Yes, I read the reviews AFTER booking the hotel but it really wasn’t that bad! Especially, if you don’t plan on staying inside all day. Yes, the rooms are small and it was like playing a fun game of Tetris to get to our luggage, open it, and pack it away (was expecting that based on the previous reviews) BUT the bed is big and comfy! The location is FANTASTIC. This hotel is close to so many restaurants bars we didn’t take the metro at all and walked most places. There is a mini bar with tea, coffee, Coca-Cola, water, and gummi bears that was replenished every day. The staff: a friendly front desk person helped us with a late check out. There is a rooftop bar with a nice view of Taipei 101. We were in Taipei during pride weekend so a bunch of hotels were booked up well in advance. Not sure if I would book again if I had other options but if we did would spring for the bigger room. …
I have stayed here because of Babarpapa themes special event. The room quite small to compare with price 3600NT /night but for Babarpapa decorate and complementary is reasonable. The hotel can walk to Trian Station and near by shopping mall and restaurants.
The hotel is so funky. The red building, underthe sea designed lobby with Cafe attached, red velvet speakeasy style bar on level 2, rooftop view and bar. The room was small but had a decent bathroom and separate toilet with great amenities. Portable hair-dryer which I love! The mini bar which had water and coke was free and cute little candy bags too in my coffee draws. This is where the compliments end. Staff were all terrible. For a modern, chic hotel that targets young and cool; the receptionist had below average English and the barman could not understand payment of my bill. To make matters worse, I prepaid for a NT400 afternoon tea. When I checked into the room I had specifically placed on my bed side table a afternoon tea menu with desserts, savoury items and including drinks. When I went to the Cafe the receptionist told me the menu in my room was not what I'd paid for. They gave me a measly tea of my choice and a slice of cake and told me this is what I'd spent NT$400 on. They had the audacity to give me the Cafe menu as well which had main meals of risotto the same price as my slice of cake. I felt ripped off! I couldn't even speak to the staff to raise my disappointment. If you appreciate great service, I do not recommend. The room and facilities are great though. …
The staff was pretty unpleasant to deal with and they were very weird about letting us sit in the lobby area, which is also a restaurant I guess? We tried a couple times and they kept telling us it's "reserved" even when it was completely empty. Newsflash guys: the hotel lobby should be all about your hotel guests' convenience first! Rooms are small and pretty inconvenient, weird layouts for some things - like the only power outlet is in the corner by the window on the floor. Tiny safety box, can't fit a laptop. Otherwise it's clean etc. but would not stay here again.
If you’re a traveler looking to spend more time out than in, then this is perfect! Pois pois is close to everything, close to food, close to those jap style sake/ Beer + skewers places. It’s only 2 streets away from 東區(dongqu)shops ( ladies, this is your fashion area). It’s nOt fair from Omni if you want a nearby club. About a 7 minute wall to the 敦化(Dunhua)Metro station . It’s also fairly quiet . Surprisingly quiet considering it’s actually facing the freeway. Bathroom status: clean. Small space though. Amenities ( they will replenish) : Standard personal care items ( shampoo, conditioner etc. slippers provided Illy coffee machine. ( I squealed with delight when I saw it because I didn’t think I’d get any quality stuff for the price I was paying) Everything in mini bar and small fridge is free ( gummy bears !) Only problem is missing a full length mirror, I don’t know what that random chair is for...…
