The check-in process at our arrival at the Éclat Hotel was conveniently performed as every section of the hotel was well manage at easy reach such as the restroom, elevator and dining area. For people who love boutique hotel atmosphere with modern arts, this hotel would be a great choice with many details and nice photo spots.

One of the most outstanding features of the Éclat Hotel Taipei should be the room facilities and amenities with in-room automatic heated lavatory seat. Which are modern and clean, with comfortable bedding.

Breakfast a la carte was delicious as they provided both western and asian selection.
We really like having the Eggs Benedicts which was just yummy, as our number one choice.

The location of this hotel is very convenient, since we can walk to nearby shops and restaurants, as well as take taxi to the famous night markets and attraction which will take about 20 to 30 minutes. So the Éclat Hotel is centrally located on main road, with quiet surrounding and easy access to transportation.

The concierge at the front desk can help you in your itinerary in visiting attraction in Taipei.

Really felt like home while staying at this luxury boutique hotel which made our journey is Taipei memorable as we would like to give our thanks to all staffs at the Éclat Hotel Taipei for their outstanding services and hospitality.

Duration: 5 nights (Friday thru Wednesday)
Check-in: Not sure what happened but seems or feel like they already knew that I will be checking in...
Lobby: SLH feel, for sure.
Room: I guess mine is the basic one but with SLH feel for sure. Lots of switches and electronics I can explore for the first few hours. Fun. Bedding is comfortable and this is the most important thing for business travels.
In-room mini bar: All soft drinks (and a can of Taiwan beer) are complementary, refilled everyday.
Bathroom: Great shower experience (No bath tub but does not bother me), open the draw and you may think you are bringing too much in your luggage...they have everything I need.
Toilet: TOTO Washlet, not sure if I want to expect more.
Stationary: Mont Blanc kit...I wish I had more papers to sign.
Breakfast was included because I am a Hyatt member. Not expected but I took it with thanks. However, if I had to pay, I will skip it because there's always something better outside hotel like elsewhere in the world.
Hospitality: Being greeted almost every time and everywhere when I met hotel staffs. Made me wonder if I was the only guest in the hotel.
Location: Important for me. I mainly use cabs and high speed train in this trip. This location avoids the most traffic within the city.
Conclusion: I will definitely come back to this hotel for my business trip.

Just wrapped up a wonderful and productive 2 week stay at this truly one of a kind property. A unique blend of classic and eclectic sculptures and paintings filled the lobby and lounge areas, accented with beautiful glass chandeliers that hung from the ceiling. The rooms had a slight Art Deco feel and were meticulously well maintained and remarkably comfortable and clean. Breakfast consisted of quality unlimited (except for the Western egg selections) ala carte items made to order according to your preferences. Outside of breakfast, the Taiwanese beef noodle soup is a must try!

I must say the staff at this hotel is among the best I have encountered. Gina was always especially helpful and always greeted us warmly by name and made sure we were well taken care of. Sandra at the Lobby Lounge was always very kind and both she and the gentleman (sorry I forget his name) were extremely efficient with our breakfast orders. The housekeeping staff was extremely attentive and all of our requests were fulfilled immediately. Also a special thanks to Julia who assisted us on several occasions and personally reached out to us about a forgotten item. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to coming back.

This is a boutique hotel locate south side of Da’an that’s away from metro (15min) and mayor stores and restaurant . If you traveling with family this is not the place. Upon check in no one able to help with luggage , they were clearly short staffed .Room is well equipped with Dyson dryer , B&O system but has tinny space shower and no bathtub. The so call Grand room is not grand. When I asked for bathtub room they said is $150 extra and they are small hotel anyway( mean no tub is normal)
Housekeeping will not clean your plates or used cups. The AC was broken and was called to repaired but nothing got done or called back to explained ; it was making me sick. I had a package arrived sitting for 3 days and they never called me to confirmed receipt . The door makes a busting sound as if someone try to break in, when ever your Neigbore open or closed door, I got waken up few time at night because of the sounds. The breakfast is limited all you can eat buffet style . Although they “claim” bread is freshly made and eggs are made when order , this is a tinny lounge with 1 person running the show. Gets irritated to wait for your coffee, eggs and bread though one person and usually you are full by the time food are there. ( yeah don’t expect refill on your coffe)
This prob the first time I do not agree with my fellow TA reviewers.
This is not a luxury 4 star hotel. It is missing the personal service level and attentions needed . Adding Dyson dryer, Mont Blanc pen or highend sohnd systems doesn’t make you a luxury hotel. The modern decor can fool tourist on picture but you need to do more to make them come back. We left early and check in other hotel . This places was missing all the key factor in location and service level that we are looking for in this price tag. Sorry but definite not my choice in Taipei ( I stayed over 20+ hotels in TPE from 5 Star hotel/Villa to 2 Star motels)

This is a great hotel with luxurious amenities, convenient location and friendly staff. Room was very clean, our room included a massage chair, especially nice after walking many miles each day. Staff was very accommodating, even stored our food in their fridge until we were ready for our flight home. Daan station along the red line is about a 7 min walk, this line will take you to many tourist locations without the need to transfer to other lines. Neighborhood seems to be on the quieter side comparing to places such as Ximending.

Tip: Some of the rooms have " open concept " with the bathroom, if you want privacy, be sure to book a room with a separate bathroom.

So I spent one night at Éclat by starting with their afternoon tea in the lobby. We were hosted by Leo and he was kind to me and my family. I stayed at the Premier 9 Room and the details in the room were fantastic and exactly just like what they advertised. It's also remarkable that they have 6 pillows and two of them are the firm kind that I'm used to (I've been in other 5-star hotel that you need to request them specifically or some of them don't even have that). That helped me had a great sleep and it's also a very quiet location that I didn't hear any noise from the street!

I booked L'Eclat after searching for boutique hotels in Taipei on line. When I saw their website, the fact they are part of SLH of the World and in the Michelin guide, I thought they must be doing something right and they certainly did. If you look for an elegant European style building with a super cool interior, then this is the place for you. The rooms are fabulous and have every gimmick you can imagine, from B&O stereo to Mont Blanc stationary and pen, the bathroom is outstanding with a toilet from Japan so smart, it could probably make coffee. :-) , while the rooms are fairly small , they are very well and smartly laid out . Unfortunately we had issues with the room twice, but we were changed room swiftly and I did not let that ruin my vacation. The FO staff is fabulous and so is Housekeeping. I could see some improvement in the Food & Beverage area Bar and lounge restaurant. Some staff there is not exactly friendly, also, one always has to flag somebody down to get served, not five star service considered how the rest is handled. I wrote an email to the General Manager, she never responded, that did not sit too well but we were happy. Very interesting the amenities for New Years Eve. A box full of Chocolate bottles with liquor inside, crazy 2020 glasses and sticks that illuminate when broken. Cool stuff and innovative. The decor of the hotel is really cool, at least we loved it and we will share some pictures. All in all, if in Taipei, we will be back. We love the place. The Bellini Restaurant, downstairs , although not being managed by the Hotel directly, has excellent Italian food, great Pizza and is very popular considering the patronage. Taipei is a great city, we love the Taiwanese people and L'Eclat will be our home from home there. Well done. One of the best New Years Eve's ever . And congrats on the wonderful features and amenities. I won't give it up - go there and find out. Great Place.

Smoking room was assigned even the hotel was supposedly smoke free. The room smells horrible, like a dated smoking lounge at an airport. Grossest is that cigarette ashes is left in corners of the room as well.

The water kettle had to be changed out also. It causes the water to have rancid oily taste. The previous guest must have cooked things using the kettle besides smoking in the room. All these cause the hotel feeling like a ran down motel especially when there is no detector in the room to detect smoking.

During COVID, I'm really wonder if the hotel is cleaning enough to minimize pandemic spreading.

We had to change rooms since the room is way too gross.

Had been wanted to try this hotel for so long and finally found the right reasons to. This is the only SLH (Small Luxury Hotels) in Taiwan. And it suit all characters in room..

If you like arts, this is your hotel! Expect art arts arts everywhere you go from lobby to room. So glad that I visit during Christmas season, love the nutcrackers entrance. It’s literally the most festive entrance I’ve been in December. (Literally been to hotels every week).

The hotel, which is actually old.. my check in was a breeze, however lobby smell was not pleasant. I did recommend them to put like a floor diffuser or even jo malone ones at the front desk since they do give you an option to upgrade your toiletries to jo malone if you’re not staying at their suite (which I plan to one day, if not alone). If you like bright plain lobby, this is not for you. There’s one lounge which link to the hotel and a fusion jap Italian restaurant below the lobby. I recommend to try the restaurant too, although I only had takeout since there’s no table available.

The room.. which is consider old - if you’re like me who look into corners. However, everything is well maintained! Surprisingly and gladly. Amenities mentioned in the website is as per stated. I especially like the B&O media player which the hotel recommend you to turn up the volume to minimum 50. There’s even a heater for the colder days. Some corners are in bad condition - wondering when the hotel will over-go a refurbishment as small details matters for small luxury hotels like this. The bed was one of the best I’ve slept with, very much comparable to the best one in Taipei (no names mention but it’s minimum X3 the rate compare to Eclat). Love the big shower room which you can open the blinds and shower with the city too. Since I have no plans for the night I’ve stayed, the TV was my best friend for the night and so glad pay to view movies are ZERO charges!

I just couldn’t point any bad things here other than some corners condition of the building. Would definitely love coming back and try out the other categories.

Being a healthcare worker and a global traveller covid19 made our lifes quite busy staying away from home, but when you land in a hotel lEclat, i was little surprised to see such a fancy hotel in most competitive rates. I stayed 30days in this hotel after completing my quarantine, i must say the staff is one of the best i every come across, they really took care of me also surprised me on my birthday.
I would recommend this hotel with my eye closed !
Thank you management for having such a great staff, they made me feel home.

Special thank you Josephine, Melisa, Rose, Rorimaar and my friend Milton, you guys are the definition of hospitality! (Sorry if i forget someone's name here)

As it was our first visit, we took a taxi from the airport to hotel, not too expensive. But on the return journey, we took the metro back to the airport as we had then familiarised ourselves with the city and transport links. You can purchase the metro cards at the manned kiosks in the stations (10 mins walk from hotel). We purchased ours for 1 day travel daily (think it worked out cheaper than the 3 and 7 day passes which included entries to places which we didn't need) Buy your sim card at the airport (I have a feeling the booths are located before the immigration check point.. sorry cant remember). The rates are good for tourist visit (as are the currency exchange rates in the airport) and the staff will insert SIM cards into your phone for you and will take a copy of your passport. Have a good trip!

The on property breakfast offers a nice blend of western choices (eggs, bacon, etc) with an Asian buffet. If you want this type of choice for breakfast, you will enjoy the variety. I thought the food was good and enjoyed the selection. The dining room was pretty busy when I was there a couple months ago. And, yes, there are many choices within a short walking distance, if you decide not to go for the hotel breakfast.
