Cleaver use of space. It is very small tight space. My daughter and I chose a bunk bed. We both have personal space to place our suitcase and personal items. Clean space with communal bathroom separated by gender. Location is perfect and close train and night market. We love the energy in the neighborhood. Don't forget to indulge in the Street Food! They are better than restaurant meals. It is definitely money well spend!
I paid for three nights here; a last-minute change to my travel itinerary meant I missed the first night. It was my fault that I forgot to notify them, I completely understand that. But Inn Cube not only never reached out to me to confirm/check, but they gave up my room for the other two nights, even after I wrote to them ASAP that I was coming in. Their responses were unhelpful, disrespectful, and repeatedly centered on the payment being "nonrefundable" (even after I told them I didn't mind paying the first night, I just wanted a room to sleep in!) Unbelievable, do NOT stay here. Terrible customer service.
Everything was fine UNTIL one day I returned back to my room and saw that they got and kept all of my things because according to them I didn't extend my booking on that day. They personally packed all my stuff, and jam packed it in my luggage. Ended up breaking my FAVORITE sunglasses!!! I didn't rant anymore because I feel like it would be pretty much useless due to the language barrier! If only I spoke fluent Mandarin or they spoke english well then I really would've lashed out. So, I showed them my printed itinerary and turns out they confused me for another guest. Wow. Okay.
The hostel doesn't look like much from the outside - it occupies the top floor of a building which has other businesses, restaurants and hotels. The people at the front desk were very helpful and friendly and the whole place had a calm, peaceful atmosphere. However, there are no double rooms, so my boyfriend and I had bunk beds and the rest of the space in the room was occupied by our luggage as it was a very small space. It was a little claustrophobic due to the fact that it had no window. The lock on our room was broken, and whilst it was cool that the washing machines are outside on the roof in central Taipei, half of the machines were broken. Additionally, there were some ants in the showers but other than that it was a clean place. However it is in a really convenient location, right next door exit M8 of Taipei main station and a 7-11. Overall, it is convenient and an okay stay for a traveller on a budget but you could find a really nice boutique hotel for not much more.…
I would actually rate the inn cube at 3.5 *. It is a great location, right at the M8 entrance. When you take the escalator up from M8,the buildig in right in front. The Inn Cube is on the 10th and 11th floor (elevator only goes up to the 10th floor). I believe they have a 24 hour desk which is very helpful and enhances security. When you check in you receive a card key (to access the floor) attached to an actual key, which is an old style lock to your room. I was on the 11th floor, which has 9 room, but only one common toilet. In addition, there is a men's washroom (with 1 shower and 1 urinal) and a women's washroom. Despite limited number of toilets/showers, there was never a problem in getting access (perhaps they were not full). The shower pressure fluctuated between moderate and weak. The 11th floor also had a few laundry machines.. The rooms were OK, clean but on the small. There was a desk and chair in the room. The wifi signal was strong. There was no daily service, although you could exchange towels on a daily basis. Overall, it is an very good place to stay, especially so close to the main station.…
