The hotel is in a great location. Unfortunately, the place is not well maintained: room had stained carpet that was bunching up; windows were not sound-proofed so the traffic noise even though I was on a top floor was loud, woke we up a couple times; the gym was fairly small w minimal equipment, no weights. And the restaurant, back lobby area and business center were all closed, apparently due to lack of staffing. So the place has almost no amenities.

Second time staying here.

Location is great, along the main road, few minutes walk to Zhongshan Station, where there's a underground shopping link to Taipei Main Station.

Plenty of Japanese and local eateries, hotpot, K bbq and fast food joints nearby. Pharmacies, convenient stores and a huge department store are also in the area.

Room is spacious, clean and comfortable, bathroom is big. Deco may look dated but it's well maintained. Staff are courteous and helpful, which made our stay a pleasant one.

A good place to stay.

Very practical hotel, price is reasonable, location is perfect! All their were very helpful and efficient. Especially when assisting us in booking taxis or airport shuttle.
The hotel is quite old, but the rooms are big. On the website it says 2 queen beds, but in reality there were 2 king sized beds. Perfect for family.
We will definitely book the same hotel next time to go to Taiwan. Highly recommended.

The neighborhood is good for foodies and walking about Taipei. We were just far enough from TaiPei Arena to make a good afternoon walk. Not far from the Taipei Main Station, but probably worth the taxi ride if you have bags. Nearest MRT is a few blocks on either side. Room was pretty sizeable with a sofa/chair included.

Just came back from Taipei and stayed at this hotel for 10 days. The hotel was just opened in 2003 so all facilities are brand new. The hotel is located at a very busy section of Taipei with easy access to everything. There are two small parks directly across the street and tons of restaurants within walking distance. We stayed in a room with two twin beds - the room is a bit small for two tall guys like us but very clean and contemporary otherwise. Breakfast is included in the price and the selection is excellent. High speed internet is also available in all rooms (which is a common feature for most business hotels in Taipei). Hotel staff is pilite and curteous. The only drawback for us is the lack of a bathtub, but the HUGE shower area makes up the difference. I know other rooms in the hotel are equipped with both shower and tub but you would pay a higher price to request it. The other minor problem is the in-room heating didn't seem to work properly but it didn't bother us too much. The price listed on the hotel's website is HIGH but you'll get a big discount if you call them directly. Overall, we had a very pleasant experience at this hotel and would consider going back. There are similar hotels around the same areas with cheaper price but I guess you pay a higher price for a prime location as well as the four-star hotel atmosphere.

Taipei International's best feature are the rooms. Big, spacious rooms that come close to any of the top hotels in Taipei for a very reasonable price. It's a good alternative to the Landis or other four star hotels and slightly less expensive. Located next to Linsen N. Road, so it's good for nightlife, especially if you happen to be into massages and Japanese food. Service there is nothing special, but certainly not bad either. The only down side to this hotel is that breakfast is lousy, and if you get there a bit later almost inedible. Pretty inexcusable for a hotel that's 4 stars in other areas. But if you don't mind a lesser breakfast and the room is the main thing for you, it's a great option.

I stayed at this hotel in a 12-day range in Jan 2005. I went traveling on 2 short 2-day trips within that timeframe, and the hotel reception staff were always pleasent enough to hand on to the rest of our luggage until we returned.

The room with the King bed was nicely furnished, and our room had a shower with 5 nozzles, as well as a full-sized tub. The only drawback was that the room was a little small, but hey, it's Asia.

I can't say enough about the location, and you literally have restaurants at your doorstep. You have a nice quaint Japanese district across the street, with great Japanese cuisine. The subway station is only a 5 minute walk away too.

In all, a great place to stay, and I'll make it a point to stay there again if I'm ever in Taipei.

This hotel was a good hotel to stay in Taipei. It has a central location, comfy beds and the service is also good. The only con I can think of is there is no room service but the location has quite a few choices nearby so not really a problem. The breakfast is average but we did go to some very good bakeries which had lots of delicious things to choose from.

My family stayed at this place for ~3 weeks, with 6 days break in between. (Concierge desk was very kind to let us leave some stuffs at their storage while we were away.)

Hotel staffs are always very cheerful and helpful, even at 1am or 5am in the morning. (jet lag :) ) Inside the hotel, there are two restaurants: one Chinese (Cantonese) style and one western style (steak, pasta, cheesecake, etc).

The free breakfast buffet has everything for everyone, even the kids look forward to it each morning. A few mornings, we went out for fried noodle sticks and soy milk. It's so nice to have so many choice around us.

A few afternoons, we came back for the afternoon tea. Since, our hotel is adjacent to several big department stores, underground shopping center and other attractions, the short break was really refreshing.

The house's special Peking Duck dish is to die for, you should definitely reserve one for dinner. We only sampled a few other dishes from banquet menu, and they are all excellent. Make sure to check with the staffs for the daily specials, since they change daily and sometimes they might not even have any.

Hotel's business center is well stocked. It might comes handy.

Our room is huge compare to some other places that we have stayed before. All of the lights, AC, TV, network, etc are computer activated/controlled. I thought that was pretty "green". Bathroom has all of the toiletry kit. We have both tube and shower. In the shower, there was even massage shower heads. Kids had tones of fun with that. :)

The only complaint that we might have is the cable TV reception. Some channels are not clear sometimes.

The network speed in the room was very swift.

Hotel is about 5min walk from Metro (subway). There are over a dozen of buses stopped right in front of the hotel. It's about 5min taxi ride (or 5min walk and 2min subway ride) from the main train station.

We were able to get around most of the time using Metro and buses. Make sure you buy a metro pass, it's accepted at tones of places. You can recharge the pass at most of the the convenience stores. However, with the abundant of taxicabs, that's a good alternative. Most of the cab drivers don't speak English; however, you can probably ask the hotel staffs to writeup an direction for you.

We stayed at this hotel twice during our Taipei trip as we went to tour other parts of Taiwan in between.

During our first stay, the room was nicely appointed and spotless so we had no complains. Only grouse was that they did not have wireless Internet.

Problems only surfaced when we returned for our second stay. We asked for a non smoking room but the room was full of smoke odor. We also faced a problem with the air conditioning which we informed the staff but nothing was done about it.

Location of the hotel is close to the shopping area but the train station is a good 10 minutes walk away. Breakfast was unappetizing and lacked variety.

This is my third trip to Taipei and I would not recommend this hotel for the overall location and value. I personally prefer to stay near Taipei main station or Xi Men Ding and there are many better hotels in that area at a better value.
