Very friendly housekeeping, front desk staff and most of the breakfast staff (2 completely ignored us one of the days). The housekeeping didn’t even take the tip left for them (maybe cuz it wasn’t obvious?) and found my passport, drivers license and credit cards in the safe after checkout. Kevin and Lana immediately reached out and sent an email and thankfully I was in the area (to come pickup our stored luggage) or otherwise I would’ve missed my flight. The hotel itself is very nice. Great shower with 3 shower heads, toto bidet, 3-5 water bottles and 3 nespresso pods restocked everyday. Was able to request memory foam pillows. Does not have a gym or pool. However the location in Da’an is very nice and filled with lots of bars and good eateries. Breakfast is decent and I noticed people come for their afternoon tea or their Italian restaurant fpr dinner. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Taiwan! Thank you to Hotel Eclat for a wonderful stay!!

My second stay at eclat. This time staying only for 2nights. I got a room on the 10th floor which was great. Room was quiet and everything else was perfect. I had trouble using my key card twice. Lady on dayshift at the front desk and Dean were both super helpful and sweet! Thank you very much! Looking forward to coming back for my next Taipei trip.

We were informed that the access to the hotel parking lot is restricted during 10:00pm and 7:00am. However, I had to leave for the airport around 6:20 am. My friend and I couldn’t find a street parking spot available nearby the hotel after 8:00 pm the night before. Dean went above and beyond to help check the availability around the hotel consistently and notified us right away when he saw one. I’m not used to stand inside the parking space while waiting for my friend to come and take the spot. Dean also helped communicate with the driver who was also interested in the same parking spot and directed him to the next available space nearby. Dean is extremely kind, helpful and funny. He makes me feel cared and validated. Unlike other mixed feelings and experiences I had encountered during my 5 night stay with other front desk staff on duty, Dean easily stands out among other peers. Bravo and thank you for your service!

I was staying at Hotel Eclat for a week mostly for work but also wanted to see the sights while I was there. The hotel is perfect for first time visitors. It's conveniently located about 15 minutes walk from Taipei 101, right next to a MRT station, but also not far from a lot of the night markets. There's some great restaurants around and the breakfast buffet is solid. It's also good for business. The desk is big and comfortable, so is the chair. They have drinks available for free in the minibar which makes things easier too. But the best thing about this place is the service. John and his team (special shout out to Chris) went above and beyond to help me enjoy my time and make the most of my visit. They helped me book restaurants, book a massage, and general tourist advice. I have never experienced such warmth and hospitality from a hotel. Sincerely grateful to have stayed in such a great hotel.

This is the small hotel with 5 stars quality. Limousines service made it very convenient to and from airport. Room was well cleaned and the bed was made everyday during my 9 days of stay. Hotel staff were polite, friendly and very helpful. The mini bar in the room was free and refilled everyday for me. Amy Yu, the manager was friendly and helpful; even helped me finding the gift for my best friend. The food at their restaurant was excellent and I recommend to try it. Good location to all attractions places. I will be returning to Taipei to meet my best friend in November in 2023 and I will be definitely staying at the hotel of E’clat again. Andrew

This is a boutique hotel locate south side of Da’an that’s away from metro (15min) and mayor stores and restaurant . If you traveling with family this is not the place. Upon check in no one able to help with luggage , they were clearly short staffed .Room is well equipped with Dyson dryer , B&O system but has tinny space shower and no bathtub. The so call Grand room is not grand. When I asked for bathtub room they said is $150 extra and they are small hotel anyway( mean no tub is normal) Housekeeping will not clean your plates or used cups. The AC was broken and was called to repaired but nothing got done or called back to explained ; it was making me sick. I had a package arrived sitting for 3 days and they never called me to confirmed receipt . The door makes a busting sound as if someone try to break in, when ever your Neigbore open or closed door, I got waken up few time at night because of the sounds. The breakfast is limited all you can eat buffet style . Although they “claim” bread is freshly made and eggs are made when order , this is a tinny lounge with 1 person running the show. Gets irritated to wait for your coffee, eggs and bread though one person and usually you are full by the time food are there. ( yeah don’t expect refill on your coffe) This prob the first time I do not agree with my fellow TA reviewers. This is not a luxury 4 star hotel. It is missing the personal service level and attentions needed . Adding Dyson dryer, Mont Blanc pen or highend sohnd systems doesn’t make you a luxury hotel. The modern decor can fool tourist on picture but you need to do more to make them come back. We left early and check in other hotel . This places was missing all the key factor in location and service level that we are looking for in this price tag. Sorry but definite not my choice in Taipei ( I stayed over 20+ hotels in TPE from 5 Star hotel/Villa to 2 Star motels)

Positives: * Professional and courteous attitude by the entire team * Clean lobby * A portable heater was available in the room Negatives/Issues: 1. Cold shower throughout the entire six-night stay - raised this issue on first day, they promised to fix it, but did not. Raised again daily since Day 2 until Day 6, they again promised to fix it but never did. They finally told me on Day 6 (the night before check-out) that the hot shower temperature issue is unfixable. Their lack of transparency and procrastination on issues are concerning and ineffective in creating customer satisfaction. Why waited until Day 6 to share that they couldn't fix it? 2. VIP package did not get fully honored until Day 4 which includes these elements: a. Free room upgrade - the hotel did not want to provide room upgrade until Day 4, 5, 6, and 7. First three nights on Day 1, 2, and 3 did not get a room upgrade. b. Welcome drink one person per day - originally, they only agreed to offer one drink during the entire stay. I had to fight for it and provided VIP package proof, then they agreed to provide one free drink per day. c. 20% off for one meal during the entire stay - no issue because I chose not to use it. d. Early check-in and late check-out - this they did honor. Issues 1 & 2a are main issues. These are reasonable expectations and included in my purchased price, but they failed to deliver and honor the entire package. Worse yet, when I asked for a written document summarizing my stay, they 1. distorted the truth saying "I preferred a certain room type" making it sound like they were doing me a favor by accommodating my preference; when in reality, it's them who failed to honor and recognize the VIP package booked through Expedia. In other words, the reality was I booked a VIP package and they couldn't fully honor until Day 4 to Day 7. But they portrait it as if they "heard" my request and changed the room in order to accommodate my request. When they used misleading word "preferred", I disagreed and asked them to revise, they again declined. I had to edit it, asked them to make two copies, one for them and one for me to keep as supporting proof. 2. They blamed Expedia for not letting them know. To me as a customer, Expedia and the hotel are one and expecting their partnership to deliver one seamless service. Whatever is between them is for them to sort out. 3. Also wrote a letter to the hotel management upon check-out to request 30% refund, only got denied. Raised it to Expedia and they were unable to resolve it which shows Expedia's service quality has deteriorating and ineffective since COVID, unfortunately and please stay away from Expedia as well if you are considering them: I have been an Expedia gold customer for more than 8 years and since COVID, service quality went negative. With all these, I do not feel comfortable recommending this hotel due to their inability to fix main issues, lack of transparency in communication, and unwilling to own up responsibilities. - Cold shower is just as serious as a hotel room without a bed, that's the best analogy I could come up with. I even provided the suggested hot water temperature, 65-degree Celsius maximum, after two consecutive days of their-unable-to resolve this issue thinking everyone's definition of hot water/temperature can be different. In other words, it they could get the hot water temperature up to 65 degrees Celsius, which is a normal standard hot water temperature in Taiwan, I should be able to adjust it to the temperature that works for me. They said they have noted and heard but still did not fix it. Additional information: * Cloth hangers aren't all that clean - asked them to check but never fixed or received an update. * Asked for a pair of ear plugs - a staff's first response was that he would let the management know the next morning and he's the only one in the front desk, unable to do anything and the hotel does not have a spare ear plug available upon request. 10 minutes later, I suggested that they go get one in a nearby 7-11, a 24-hour convenient store. They finally brought me one. Surprised to know that they did not have spare ear plugs available upon request for a so called "luxury" hotel like this. * The housekeeping did not get the room ready for early check-in. A staff did a room walkthrough with me and agreed that they could have done better. They later fixed it. Since then, housekeeping had done a great job throughout my stay including when they changed my room. The new room was prepared well. * Some shampoo and body lotion bottles were half emptied and seemed to have been used before, also looked dirty. * The room light switch is hard to use, the light indicator and sign is not as self-explanatory. You need to experiment by trying each one of them. Even after 6 nights of stay, I must say that it's still somewhat confusing. * The hotel provides complimentary luggage storage for guests. * The hotel's location is located in Daan District, 8 minutes' walk to nearest MRT (subway) station: Daan, which is converging point of red and brown line. Frequent buses directly to Taiwan Main Station and Taipei 101 along Xinyi Road is also right around the corner. * Found a long brown hair on the hair dryer in the second room, and that hair dryer was hard to operate, lost electricity after 10 seconds. Had to ask for another one, they gave me another one and worked well. * They first communicated minibar hour to claim one free soft drink is from 6:30am to 10pm daily. I showed up at 7am, and again at 9:30pm on Day 2, the minibar next to the lobby was closed. They then changed their story by saying it's from 9am to 8pm. I have proofs supporting my review above.
