds in up-market hotels, it also has a number of excellent restaurants, including No. 168 Prime Steakhouse, said to be the best steakhouses in the city.

The staffs are friendly and helpful, they assist with what I need and answered my questions promptly. The room is clean and spacious. Tea, coffee, snacks and water are served everyday. Location is good too, a mall is right next to the hotel, also only 3 minutes walking to MRT station. We enjoyed our stay here!

Awesome experience. The location was really good for me as a first time Taipei visitor. The subway station is a quick 5 minute walk from the property. I booked the property with the intention of swimming, but the outdoor pool was closed for the season. I wasn't aware of what to expect with the local climate I guess. The buffet breakfast was very good. The room was very spacious and relaxing when I was at the hotel resting from my touring. I would definitely book this again if I come back to Taipei.
