éclat (noun) Definition: 1: ostentatious display : PUBLICITY 2: dazzling effect : BRILLIANCE 3a: brilliant or conspicuous success b: PRAISE, APPLAUSE I had to look up what the word "eclat" means, and boy does this property live up to its namesake. Since returning to Taiwan as visiting expats in December 2020, we have already stayed here twice (2+3 nights) and booked another stay for later this week. That should tell you how much we like this place. I've stayed in 8 hotels in the past month, and Eclat is hands down the most well-run and most comfortable. Thanks to the relationship between Hyatt and SLH, we were upgraded to a premier room on the first stay and the (almost) flagship premier 9 room on the second. Fingers crossed for a three-peat =) We could tell the managers/owners take pride in their property from all the little things: from the owner's personal art exhibit in the lobby, the Dyson hairdryers, the Mont Blanc pens, the state-of-the-art heated bidet toilet seat, ample choice of soft/hard/gel pillows, all the way to placing exactly 9 sets of towels and 9 bottles of water in the "premier 9" room. Water pressure is consistently strong, and there's 3 types of shower heads to choose from - extra fun to have all 3 on simultaneously! The staff are well-trained, polite, and have an OCD-like persistence for opening doors for exiting guests. Shout out to Milton and Claire for their hospitality! Unlike the numerous wannabe-western places in Taiwan that set you up for disappointment, Eclat knows what it's doing and executes modern-yet-classy to perfection. If there is one thing I hope they can improve on, it'd be to partner with a local gym. I am spoiled.…
rooms nice. no extra bedding for child, internet not working, not fixed, when you call guest services they never ever answer...never. its as if there is no one working here to take care of customers. 2 hours later no internet. i recommend stay at another hotel in Taipei. i have stayed 120 nights in hotels in Taipei over the last 6 months and this is absolutely the worst. opened drawer and front fell off.
Service was horrible , the front desk manager Darrel was quite rude , I had 3 nights booking that I had to amend to 1 night booking due to emergency and I was told it’s best to cancel my booking than checking in, at the reception of the hotel, very unwelcoming and won’t be booking again with them.
The room is excellent. Good location. There are plenty of nice restaurants in the neighborhood. The staffs are friendly. We had great time here. Just one little thing. The weather was cold outside, but the A/C can’t adjust the room temperature up. Luckily the bed was warm enough:)
So I spent one night at Éclat by starting with their afternoon tea in the lobby. We were hosted by Leo and he was kind to me and my family. I stayed at the Premier 9 Room and the details in the room were fantastic and exactly just like what they advertised. It's also remarkable that they have 6 pillows and two of them are the firm kind that I'm used to (I've been in other 5-star hotel that you need to request them specifically or some of them don't even have that). That helped me had a great sleep and it's also a very quiet location that I didn't hear any noise from the street!
