Four of us stayed at the Farm from 18-19 Mar 2013.
The room and breakfast were average. Dinner, which is quite healthy and tasty, can be arranged at 200NT per head. It included bamboo and Ashitabe dishes.
What we love about the Farm is the outdoor environment.
Right behind the Farm is a mountain of tall trees(see photos), where we would walk around to enjoy the very fresh air and to hear the birds chirping. We felt relaxed and in harmony with nature!
Many medicinal plants are grown around the Farm. After dinner, educational tour was provided to have a better understanding of the surrounding plants and living things.
We saw frogs and the fireflies!
Thereafter, there was hands-on activities to make moichi and awkeotsang jelly.
To reach the Farm, we made our way to Shizuo from Chiayi via public bus. It took about 1.5 hr. Upon reaching Shizuo, we called the Farm (coin phone is available) and a staff came to pick us. It was only a 10 mins drive to the Farm. To visit Alishan, the Farm fetched us to and from Shizuo, where we took a public bus to Alishan. Pretty convenient, except that the bus up Alishan has its starting point from Chiayi and by the time it reaches Shizuo, there might not be seats. We stood all the way (about 1.5 hr) up Alishan from Shizuo.
If you wish to have a relaxing and slow holiday, this is the place!
We would gladly recommend the Farm to friends.

Me and my family stayed at this B&B in Nov 2013. We did not expect much at the beginning as we thought that this is just a rest stop for our continuation trip to Alishan. Alishan is really a disastrous point of our vacation but that is another story.

Anyway, we arrived around 5:00pm at the B&B and the sky is turning dark. Upon checking in, the host knocked on our door and asked us to gather to witness the sunset and "cloud of sea" at their farm. We reluctantly followed her because it was cold and we were tired after a long ride. However, it turned out that the sight is amazing and we said to ourselves that we are lucky to follow her as it was just a 3 minute walk and we saw the most beautiful sunset. After the sunset, she asked us to take a rest and shower and dinner will be served.

Dinner was good. We had 5 dishes and a soup and fruits. After dinner, she said there are some more activities in the night and asked us to gather around at around 8:00pm. She showed us some of the herbs that were planted in the farm and explained to us on their medical values. We followed her and had a walked in the dark (without any light and flash lights are not allowed) to the forest to see winter fireflies. It was an amazing experience.

After the night forest trekking, the host then prepared glutinous rice and the traditional pounding equipment for us to feel the making of muaci (Taiwan aboriginal traditional food). We had a great time interacting with other group of tourists and experiencing the making of muaci. It was a group effort and everybody enjoyed it.

We had a good night sleep and wake up fresh the next day. The owner of the B&B was already sitting in the main building boiling water and preparing tea for those who wake up early. he invited us to sit with him and enjoy the morning hot tea. Apparently he is one of the aboriginal tribe in taiwan who got taken prisoner by the Japanese during WW2 because of his knowledge in traditional herbs. the Japs need people like him to take care of the soldiers while fighting in the jungle. He has a lot of stories to share if you have the time to sit with him.

We regretted to spend so little time at this farm as there are more morning activities going on when we left such as jogging in the woods and farming.

It was a great place and hidden in the woods. Not many people know about this place, not even the local bus driver.

Spent one night here on a trip round Taiwan. Arrived at 7:30 in the evening but no food to be had. Breakfast not very good, you need to arrive promptly otherwise it’s almost gone.
Rooms spacious and clean.
WiFi very good everywhere.
Good value for a short stay.
Amazing walks in the forest from the accommodation. Blossom fabulous all around.
Gardens have lots of lovely veg and plants growing.

Excellent stay in Long Yun Leisure Farm. We booked directly on their web site for a family of 4 room. When we got to Taiwan, used Line to communicate with them on pick up from Fenqihu train station & they were very responsive via Line. During stay, they offer free transport to Shizhuo so that we can take bus up to the Alishan Recreation Area. The room is spacious & view is fantastic (we book room 511 & they gave us 521). We were also lucky that there was a tour group during our stay & we got to join in the mochi making session & night forest walk for fireflies as free programme. The room price was inclusive of breakfast & dinner so it was value for money. Best part was the friendly staff. We had an unexpected transport arrangement for check-out and one of the staff (a young man who is part of the farm management's family) was very helpful to help us find a viable bus route down the hill (infor on a bus from Fenqihu in the morning which was not available from google web) & drove us to Fenqihu to board the bus. Really appreciate his help. And the farm never ever ask us write any review for their good service. If we were to visit Alishan again, we will definitely stay there again!

Stayed here for one night in a tiny room foe 3 pax. Not much walking space. and a small 3-in -1 toilet It is not a farm, only have 3 chicken and a dog. If you like to see animal farm, this is the wrong place. Better go Cingjing Veteran farms.

I fell in love with this place after my 1st visit 2 years ago. My 2nd visit I brought my friends along and the most recent visit I brought my family. It's a place for people who want to get away and just take things easy. I love the hospitality of the Deng's family, especially Senior Mr deng who treats guests with organic tea. I love their latest rooms with glass walls and window that allows you to view the starry night (only a few rooms with this). The only thing I don't like is the traditional breakfast. But the dinner is healthful and gd. It's a place I will visit again to escape my hectic lifestyle.

Was here on a package tour and fell in love with the serenity n clean fresh air when we reached. The staff are very nice n friendly too.

After dinner, we had a traditional mochi session... Fun to have everyone joining in to get the glutinous rice to the right consistency to make it into mochi.

After that, the staff brought us on a walk to the jungle in search of fireflies but pity the moon was very bright so we could only see one.

For those with families n want a relaxing time, this is a good place to chill out. Can go to visit Alishan park and then drive down to the farm for an overnight stay.

We were on a private tour and the agent highly recommended this place. Despite my initial reservations after reading some comments and seeing photos of the room online, I decided to give it a chance for the experience.

We arrived late around 6pm and was told to have dinner first. Dinner was acceptable, it was simple and homely. There was a mid size tour group there at the same time and we all ate together in the common dining area. We had our own table for my family.

After dinner we were given our room key. There are no porters and no one will help you with your luggage. Our driver helped us lag our luggage up the slope to our rooms. Hint: travel light if staying here.

The room: At first sight the room looks clean and simple. The owners had taken the effort to build modern toilets and provided a portable heater, room slippers, towels and basic toiletries. Unfortunately, the toilet floor and toilet bowl was wet even before we used it. The room slippers are worn out and obviously reused. There are spider webs in the room. The toilet was the biggest problem. Creepy small cockroach looking insects coming out from the drain pipe. The toilet bowl stinks even after flushing. Very Poor drainage and i suspect because our room was on the lower floor it made matters worst!

Activities: Well done in this area! After dinner there was a Muah Chee making activity and everyone present had a chance to pound the Muah Chee. The host was entertaining and we ate the Muah Chee that was made. This was followed by a walk into the forest to spot fireflies. A safe and fun walk for all in the dark. We managed to see some fireflies. Best to keep quiet as the fireflies would not appear when they sense people around.

Overall we didn't like the room but we enjoyed the activities. I wouldn't stay here again. We cut short our 2 nights stay here to 1 night.

If you are not too particular about lodging, this place may be suitable to enjoy the view and beautiful starry night. Great place for star grazing.

If you are inclined towards the very basic and I mean basic, stay here. The surroundings are lovely and the giant windows looking out at all the greenery, the mountains is lovely. The room is large and also the most uncomfortable room I have ever stayed in. Absolutely no toiletries in the bathroom, awful bed and I have never seen sheets or comforters that actually make you colder in bed than out of it. 7 degrees C and it was the worst night ever. Very nice staff but unless you have people with you who speak Chinese, it is a problem.

Long Yun (one of the six Muslim friendly resort farms) Leisure Farm offers free shuttle service from the nearest train station. Pre-arrangement is required.
If the weather is good, you can have the best sunset view over the mountains. If the weather is bad, you feel like you have just enter a fairy land (see photo).

Our room was located on the first floor of the newly built chalet. The room was so spacious, it can easily accommodate six persons. The bathroom is clean with toiletries. It wasn't like other contributors' comments of wet floor and insects crawling. We were pretty lucky then.

No porter service! You just need drag your luggage up the slope. So travel light. haha~ no wifi in the room. Wifi is only available at the reception area. It was good to put work aside and put the phone to rest, at least for one night.
If you are sensitive with water flowing noise, you may ask for room further away from the pipe. I was quite comfortable with the water flowing sound, and had a good sleep indeed.

Meals were aplenty and the vegetables were plucked from the farm fresh. No need to go far for organic vegetables. The Tom Yam soup was delicious!

After dinner, we joined in the night activities like making of Mochi (local favourite), a short walk into the forest to see the fireflies, fungus glow in dark, flying fox leaping from a tree to another. An experience should not missed!

The owner Mr Teng is entertaining and has a good sense of humour. During the morning walk, he led us and showed us the plant we had previous night.

Personally I would prefer this place than other leisure farms around this area.
